Violette ushered Daniel inside and called out, "Emily, Daniel's here to see you."
She was in a hurry because she didn't want Emily to keep Daniel waiting, fearing it might annoy him.
Emily was on the phone with Knox at the time.

"What kind of gift? I already owe you plenty. You don't need to spend anything on me. You know I don't need anything right now!"
Emily was surprised by Knox's sudden offer.

Knox was worried that Emily might put herself in danger.

Knox immediately asked, "Emily, are you hiding someone in a golden house?"

Emily didn't catch the jealousy in his voice and quickly said, "Just a friend. I have to go."
She didn't realize she had given priority to Daniel in her heart.
"Why are you here? Is something wrong?"

Daniel didn't speak, but he glanced at Violette.
Violette immediately understood and said, "I'll leave you two to talk. I'm going to rest."

The night was long, and the gentle breeze outside added a touch of intimacy.
Daniel spoke with a hint of apology, "Grandpa doesn't want to stay in the hospital. I also think it's not safe there, so I've brought him home."
Emily nodded, waiting for him to continue.
"I mentioned before that I wanted to ask you to move into the Smith Villa with me. On one hand, it would prevent him from being poisoned again. On the other hand, I need your help to treat him and find out who the real culprit is."
Daniel wanted to make it hard for Emily to refuse.

Emily smiled, "You don't need to help me pack. I don't have many things. I'll just grab a few items quickly."
Daniel saw her insistence and nodded, "Alright. You don't need to bring much. I'll have everything prepared at the villa. It's late, so get some rest. I'll pick you up in the morning."
In reality, he didn't need to rush.
But Knox's presence made him feel a strong sense of urgency. He thought the sooner they left, the better, before Knox could find Emily.
Emily had no idea that Daniel was already feeling competitive with Knox.
After seeing Daniel off, she packed her laptop and a few changes of clothes.
She only brought a homemade face cream, as her natural beauty required little maintenance.
The next morning, Emily informed Violette, Atticus, and Liam that she'd be away for a few days.
Liam clung to her leg, "Emily, I'll miss you."
Emily knew Liam felt insecure and was about to comfort him when Daniel arrived.
Daniel, who Liam liked, saw the boy's reluctance and suggested, "How about Liam comes to the Smith Villa for a few days?"
With Liam there, it might even bring them closer.
Emily didn't realize Daniel's ulterior motive and thought he was being considerate.
Having someone unconditionally support you was something Emily rarely experienced in her past life, and it touched her.
"I'll check the villa first. If it's okay, I'll come back for him," Emily said, aware of potential dangers at the Smith Villa.
Daniel understood her concern and admitted, "Sorry, I didn't consider that. We'll wait a few days."
He patted Liam's head, "Liam, wait a few days. Then I'll come get you and Emily."
Liam, though reluctant, nodded obediently.
Daniel's caution was wise.
Shortly after he and Emily left, Knox arrived.
