Chapter 18: Abusing Scumbags, Easy
"Really? Are you sure you want to stop us now?" Emily's smile was cold as she spoke.
Sophia admired Emily's courage, but the power difference was huge, and they were outnumbered...
She reached out and tugged on Emily's sleeve, trying to remind her.
But Emily completely ignored her.
Instead, she nodded at Katya.
Katya immediately understood and nodded back.
Sophia was utterly speechless.
What were the two of them doing?
Byron seemed to have forgotten his recent embarrassment, thinking it was just Emily catching him off guard and maybe being a bit stronger.
Now, hearing Emily's words, he laughed loudly, a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes. "I don't just want to stop you. I want to make sure you don't come back."
Bianca was anxious. "Emily, hurry up and apologize to Byron. You can take out your anger on me later..."
"Bianca, don't bother. Let her learn a lesson for her arrogance!"
Two others in the back were still shouting to make their presence known.
Emily didn't even glance at them.
Byron waved his hand, "Everyone, get her! Teach this Emily a good lesson!"
"Yes!"
Byron's lackeys charged forward.
As for Byron, he figured he didn't need to get his hands dirty dealing with a few girls.
He stood back to watch the show.
Cries of pain echoed one after another.
In almost an instant, all of Byron's lackeys were lying on the ground, groaning in pain.
Byron's expression turned serious as he realized the situation.
"Alright, I didn't expect you to have some skills. Let's see how you handle me!" Byron gritted his teeth and swung his fist towards Emily.
"Emily, watch out!" Sophia was incredibly nervous.
She could tell that Emily had some skills.
But Byron seemed to have trained in combat.
No one believed that Emily could win.
Sophia even nudged Katya's arm, signaling her to get help.
But strangely, Katya just stared intently, not moving at all.
"My hand... my foot... they're broken! You bitch, you hurt me! I won't let you get away with this!"
In almost an instant.
Byron's screams filled the air, his threats mingling with his cries of pain.
Emily had her foot on Byron's chest.
"Shut up!" Emily warned disdainfully, applying a bit more pressure with her foot.
Byron actually shut his mouth.
Bianca and Hayden were both stunned.
Emily casually dusted off her hands after the fight and then addressed the equally stunned Sophia and Katya, "Let's go!"
She had other matters to attend to.
And, she needed to catch up on some sleep.
Sophia and Katya quickly followed her lead.
"Emily, you're amazing. Where are you headed? I'll have my driver take you."
Sophia laughed happily.
Emily thought for a moment. She was indeed tired, so she agreed.
When Emily mentioned Serenity Grove, Sophia was initially surprised.
"Is that your house?" For some reason, she felt it was Emily's.
The more she got to know Emily, the more she realized Emily was far more capable than she had initially thought.
After the surprise wore off, Sophia figured it made sense for someone like Emily to own such a house.
But just a few days ago, it seemed like she was living in a "slum," and now she owned a mansion. Her earning power was astonishing.
Without waiting for Emily to answer, Sophia suddenly grabbed Emily's hand, her eyes shining. "Emily, from now on, I'm sticking with you. You have to protect me."
Suddenly, Emily had a new sidekick.
Emily actually found it quite nice.
Despite the danger earlier, Sophia had been scared to death but didn't think of abandoning her. She was a friend worth having.
Emily thought for a moment and nodded. "We'll see how you do."
That was a hopeful sign.
Sophia immediately saluted. "I promise to do great. Just watch, Emily."
Soon, the car arrived at the mansion's gate.
Emily scanned her face, and the car was allowed to drive in.
This indirectly confirmed her ownership.
Katya had been quiet the whole time, but she was secretly amazed.
When they reached the mansion's entrance, Emily got out of the car and told Katya, "Don't forget to send me the stuff!"
Then, she coolly walked back into the house.
Meanwhile, Sophia stayed in the car, "interrogating" Katya about what secrets she had with Emily.
Back at home, Emily first tracked down the IP addresses of those who had smeared her on the forum, saving all the information and screenshots before crashing until the next day.
The next morning, she got a call from the principal's office.
Emily was mulling over the call, wondering if it was about her transfer paperwork, which she hadn't prepared yet. The principal wouldn't call for that, right?
Could it be that Byron's family had come after her?
She certainly didn't think it was Byron himself. He was probably still bedridden.
"Principal, you wanted to see me?"
Emily politely knocked and entered.
As soon as she stepped in, a large hand grabbed her roughly.
The principal stepped aside, giving them space to handle the situation.
After all, the Johnson family had donated a building to the school, and since Emily was still part of the Johnson family, the principal naturally gave them this courtesy.
"You're not staying in the dorms or returning to the Johnson Villa. Where have you been staying at night?" The person gripping her hand demanded aggressively.
Emily looked up to see the dignified and graceful Aiden, a flash of surprise in her eyes.
She quickly composed herself and shook off Aiden's hand.
"You came to find me just for this? I've been away from home for days, and now you're concerned? Isn't it a bit late!" Emily retorted sarcastically.
If Cleo was like poison wrapped in honey to her, Aiden evoked complex feelings.
He usually stuck to his duties and appeared fair most of the time.
Moreover, he was the one who personally drove her back and took her to the hospital, preventing her from freezing to death that winter.
She should be grateful to him.
But in her past life, when she fell ill and had to donate bone marrow to Bianca, the Johnson family was already under Aiden's control.
So, he was the one who made the decision.
He played a significant role in pushing her into the abyss.
Aiden was momentarily at a loss for words, a hint of guilt flashing across his face.
However, he quickly masked it with the reason he came to find her.
"So, you're blaming the family and deliberately causing trouble outside, even angering Byron!" Aiden frowned, accusing her.
Emily's face turned cold.
Whenever it involved Bianca, they didn't even bother to find out the truth. It was always her fault.
"Oh, you're here to blame me, huh? Who told you this, Hayden or Bianca?"
Her expression was icy. "Let me guess, Bianca must have said, 'It's all my fault. If it weren't for me, Emily wouldn't have acted out, and she wouldn't have angered Byron. If possible, I would apologize to Byron on Emily's behalf, but I'm afraid the Reyes family won't accept it.'"
Aiden's eyebrow twitched.
Emily had hit the nail on the head.
Since she knew how much Bianca was troubled and worried for her, why did she still act this way?
Hayden had said Emily had changed, becoming more malicious and uncontrollable.
Aiden didn't believe it.
But now he could see that Emily was no longer the obedient and compliant girl she used to be.
If Emily knew this, she would probably curse Hayden to death.
As long as she didn't follow their wishes and act like a puppet, she was considered disobedient.
That just meant the Johnson family members were all self-righteous control freaks.
"Since you know, I won't waste words. You're coming with me to the Reyes Villa to apologize to Byron. I'll do my best to speak on your behalf. The Reyes family might go easy on you for my sake."
Aiden said, reaching out to grab Emily's hand again.
