Chapter 15: Slapping Oneself
Emily had important things to handle today and didn’t want to get caught up with Bianca.
She pretended not to see Bianca and walked away.
“Emily, do you hate me that much now? You can’t even look at me!” Bianca's voice was like nails on a chalkboard.
She looked like she was about to cry, her pitiful expression immediately drawing the attention of onlookers.
Emily couldn’t understand how Bianca could cry on demand. She’d make a great actress.
“Isn’t it you who gets all emotional when you see me? I’m just looking out for your health. How can you blame me for that? Poor me…” Emily retorted sarcastically.
Emily was naturally attractive, and her sarcasm only made her seem more charming rather than annoying.
In contrast, Bianca looked like she was on the verge of tears, ready to faint at any moment.
It was disgusting!
Some of the smarter people began to look at Bianca differently.
Bianca noticed this change in their gaze.
She dug her nails into her skin.
Don’t panic!
Emily, who used to be submissive and timid, had become so difficult to deal with.
It seemed like she had pushed Emily too hard in the past; maybe it was time to offer some kindness.
Bianca bit her lip and forced back her tears. “Emily, when did I ever blame you? I’m sorry, it must be our parents worrying about me too much and causing a misunderstanding. You wouldn’t blame everyone for that, would you?”
Bianca was pretty but had a nickname: “Sick Beauty.”
So, everyone knew her health wasn’t great.
Hearing her words, people started to think Emily was indeed being unreasonable, probably trying to compete for attention and jealous of the sick Bianca.
Emily sneered internally.
Since Bianca was putting on an act, wouldn’t it be a waste not to play along?
“You never said that? If it wasn’t you, why would I have lived in your studio’s storage room for years?”
“I didn’t…”
“Don’t say you didn’t know. You recently painted just by my bed. Are you going to claim you’ve forgotten that too?” Emily pressed on relentlessly.
Bianca was momentarily speechless.
The surrounding people were shocked and started whispering among themselves.
“Isn’t Bianca supposed to be rich and living in a mansion? Why would Emily need to live in a storage room?”
“Isn’t Emily supposed to be the one who’s always been jealous and bullying Bianca because she suffered outside and the family owes her? There must be some gossip here.”
Bianca’s teeth were nearly ground to dust.
Why had Emily become so difficult to deal with now?
She couldn’t show how frustrated she was.
Her body swayed, and a friend quickly supported her.
“Emily, you’re so cruel. You know Bianca’s health isn’t good, yet you deliberately stress her out? It’s your own unruly behavior that forced the family to give you the quietest place upstairs, and you’re still not satisfied.”
A friend of Bianca’s immediately jumped in to accuse Emily.
Emily looked at the friend coldly.
It seemed Bianca had lied about her quite a bit to her friends.
No wonder she was bullied at school in her past life.
Bianca leaned against her friend Lily, shaking her head vigorously. “It’s all my fault. Don’t blame Emily.”
Bianca played the role of the concerned sister, ignoring her own health to plead, “Emily, if you’re upset and blame me, I get it. But please, don’t hurt yourself.”
“You’ve been staying out all night, worrying the family. Where have you been? You’ve just turned eighteen, and some guys love to deceive innocent girls like you. Don’t get tricked.”
Bianca was deliberately misleading everyone to think Emily was staying out at night, being deceived by men, and fooling around.
She wanted to ruin Emily’s reputation.
Emily felt suffocated by the nonsense.
She wanted to go up and slap Bianca.
But someone beat her to it!
“Seriously, you’re a college student and can’t even talk straight. What kind of teacher taught you? Emily’s been staying with me these past two days. Your family might not like her, but my family does.”
Sophia suddenly slapped Bianca, leaving everyone stunned.
After slapping Bianca, Sophia walked over to Emily and linked arms with her, speaking boldly.
However, Sophia had lied about the living situation, so she quickly winked at Emily, signaling her to play along.
Seeing Sophia, Bianca felt a surge of hatred, both old and new. She wanted to grab Sophia’s hair and beat her up.
But her image wouldn’t allow it.
It was humiliating and painful.
Bianca cried, “Emily, it seems you really hate me so much that you’d rather stay with Sophia than come home with me. If that makes you happy, I respect that.
But please don’t take it out on James. You know he’s trying to fulfill Grandma’s last wish. What will it take for you to let him continue studying? I’ll slap myself if that’s what it takes…”
She was betting that Emily wouldn’t let her slap herself.
So she raised her hand, pretending to slap herself.
To her surprise, Emily didn’t move.
Sophia laughed lightly, “Stop pretending. Go ahead and slap yourself!”
Bianca was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
She glanced around, then gritted her teeth and actually slapped herself.
“Is this enough?” Bianca asked tearfully, looking at Emily.
Emily found it boring.
Slapping herself couldn’t make up for all the scheming and harm Bianca had done to her in her past life.
Remembering how she had crawled out of the Johnson Villa covered in blood before she died, Emily’s eyes turned cold.
Bianca saw that Emily had no reaction and sneered internally.
This time, she would ruin Emily’s reputation to repay today’s humiliation.
She bit her lip and continued slapping herself.
Emily, however, pulled Sophia away to leave.
Bianca watched Emily leave and felt a sense of relief.
Her face was delicate, and even though she hadn’t slapped herself hard, combined with Sophia’s slap, her face was now swollen and red.
Watching Emily’s back, Bianca felt sad and wanted to say something but ended up fainting into her friend’s arms.
Emily didn’t need to guess; she knew this would happen. She didn’t stop and parted ways with Sophia, heading to continue her registration.
Little did she know, someone had already posted photos of Bianca getting slapped by Sophia and Emily coldly watching Bianca slap herself on the campus forum.
