Chapter 140 She Is So Kind and Moral, She Will Definitely Be Willing
"Emily, are you trying to push Bianca to her breaking point?" Aiden asked, his voice tinged with concern.
"Don't forget," he continued, "the reason you're back at the Johnson Estate is because of her strong support."
Emily chuckled lightly. "Oh, come on. She owes me her life. If I hadn't been born, she probably wouldn't have survived eighteen years ago."
She paused, then added, "And let's be real, the only reason she wants me back so badly is because her health's been going downhill. She's scared her old illness will flare up again and needs me as a potential bone marrow donor, right?"
Aiden and Chase were stunned, clearly not expecting Emily to know this. They were at a loss for words, staring wide-eyed at her.
Chase couldn't help but blurt out, "How did you find out?"
This inadvertently confirmed Emily's suspicions.
Emily's mocking smile grew wider. "So, you all knew, huh? Yet every time, you still insisted I should cater to her. But why should I?"
James had no idea about this. If it was true, then what did Emily mean to him? He had always sided with Bianca and blamed Emily. Did that make him an accomplice?
"Emily, I'm sorry. I didn't know. If I had known..."
Emily cut him off, completely unmoved. "What would you have done? Nothing. You'd still be soft-hearted and believe Bianca. As for your conscience, that's something you need to deal with.
Your apology is too late. I won't accept it. Just leave. I don't want to see you again. If you really feel guilty, don't bother me anymore, and keep Bianca away from me."
Emily felt she had made her point clear, but some people are always self-centered and never listen to others.
It seemed they were led astray because it was only after Emily finished speaking that they realized.
"Emily, now is not the time to dig up old grievances. We need you to provide evidence to clear Chase's name. The situation online is escalating, and without valid proof, Chase will be publicly shamed and face massive fines," Aiden urgently reminded her.
Emily shrugged. "So what? How is that my concern? Besides, I already mentioned my conditions."
"Emily, how can you be so heartless? I'm your brother. Can you really be so cruel?" Chase said, his expression dark.
Emily gave a cold smile. "Do you think you're any better? It just goes to show that the Johnson family's genes are all cold and unfeeling. I can't deny the bloodline. You're cold and heartless, and so am I. I admit it.
You always praise Bianca for her kindness, right? Then let her make a choice. See if she's willing to come forward and reveal the truth from back then, and apologize to me publicly online. Then I'll agree to give you the evidence."
"That's impossible! Bianca's health is poor, and she's so proud and strong. If she did that, I fear she wouldn't be able to handle it," Chase retorted.
Emily suddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart.
He was worried about Bianca, afraid that even an apology would be too much for her.
But what about herself?
Back then, she faced even greater malice and suffered from school bullying because of it.
None of them felt sorry for her; instead, they thought she deserved it, that it was a chance for her to learn a lesson.
Thinking about it, Emily's gaze grew colder.
"We're all living our first lives. Why should I accommodate her, especially when she already owes me? You always say Bianca is kind, right? Go back and tell her that she should be willing to stand up and explain the truth from back then, and apologize to me publicly online if she's really as kind-hearted as you claim."
Seeing Emily's firm stance, Aiden and the others had no choice but to leave.
Bianca had it all planned out, but there was no way the current Emily would agree to help.
So, when Chase returned, she immediately approached him, concerned, "Chase, how did it go? Did Emily agree to help gather the evidence? I knew it! Even though Emily seems cold-hearted, she's actually kind and would agree to help."
She spoke without noticing the strange looks from the three men.
It wasn't until she finished speaking and everyone remained silent that Bianca sensed something was off.
"What's wrong? Did I say something wrong? Or did Emily refuse? How could she be so heartless? I always thought that despite any conflicts between us, Emily wouldn't just stand by and do nothing!"
Chase suddenly moved closer to Bianca, grabbing her hand with a fervent and urgent look in his eyes.
"Emily is indeed cold-hearted and refused to help me. Bianca, if it were you, would you be willing?"
Bianca's heart sank, confirming her suspicions.
She opened her mouth, ready to say she would, but her mind raced.
Why was Chase suddenly asking this? He first compared her to Emily, then asked her directly. There must be something wrong.
Bianca forced a smile, "Chase, what do you mean by this? Did Emily say something to try to drive a wedge between us? If you all suspect me, what's the point of me living?
My illness is already a burden. If it flares up, there's no need to treat it. It would save me from suffering..."
As she spoke, her emotions grew agitated, and she seemed on the verge of fainting.
"Aiden, get the medicine!"
With Bianca's condition, the family always kept special medication on hand.
However, everyone was usually so concerned about her that the first thought during an episode was to rush her to the hospital.
This was the first time James directly mentioned giving her the medicine.
Pretending to faint, Bianca's heart sank, wondering what was going on.
Emily must have said something to change James, Aiden, and Chase's attitudes towards her.
She couldn't wake up immediately, as that would arouse suspicion.
Soon, Aiden found the medicine.
But since she was pretending to be unconscious, it was difficult to administer the medication.
However, Bianca couldn't overdo her act.
So after several attempts to give her the medicine failed, and James frowned with suspicion, Bianca sensed his change in attitude.
She slowly opened her eyes, her gaze misty and pitiful, with a hint of confusion.
Bianca seemed to ponder for a moment before realizing what had happened.
"James, I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. Is that medicine? I'm fine now. I can't take it. I don't want to harm our baby."
Bianca sniffled, looking helpless and pitiful.
Chase immediately softened, "James, if Bianca says she's fine, then let's leave it. She's thinking of your baby. You should treat her better, not like how you treated Emily."
James's eyes turned sharp at his words.
"So, you all knew I treated Emily badly, even bullied her, right?"
