Chapter 343 Chapter 343 Just got divorced and already thinking about having dinner with me!

Eileen Stevens lazily lifted her eyes and replied with a nonchalant "Hmm," acknowledging him just enough.
Caelan Cooper handed the items to the butler and took a seat next to the old man's hospital bed.
"Grandpa, I'm sorry to trouble you with my and Myrtle's issues. I heard you were unwell, and our whole family is worried. I came specifically to check on you," he said.
"This is a supplement my mom had someone buy for you. Please take good care of yourself," he added.
The old man waved his hand and sighed, "The situation with Myrtle is my fault for not raising my granddaughter properly."
He then took Caelan's hand and comforted him, "Caelan, you're still young. There will be better matches for you in the future."
Caelan glanced over at Eileen and replied, "Yes, Grandpa, don’t worry. I’m fine with it."
Caelan had a great impression on the old man; after all, he was a polite young man.
However, Eileen had no interest in their conversation. She stood up and said, "Grandpa, I’ll head back now. I’ll come to see you again tomorrow."
The old man nodded, and Eileen picked up her bag and left the hospital room.
As she reached the end of the hallway to wait for the elevator, she heard Caelan's voice behind her. "Eileen! Wait a moment!"

The elevator doors opened, and Eileen quickly stepped inside, with Caelan hurriedly following. "Eileen, wait for me!"
Eileen sighed, "Do you need something, Caelan?"
He looked at his watch and asked, "It's already six o'clock. Have you had dinner yet? I know a new Western restaurant nearby. How about we grab dinner together?"
"No, thanks," Eileen flatly refused.
"Why?" Caelan Cooper asked. "Eileen, I just got out of a failed marriage. Can't you just keep me company for a bit?"
Eileen Stevens smiled. "You just ended a marriage, and now you're thinking about taking me out to dinner? It seems Myrtle Stevens isn't that important to you after all."
Caelan sighed. "What does it matter? After what she did, should I still hold onto her memory? People need to look forward."
Eileen nodded. "You're right."
"Then please, look ahead. I'm not someone you should focus on; I'm just someone you've already moved on from. So don’t look my way."
The elevator reached the ground floor, and Eileen quickly walked out of the hospital.
Caelan, not ready to give up, chased after her. "Eileen, it's just dinner, I..."
He followed her all the way to the hospital entrance, where cars were rushing by, but he still didn’t relent.

Suddenly, a black Audi sped toward them, showing no signs of slowing down. It swerved around Eileen and headed straight for Caelan!
The car slammed to a halt, tires screeching against the pavement, causing Caelan to freeze in place. The vehicle was just inches away from him, leaving everyone watching in shock!
Caelan's face paled for a moment, and Eileen looked at him coldly. "Caelan Cooper, I'll say this once: I don't want to have dinner with you."
She opened the car door and slid into the passenger seat. The car quickly backed up, made a sharp turn, and sped away.
Caelan stood there, stunned, watching the understated vehicle disappear. Was that… Eileen's new boyfriend? She said there was nothing going on with Hiram Hawke, but could she already be seeing someone else?
Caelan was taken aback. It was just a guy driving an Audi. How impressive could he really be?
Inside the car, Eileen Stevens glanced at the stern-faced Niles Hawke and cleared her throat. "Why did you come here by yourself? Where's Zavier Harding?"
Niles Hawke, however, skipped over that topic entirely and asked, "What did Caelan Cooper want with you?"
Eileen blinked, feeling a bit guilty as she replied, "He wanted to... have dinner."
Niles frowned. "Isn't he freshly divorced? He’s already looking to have dinner with you?"
Eileen nodded vigorously. "That's what I thought! So, he must not really care for Myrtle Stevens; he was just focused on the baby she’s carrying. Now that he’s divorced, he’s free."
A shadow crossed Niles's eyes as he coldly remarked, "Looks like the divorce didn’t hit him too hard."
Driving alone, he pulled out his phone and called Hiram Hawke, keeping it brief. "Yeah, Cooper Family. Move quickly."
Eileen stared at him, confused. "Niles, what are you planning to do?"
Niles replied, "I’m going to give him something to keep him busy."
"And then?"
"Keep him too occupied to have dinner."
"…"
That evening, Eileen Stevens found herself watching the news on a financial channel.
The Cooper Family was under scrutiny due to quality issues with a project in City A, leading to a comprehensive inspection by the authorities. The vice president of the Cooper Family was rushing to City A that very night.
At that moment, Eileen was sitting on her living room couch, silently picking up her phone to send Niles a message on WeChat.

"Did you do this?"
"Yep."
Eileen Stevens felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.
A week later, while Yesenia Stevens was busy making her comeback, Anne Ross's TV drama was finally wrapping up.
Ulyssa Roberts's schemes had been exposed, and she received a divorce decree from the prince.
On the day the prince ascended the throne, Della was crowned as the empress, while Ulyssa burned her chamber in the Eastern Palace and hanged herself from the rafters.
Amid the smoke, outside, the sound of silk and bamboo instruments filled the air, celebrating the new emperor's rise and the harmonious union of the emperor and empress.
Dressed in white, Ulyssa held a white silk ribbon, a faint smile gracing her lips.
She remembered her early days in the Eastern Palace, so innocent and carefree, dreaming of marrying the man before her. But then Della appeared, and everything changed.
"Farewell," a tear slipped from Ulyssa's eye as she whispered, "Ulyssa, in the next life, don’t enter the Walker family. Don’t forget."
She kicked the stool beneath her, a beauty of her time, now extinguished.
"Cut!" the director shouted. "Anne Ross, that's a wrap!"
Anne Ross stepped out of the set, looking a bit pale due to her makeup.
Facing the enthusiastic crew, she humbly bowed and thanked them, saying, "I ordered takeout for everyone! Thank you all for your care over these past few days!"
Someone brought in a large box of fried chicken, shouting, "Anne Ross is treating us! Hurry, first come, first served!"
The atmosphere on set was lively and bustling. Anne Ross pulled a chicken leg from the crowd and made her way over to Eileen Stevens, smiling as she said, "Here, this is for you."
Eileen held out a large bouquet of fresh flowers and replied, "Congratulations, Ms. Anne, on finishing your first film!"
Anne paused for a moment, surprised. "Why are you giving me flowers again?"
Eileen looked equally confused. "What do you mean 'again'?"
Anne waved over Wynter Rivera, who was holding another bouquet, and said, "Didn't you send flowers before?"
Eileen frowned as she looked at the vibrant flowers. "That wasn't from me."
Anne frowned back. "But only you guys knew I was wrapping up today. The second young master definitely wouldn't send me flowers, and Calvin Brooks is busy preparing for the Spring Festival rehearsal. Who else could it be?"
