Chapter 299 Capturing an Important Figure

Chapter 301 Cody Is Still Alive

Several foreign men in suits were kneeling in the CEO's office.

Ronin stared at Nicholas and Diana with hateful eyes. His mouth was taped shut, only able to make muffled sounds.

"Mr. Spencer, what should we do with them?" Bruce asked quietly from the side.

Nicholas looked at Diana instead. "What do you think?"

"Interrogate them." Diana said expressionlessly. "These people definitely have company documents. Make them hand them over."

"Yes!" Bruce nodded slightly, then walked over to Ronin, grabbed him, and took him away.

An hour later, Bruce returned with a blood-stained document bag.

"Lachlan has started the equity transfer process, but the overseas review is strict. He hasn't fully taken control of the company yet. With only Mr. Sawyer Spencer's video support, they don't have the authority to remove Mr. Nicholas Spencer."

"Didn't you ask if Lachlan forged documents, misused company funds, or made illegal drugs?" Diana casually flipped through the documents, then handed them to Nicholas.

Nicholas didn't open them. He knew very well what Lachlan would do and didn't take him seriously at all.

The problem was that Sawyer was in Lachlan's hands. That was tricky.

Bruce cleared his throat. "Ronin isn't a core member. He only knows a bit about forged documents. He doesn't know anything else."

"Of course they'd only send small fries like him. Just testing our attitude." Nicholas sneered. "Have the lawyers find their mistakes, then hand the rest over to the police."

Bruce was startled, then nodded.

He understood Nicholas's meaning - this would put the Spencer family's affairs in front of the public.

When only Nicholas and Diana remained in the office, Diana asked, "What's our next move?"

"Wait."

"Wait?" Diana looked at him, confused.

Nicholas raised his eyebrows, and Diana's phone rang.

Seeing it was an overseas number, she put it on speaker. "Hello."

"Ms. Windsor." Lachlan's lazy voice came through. "You captured my people. Very brave of you."

"You dared to plant spies in the Spencer Corporation. That's pretty brave too." As Diana spoke, she used Nicholas's phone to contact Clio. She didn't want to keep any of those people with bad intentions at the Spencer Corporation.

Lachlan hadn't expected Diana to say that. He was clearly stunned for a moment, then laughed softly. "Ms. Windsor is indeed smart. Then you should know what I want. The medicine that can treat your grandmother is at customs. Whether it reaches you or not is just one phone call away from me."

Diana rolled her eyes. If she were stupid enough to let Thalia use the poison, Lachlan would really have her under his thumb.

But unfortunately, Lachlan miscalculated.

Hearing no response from Diana, Lachlan thought she had given in. "Ms. Windsor, in that case, hand over the Herbal Compendium."

"What's the point of just having the Herbal Compendium if you don't know how to cultivate the plants?" Diana said mockingly. "You don't think that just because Lavern told Declan all the cultivation methods, you can mass-produce medicinal herbs, do you?"

"What do you mean?" Lachlan asked urgently.

Diana sneered. "I mean, Lavern and my grandmother each mastered half of the herb cultivation methods. Declan and I inherited this theoretical knowledge."

"Since we're making a deal, why don't we make it bigger? Give me the special medicine, and you must guarantee you'll never get involved in the domestic Spencer Corporation's affairs. Completely separate the two companies and provide a written contract. How about that?"

"Ridiculous!" Lachlan roared. "You want Nicholas to continue being a nobleman in Seraphim? Dream on! Everything in the Spencer Corporation is mine. Why should he manage the domestic company?"

"Because I can give you the cultivation methods for precious medicinal herbs." Diana's tone was extremely calm, even with a hint of amusement. "Lachlan, I don't care whether Declan is alive or not. Mr. Spencer doesn't seem to like me much either, so I don't care about his fate. I only care about Nicholas's and my interests."

"If you're willing to cooperate, we'll be allies. If you're not willing..." She paused, then sneered. "Then I'll mass-produce medicinal herbs domestically. You should know, no one can match my acupuncture skills."

"By then, Nicholas and I will target you in every field. You should know - you're no match for Nicholas!"

"You!" Lachlan said angrily, but didn't know how to refute her.

Nicholas was a business genius. Sawyer had been saying for years that he would hand the company entirely over to Nicholas. How could Lachlan accept that?

But thinking of Nicholas's methods, Lachlan took a deep breath. "Ms. Windsor, since we're cooperating, you should know how to cultivate Lupus Extract, right?"

Lupus Extract - an extremely poisonous herb. Even just touching it would cause skin to rot.

But if combined with other ingredients, it could also become a life-saving medicine.

This herb was extremely rare. Forget about cultivating it - very few people even recognized it.

But Diana had seen it in the Herbal Compendium.

She carefully recalled the corresponding content in "The Laws of Cultivation" and spoke slowly. "Lupus Extract's root system secretes toxins that inhibit its own growth. It needs to be replanted every three years and must be grown alongside detoxifying plants."

"What detoxifying plants?" Lachlan asked urgently.

"Mr. Spencer, I should have passed your test, shouldn't I? So can you meet my requirements?"

Hearing Diana's question, there was silence on the other end. Only then did Lachlan say, "Fine, I agree. We'll make the exchange in three days. Please write down all the cultivation methods."

He quickly hung up, as if rushing to verify something.

Diana let out a long breath. "If he comes alone, have Luke take people overseas to bring your grandfather back. If he brings your grandfather with him, we'll detain him."

Nicholas looked at her with a smile. "Chairwoman Windsor is indeed decisive. Of course I'll follow your orders."

Diana's face flushed red. She coughed awkwardly. "If you think it's not right, you can still modify the plan. What I said might not all be correct."

"Of course everything you said is right." Nicholas pulled her onto his lap and tapped her nose. "You..."

Before he could finish, Diana felt the sapphire on her chest burning hot. She gripped Nicholas's hand tightly as a man's figure appeared before her eyes again - it was Cody!

Cody was wearing shabby clothes, walking hurriedly with his head down.

Diana's gaze followed him until she saw a street sign, then she suddenly snapped back to reality.

"Diana, what's wrong?" Nicholas held her tightly. "Damn necklace, when can we take it off?"

Just as Nicholas was about to pull off Diana's sapphire necklace, his hand was caught.

Diana said hoarsely, "Cody is still alive. He's on Oakwood Avenue!"
