Chapter 297 Catching Mice

Chapter 299 Capturing an Important Figure

This time Diana saw Lachlan, the man she'd only seen in photos, walking back and forth right before her eyes.

But Lachlan wasn't at the seaside at all. Outside the window were all kinds of foreign-designed buildings, and even the street vendors' calls were in a foreign language.

And Lachlan seemed to be in a hospital room, with an old man lying on the bed—Sawyer!

Diana's consciousness snapped back sharply. She used almost all her strength to grab her phone and called Gemma.

Gemma had just seen a man walking toward her when Diana's call came through. Worried something had happened, she had to answer. "What's wrong?"

"Lachlan isn't in the country."

Diana's short sentence instantly helped Gemma make her decision.

Gemma immediately lunged at the man and took him down before he could react.

She ripped off his mask and said into her Bluetooth earpiece, "Not the target, confirm not the target."

"Take him with us, evacuate immediately." Nicholas's cold voice came through.

Gemma looked at the terrified man and knocked him out before he could speak.

She understood the situation all too well. Eric had been trying to contact Sawyer since yesterday, but no one had responded.

Over the years, Lachlan had been targeting Nicholas both openly and secretly. If Sawyer hadn't been dealing with things abroad, Lachlan would have made his move long ago.

If Lachlan really succeeded, who knows what would happen to the Spencer family.

At the same time, a message came through on Diana's phone.

Clio: [Target lost, they've activated a signal jammer, can't locate them.]

Looking at the message, Diana's expression was extremely serious. "Those three men must be trying to get the Dawnveil Clover out of the country. Lachlan isn't in the country, and there's your grandfather."

She sat up tiredly, trying not to pass out, but her strength was fading.

Nicholas let her lean on his shoulder and said softly, "It's okay. Even if he's not in the country, I have ways to catch these people."

He had mostly recovered by now. Although the tumor had grown a bit, it had only made him return to his cold personality without affecting him too much.

But Diana didn't relax. Thinking about what she'd just seen, she said hoarsely, "I saw your grandfather in a hospital room, with Lachlan beside him."

Diana had wanted to track those people and quickly locate Lachlan's position, but she never expected Lachlan hadn't come to Seraphim at all, and Sawyer might already be in trouble.

"I saw them at a hospital. Outside the hospital window, there was a large supermarket. You need to send people abroad right away to check on your grandfather. Nicholas, I'm scared, I'm scared something will happen to your grandfather."

Diana's voice grew weaker and weaker until she finally passed out.

Nicholas looked at Diana in his arms and slowly tightened his grip. "Bruce, did we catch everyone at the dock?"

"Yes, all three people who stole the medicine are on the smuggling fishing boat." Bruce's voice also turned cold. "Gemma has people in the car. Mr. Spencer, where are we going now?"

"To the harbor villa." A cold smile crossed Nicholas's lips. "Since Lachlan wants to play, let's play properly."

Diana was arranged to rest on the second floor of the villa, while Nicholas took people to the main hall.

Curtains blocked out all the light. Dim lighting illuminated the hall, and the damp air was mixed with the smell of blood.

Nicholas walked down the stairs, and only then did his men stop.

A man was chained to the wall, his skin already torn open by whips.

And he was the man Gemma had just taken down—Asher Holden.

Asher looked at Gemma in front of him with an extremely fierce expression. "Gemma, you dare lay hands on me? Have you forgotten who I am?"

"Lachlan's body double."

After Gemma spoke, she whipped him again. "But here, you're nothing. You smuggled yourself in, you don't even have a passport, do you?"

"You!" Asher wanted to say more, but when he looked up and met Nicholas's sinister gaze, he instantly shuddered.

"Really does look like him." Nicholas's lips curved in a playful smile as he walked step by step toward Asher, then forcefully grabbed his chin. "Too bad anyone who looks like him deserves to die."

Nicholas forcefully threw Asher aside, then waved his hand. "Luke, you're up."

"You got it!" Luke got up from the sofa, his tongue licking his somewhat dry lips. "Mr. Holden, it's been a while."

He punched Asher in the stomach, and Asher immediately started dry heaving.

But before Asher could catch his breath, Luke's fists rained down like hail.

After a long while, Luke finally shook out his hands. "You've been Lachlan's body double for so many years, isn't that enough? Die here, or tell the truth. Your choice."

Blood trickled from the corner of Asher's mouth. After a long time, he sneered. "You want me to betray Mr. Spencer? Impossible!"

"What if it's for your daughter?" Nicholas held his phone up to Asher's face. "Is this your daughter?"

Diana had rescued many children from the cruise ship. Several of them still hadn't been claimed, including a girl who couldn't speak. But Diana clearly remembered that girl's father was Asher.

A minute ago, when Clio was comparing the photo Gemma sent, she quickly got information on Asher.

Everyone in the Spencer family knew that Asher was Lachlan's body double.

But no one knew Asher had a daughter.

His eyes widened as he looked at the photo of the girl on the phone in disbelief. "Azalea? Wasn't she..."

"Dead?" Nicholas sneered. "Lachlan told you that? Idiot."

"Bastard!" Asher suddenly roared, then struggled desperately. "Nicholas, explain yourself! Where is Azalea? Why do you have recent photos of her!"

Azalea had clearly died a year ago. Asher had personally sent Azalea to Lachlan's hospital for treatment and watched her take her last breath. How could she be alive now?

The door on the second floor suddenly opened, and Diana stumbled downstairs.

Diana walked up to Nicholas, glanced at Azalea's photo, then said weakly, "She was on the cruise ship for over a year, the whole time she was their plaything."

Diana's voice was soft, but the hall was even quieter. Everyone lightened their breathing.

"And Azalea had to take specific drugs regularly. Once the drugs merged with her blood, her blood became medicine to be transfused into dying people's bodies." Diana raised her eyes and stared at Asher without blinking. "If I'm not wrong, Aya is also connected to Lachlan. He provides medical services and might even be the biggest boss behind it all. Am I right?"

"No, this is impossible. I watched Azalea stop breathing with my own eyes. You're lying!" Asher roared.

But Diana took out her phone and directly made a video call.

A pretty little girl appeared on the screen, timidly calling her "Diana."

Diana pointed the phone at Asher. The moment he saw Azalea, Asher couldn't hold back anymore and broke down crying. "Azalea, is it really you?"

"Daddy, Daddy!"
