Chapter 262

Chapter 262
“Number two hundred and thirty-seven,” the host said, and the limelight shone on the person seated at the seat with that number tag. It was a young man.

The man was stunned as he never expected that he would be chosen. He had just come cause he wanted to meet with some businessmen. He had been chosen by his superior to accompany him, so he wasn’t really into the design industries. However, that didn’t mean that he didn’t know the affluent and most important figure in the business world.

“Miss Isley Alessandro,” the man answered as he had always followed on business news both domestically and internationally, thus he knew a few things about Isley that most people.

The host was stunned as she never expected him to answer so quickly. She had thought that it would take some time before he got an answer.

“Correct,” the host said, shocking everyone, and most people looked at the man with astonishment.

“Are you a businessman?” the host asked as she was curious how the latter knew about Isley.

“No. However, I have always been interested in business news, thus I follow them. That’s how I know the name of the daughter of the richest man in the world. She is the one who is currently managing her family’s company,” the man said, and the host nodded her head.

“That’s great. Never knew that a hobby of just watching something might earn something in return,” the host joked, and the crowd laughed while the man chuckled, feeling embarrassed.

He wasn’t interested in what was being gifted, but when he thought of his mother and sister, his eyes lit up, thinking that he would just give them the card so that they could go and buy whatever they wanted.

“Thank you so much,” the host said as she nodded to the man, and the man nodded in return.

“Next question. Among the two, who is Ivanna Barnes and who is Isley Alessandro?” the host asked.

“The lucky number is six hundred and ninety-three,” the host said as the number stopped on the screen.

By luck or by fate, it was Fiona. Seeing who it was, the Barnes together with Floyd frowned. They wanted to send someone to talk to the Host but knew that it was impossible. They could only watch while inwardly hoping that she wouldn’t win. They believed that such a person wasn’t meant to enjoy a good life.

“Miss, can you please tell us who Ivanna is?” the host asked in a soft voice, but Fiona’s eyes darkened. She didn’t want to hear that bitch’s name anywhere, but it seemed that it was taunting her whenever she went.

However, she was also aware that everyone’s eyes were on her and that it wasn’t the city that her family ruled, thus she could only suppress the bitterness, hatred, and anger in her.

“Uhm. My name is Fiona Bakers,” she introduced herself as she thought that since she had found an opportunity to be on the TV and the limelight was on her, she might as well use it well.

Hearing her say her name, the host’s eyes, which had initially been full of softness upon seeing such an innocent face, were now full of disdain as she wondered how she had been so confused. The young lady wasn’t as innocent as she looked.

“My family…”

“Excuse. You are supposed to answer the question so that the fashion show can continue. We don’t want to know about your family,” the person seated in front of her turned and interrupted her coldly, stunning her and everyone. The microphone that had been in front of Fiona was also in front of the lady when she turned around.

“You…” Fiona wanted to scold her, but when she noticed everyone was looking at her strangely, she stopped herself.

“Please, miss, can you stop wasting time and answer the question?” the host said sharply as she was displeased with what was going on.

Fiona glared at the host, but the host just stared at her calmly as if she didn’t care at all. Though she had realized that no one seemed to care about her or her family in the capital city, seeing them treating her as if she were invisible, her face turned ugly. She wanted to complain or even slander Ivanna, but when she felt all eyes on her, she panicked as she thought that if she dared to slander Ivanna in front of everyone, Ivanna’s family might bankrupt her family, or even the audience might do something to her when she left.

“She is the second one,” she said as she gritted her teeth.

“Correct. Congratulations,” the host said, shocking everyone.

Kyrell and Abby stared at Fiona deeply. Even Floyd had failed to realise who Ivanna was, but Ivanna’s nemesis seemed to know her despite Ivanna wearing a mask. However, they soon asked themselves whether Fiona knew Ivanna’s real identity or not. They glanced at each other, seeing the seriousness in each other’s eyes, before looking at the stunned girl.

Unlike the others who had answered the questions before her, Fiona wasn’t asked a question after that, as she had gotten to the bad side of the host, even ruining most of the people’s moods, so they didn’t want to listen to her voice.

“The questions segment is up. We are going to continue with our fashion show. Are you guys excited for the grand finale?” she asked as she smiled brightly, looking at the people seated below the stage.

“Yes,” people shouted, some screamed excitedly as the grand finale meant that they were about to see their idol, Averett, for those who had come for him, while others for Nick. In short, everyone was excited apart from Fiona, whose face was dark; even her minions didn’t dare shout, afraid of angering her. They could only show excitement in their eyes and not scream like the others.

“Let the countdown start!” the host said before hurriedly walking to the side.

After ten seconds, Averett and Ivanna walked in holding each other’s hands. The audience was dumbfounded when they saw how stunning they looked that they even forgot to shout, even for those who had prepared themselves.

Averett was wearing a mask, but when they reached the last corner, he took off his mask, winked at his fans for wearing it again, and left with Ivanna.

When they left, the audience came back to reality.

“Aaah. Hubby,” someone screamed, making the others remember that the man was Averett just as they were about to applaud. Nick and Isley walked in, Nick also wearing a mask, but unlike Averett’s, he didn’t take his mask off.

“Why didn’t he take off his mask?” someone asked when Nick and Isley walked out.

“I am most curious about Miss Barnes and Miss Alessandro’s faces. How I wish we could see their faces, even if it is just a glimpse,” another side.

Just as they were discussing and applauding, Averett walked in together with Ivanna, wearing a different outfit and his face not covered, making his fans scream in happiness.
Averett had a smile on her face, and when he halted to pose, he winked at his fans, who shouted more crazily as if he wanted to show Nick that he had more fans than him. Ivanna knew what was on his mind. She chuckled as he resisted the urge to shake her head, as she thought that he was just as childish as her sister had said.
