Chapter 173 Turn Self In

Chapter 173 Turn Self In
“Oh wow, didn’t think she would turn herself in like I had advised,” Marcel said.

“Well, she did.”

“I will be at the station soon,” Marcel said.

“Alright, Detective Jones ended the call.

“It seems Adrian being shot made her realize what she has done.” Aurora said.

“That’s crazy. It had to take her son being hurt for her to do the right thing,” Charlie said.

“I need to go now,” Marcel said.

Aurora nodded. “I will head back to the hospital and also inform my parents about all that has been going on because they do not know yet.”

“Alright, but stay here with Charlie. I will ask my bodyguard to come accompany you to the hospital. I do not want you driving yourself alone, not after what has happened.”

Aurora nodded.

Marcel hugged her and kissed her cheek. “Please take care,” Marcel said.

Aurora nodded. “You too, and please update me later.”

Marcel nodded. He kissed her forehead before walking out.

Aurora watched him from the window till he drove off.

At the police station, Detective Jones arrived and went to the interrogation room. He had told the others that he would be the one to interrogate her. Jones sat down facing her.

Cynthia looked up at him. She sat down like she owned the place.

“After months of interviewing you in this same place for your husband’s case, you are here again,” Detective Jones smirked.

Cynthia was silent.

Jones brought out his recorder and also pressed something on his laptop.

“Please go ahead and state all your crimes,” Jones said.

At that moment, Marcel arrived and walked into the monitor room to listen to what she would say.

“I had attempted to kill Aurora Whitmore, but unfortunately for me, my son got shot instead and is now struggling for his life.”

“Why are you trying to kill Aurora Whitmore?”

“Because of Marcel. I wanted to take the person he cares about the most from his life. I wanted to kill Aurora so I could shatter him completely and make him go really crazy,” Cynthia said.

She had seen how he reacted when someone had poisoned Aurora. So she knew killing Aurora would make him go completely out of his mind.

Marcel clenched his fist tightly as he heard this. Cynthia was actually right. She would have shattered him completely if she had succeeded in hurting Aurora.

“Wow, so what do you stand to gain?”

“So I can take the company after and become chairwoman.”

Jones typed on his laptop “Go on. State your other crimes.”

“That is all,” Cynthia said.

Jones was surprised. “That is all?”

Cynthia nodded. “What were you expecting? That I say I killed my husband?”

“Didn’t you kill him?” Jones asked.

“I didn’t,” Cynthia said confidently. She felt they did not have evidence to prove her other crimes.

She understood the law. Since she came to report herself and pretended she regretted her mistake, especially since she had not succeeded in actually hurting Aurora, she would only get 2 to 5 years in prison.

Jones smiled. He took the flash drive from his pocket and inserted it into the laptop, then clicked it to play before turning it for her to see.

“Adrian?!” Cynthia called in shock when she saw her son on the video. Tears rolled down her eyes.

“Listen to what he had to say,” Jones said.

“How did…” Cynthia wanted to ask how they got it, but she stopped and decided to listen.

Cynthia’s face turned pale by the time the video was done playing.

She was shocked that Adrian had actually heard everything that was said that day, including the fact that Henry wasn’t his father.

She looked around and saw the CCTV, meaning she was being recorded.

She did not want the whole world to know that Adrian was not the son of Henry. He would be ridiculed and bullied all his life for not being a biological child.

She immediately closed the laptop with shaking hands. Jones looked at her shaking hands.

“Your son told us all you did and even recorded your conversation. We already checked the video, and it’s your voice speaking to a man called Pascal.”

“As we speak, we are tracking Pascal down.”

“So I will give you another chance. Confess your crimes,” Jones said.

Cynthia smiled sadly. Tears rolled down her eyes as what she had just watched replayed in her head. Adarin’s statement proved he had planned to kill himself, and she was sure he had done it to pay her for all she did.  For lying to him all these years and killing his father. She knew him hurting himself would be the only thing that would move her to confess. She was glad he was still breathing and was not dead.

“I will ask again. Are you ready to confess your crimes?” Jones said.

Cynthia sobbed again. She looked up at Jones with tear-stained eyes.

“Yes. I killed my husband, I attempted to kill Marcel several times, and I also tried to hurt Aurora,” Cynthia said.

Jones had recorded what she said, and the monitor room also did a video recording.

Jones smiled. “See, it was not so hard, wasit?”

Cynthia clenched her fist tightly.

“Guards!” Jones called, and a police officer walked in.

“Handcuff her and take her to a cell,” Jones said.

The female police officer nodded and took Cynthia away.

“Finally,” Jones said.

Marcel, who had been watching the interrogation, let his tears fall. She had actually killed his father.

“Thank you, Detective, for your assistance all this time,” Marcel said.

“I’m just doing my job,” Jones said.

“Still, thank you, because you dedicated yourself to this case even when it wanted to be closed. You and your team continued searching for my father’s killer.”

Jones smiled. “Like I said, I was doing my job.”

Marcel bowed his head at him. “I will take my leave now.”

Jones was surprised. He had bowed his head that low in respect. He never knew the almighty young Marcel could do that.

Jones nodded at him and watched him leave the station.

Marcel called Aurora and updated her on all that had happened, and Aurora felt so relieved that Cynthia has finally confessed her crimes.

“I’m on my way to the hospital now. Are they done with the surgery?” Marcel asked.

“No. This type of surgery will take a few more hours before it’s done.”

“Okay, I will see you there.”

“Okay.” Aurora ended the call.

She had told her parents about what was happening, and they were lucky and shocked. They had told her they would be at the hospital soon.

After about half an hour, Marcel arrived at the hospital. Marcel and Aurora hugged. She wrapped her hands around him.

“I’m glad you finally know who killed your father, and now you can seek justice.”

Marcel nodded. “Yes, now justice will be served.”

“Is Sandy not here with you?” Marcel changed the topic. He did not want them discussing his father because it hurt.

“She had to go home. But she promised to be back.”

Marcel nodded.

“It’s getting dark. You should go home. I will stay here and wait,” Marcel said.
