Chapter 160 Vacation
Chapter 160 Vacation
Unknown to Aurora, they would be visiting two different countries on this trip. Marcel had promised they would go on a trip after graduating from high school, but the events that followed, like them preparing for university, her being poisoned, and the court case, made it impossible for them to go on that vacation. But now he would make sure they did. After her birthday trip, he would surprise her with another trip.
When they settled down on the first-class premium flight, they both sighed in relief. If they were using his jet, they wouldn’t have needed to be in such a hurry.
But his jet was being used by Robin and Charlie for a business trip. And he had allowed them to use it because he actually wanted to try a commercial flight with Aurora because it would be part of the whole holiday experience.
This particular plane was a new model. So the first class looked like a mini room. When extended with Aurora’s, it looked like a suite. He liked the fact that they could still have the private jet experience.
They were both heading to an island country in Oceania. It was like paradise.
Aurora spent yesterday searching about the small island country they were heading to, and she loved it and was excited to swim in the rivers.
The flight was long since they were going to a different continent entirely.
After hours and hours of eating, smiling, and making out on the flight, they arrived.
As they got down from the international flight, they headed to a helicopter that would take them to their resort on a small island in the middle of the sea.
While in the helicopter, Aurora enjoyed the view. She took beautiful pictures and videos to keep as memories.
They landed and got down from the helicopter, then a mini car came to take them to the resort. Aurora enjoyed the ride to the resort.
“Marcel, isn’t it so beautiful? This is the best birthday ever!” Aurora screamed.
Marcel smiled.
They got to the resort and saw it was so beautiful, and there were trees all around.
“This is paradise,” Aurora said “Marcel, we really needed this,” she held him and said.
“Yes, we did, which is why I brought us here.”
Aurora gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Marcel smiled and asked her to kiss him more.
And she did.
They got to the reception and checked in.
She was in awe of how beautiful their room was. The balcony was spacious, and the sea was right at their backyard.
“Wow, this is beautiful,” Aurora said as she pulled off her shoes and headed to the sea at their backyard. Marcel pulled off his shoes too and followed her.
They held hands and walked to the sea together.
“Let’s take a deep breath,” Aurora said.
Marcel did as she said, and they both breathed in and out together. The air was so fresh and so healing.
“How do you feel?” Aurora said.
“It’s calming,” Marcel said.
Aurora nodded “Me too. I feel so calm and at peace. Thank you for bringing me here, Marcel. I needed to be on an island in the middle of nowhere with you, holding hands, taking in fresh air, and having nature around us,” Aurora said.
Marcel looked at her and smiled “I knew what you wanted.”
“Yes, you did, exactly why you are the best thing that happened to me, Marcel,” Aurora said sincerely.
“And you are the best thing that happened to me too, Aurora. You can’t imagine. From you saving me from dying to being the first love of my life and my only one,” he said.
Aurora smiled and kissed him, and he kissed her back.
An older couple passing by saw them kissing and smiled.
“Darling, they remind me of us when we were just their age,” the old woman said.
Her husband was holding her hand and staring at her so lovingly. He looked at the young couple and smiled.
“Yes, just like us. We were just like them years back in this same place at this same time,” he said.
The woman smiled as she looked at Marcel and Aurora.
“I’m sure they are the same age as we were. I was about 19 then, and you were 20.”
The old man nodded.
“Yes, I guess so.”
“Should we approach them?” the woman asked.
“Let’s not interrupt their moment, we will get to see them again” the old man said.
The old woman agreed with him.
The next few days were the best ever. It was just her and Marcel enjoying this moment alone. No cell phone, no computer. Marcel wanted to spend these days alone with her without any distractions. They had done a lot of activities together, played a lot of games, tasted a lot of dishes, and even joined the resort parties. They even ended up meeting that old couple that told them their story, and it was so similar to theirs. The old man was a billionaire, and hearing how Marcel had started a company at such a young age reminded him of himself. They were seeing other young people living the life they had lived.
Marcel was so glad he met this couple, and he wanted himself and Aurora to end up like this—getting old together, still being in love, and having children and grandchildren.
“Marcel, I want us to keep coming to this place,” Aurora said while they were walking on the beach.
“You do?”
“Yes.”
“Then let’s do it. Let’s come here always,” he said.
Aurora smiled and kissed his cheek “Thank you. It’s so sad we have to leave in two days,” Aurora said sadly.
Marcel nodded “I still have a surprise for you.”
Aurora looked at him “What surprise? We leave in two days? Wow, now I’m so curious,” Aurora said.
“You just have to be patient.”
Aurora pouted. She felt excited though.
After walking for a while on the beach, they were heading back to their room when the receptionist came rushing towards them.
“Is everything okay?” Aurora asked in concern.
The receptionist steadied her breathing “I received a call from a certain Robin. He said he is your friend, and he has been trying to reach you.”
“Did he say why?” Marcel asked. He had told them never to call him.
“He said something serious happened, and it’s important you know.”
Marcel nodded “Thank you.”
The receptionist left, and they returned to their room.
“It must be very serious if he called the resort,” Aurora said.
“I think it is because he would not have called if it wasn’t that serious,” Marcel said as he immediately turned on his phone and plugged it in to charge.
He looked through the phone and saw a series of emails.
Aurora also turned on her phone and plugged it in.
Marcel waited for the phone to charge a bit, and afterwards, he placed a call to Robin.
Robin picked immediately.
“Marcel.”
“What is going on?” Marcel asked.
“The chairman of Malcolm, who was just recently appointed, died in a car accident yesterday, and now the board, which has been influenced by your stepmother, is already talking about placing her as the new chairman.”
Marcel’s face changed, and he clenched the phone tightly.
“It seems this was her plan all along, to become the chairman. And she picked the perfect time, when I am not around, to do it,” Marcel said in annoyance.
“So what will you do now?” Robin asked.
