Even with his face filled with anger, lan still looked infuriatingly handsome, giving off an air of nobility that made people feel like they couldn’t get close to him.
“Sherry, stop causing trouble and go back!” lan was trying to suppress his emotions, but his tone was still that of a command.
Looking at how angry Ian was, I just smiled faintly. “Mr. Kemnis, we’re already divorced. Whether I cause trouble or not has nothing to do with you.”
I knew he was probably so angry because I’d provoked Cathy and it seemed like I’d humiliated her. But I didn’t start this whole thing, and I wasn’t going to back down just because he was unhappy!
My words made lan furrow his brows deeply, and I could see the veins popping up on his forehead and temples.
Did he think I considered our four–year marriage as some kind of foolish act? That I just labeled all the good things I did for him as foolishness? Even though he’d never treated me well, my complete denial of everything related to the Kemnis family suddenly seemed to make him uncomfortable.
“Mr. Kemnis, are you being so insistent because you’ve developed feelings for me?” I teased him as I looked at his hand squeezing the door handle with those bulging veins.
Ian’s hand suddenly pulled back as if he’d been shocked by electricity. There was a trace of disgust in the corner of his eyes. “Stop daydreaming!”
The car door opened, and I smoothly slid into the driver’s seat. I backed up the car and drove away from him. Then I turned the car around and drove in reverse, heading back to the starting point.
I furrowed my brows, lost in thought.
Of course, I didn’t dare to think that Ian had feelings for me. I’d only said that to end this boring conversation. quickly.
Losing the challenge match in the finals meant getting knocked out of the competition right away. The winner could continue challenging other drivers.
As soon as I parked my car, Fredrica hopped in.
“Do I really have to compete against her?” I asked, a bit of discomfort in my voice. “Don’t you think we’re bullying her?”
“She didn’t bully you any less, did she?” Fredrica shot back sharply.
I was speechless for a moment.
Now that I thought about it, I could recall quite a few times when Cathy had bullied me in the past. Even though she’d been away for a while, her influence on my life with Ian was still really obvious.

Back then, lan threw me into the snow, and when I was giving birth to the child, Cathy didn’t even bother to ask how I was. And then there was the divorce from Tan. Even during those four years of our cold marriage, there was so much of Cathy’s scheming involved. There were a lot of things I’d only found out about recently.
Cathy’s cruelty wasn’t just about taking lan away from me, but about dealing a fatal blow every time I saw a glimmer of hope.
It was like she kept sending me back to hell.
1 felt like a puppet on a rubber band that she was manipulating. In this tug of war, I’d gone through countless cycles of what felt like life and death, and it was just unbearably painful.
“So, let’s do it” Fredrica encouraged me, pumping her fist.
I made a sound of agreement and put on the safety helmet.
On the other side. Cathy and her co–driver were walking over, Cathy didn’t look too happy.
Originally, she’d wanted to humiliate me, but things had turned out the opposite, and it was really annoying her,
Her plan had always been to show everyone that she and I were on completely different levels. She thought she was the sky, and I was the ground. As long as I didn’t challenge her and she defeated the top–ranked drivers, her goal would be achieved
But now…
If she won against me, others would think she was bullying someone weaker. But how could she lose?
“Cathy, don’t overthink it. I’ll teach her a lesson with real skill,” Cathy’s co–driver said with an evil smirk.
Cathy got into the car, but her lips were pressed tightly together. “No, I won’t do that.”
“Not only will I not do that, but I’ll also humiliate her by just being a bit faster than her.”
“You…” The co–driver was a bit surprised at first, but then quickly understood what she meant and gave her a thumbs up. “Clever!”
With this approach, outsiders would think that Cathy wasn’t bothered by Fredrica’s challenge and was still being considerate of the weaker opponent. It would make her look better, and on the contrary, I’d be seen as not too smart and would be looked down upon.
“Get ready in your positions…” Just as we finished talking, the starting signal sounded in our ears.
On my side, Fredrica fastened her seatbelt.
I squinted my eyes a little. “Is your eye okay?” Fredrica asked.
She already knew that I was more than capable. After I donated my corneas, we’d taken part in many races together, and I’d never shown any problems. Fredrica had accidentally found some information at home that led her to discover something she hadn’t known before.

I nodded.
“So… shall we play with her first? Let’s just be four or five meters faster than her?” Fredrica had the idea of teasing
Cathy.
“No. Let’s just go all out,” I replied.
I felt my lips curl up slightly. Just as I said that, the starting gun fired.
I slammed my foot down on the accelerator. “Let’s race as Drift King!”
On the other side, Cathy started her car slowly after the gunshot. She planned to use her excellent driving skills to keep a distance of about five meters from me. But unexpectedly, everything went dark in front of her eyes.
A figure suddenly shot out!
“It’s Fredrica’s car!” the co–driver shouted.
The co–driver didn’t recognize me, but she knew Fredrica.
After she shouted that, her eyes widened a lot, and her mouth formed an ‘O‘ shape. She completely forgot to report
the road conditions!
Our car was going incredibly fast, like a phantom, and it seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye.
Yes, it flew!
Cathy obviously didn’t expect my car to be this fast. She was stunned for a moment, but then quickly stepped on the accelerator to catch up.
However, no matter how hard she pressed the gas pedal, my car was getting farther and farther away from hers!
Farther and farther…
Cathy couldn’t figure out what was going on at all, and panic started to rise inside her.
With her mind in chaos, she couldn’t control the car properly, and it started to swerve noticeably.
Her co driver could only keep reminding her, but she couldn’t hear anything in her head.
But gradually, she calmed down.
She must have thought my driving style was just suicidal!
Driving like that was bound to lead to a car crash.
Especially when going through a curve, it was a sure way to have a deadly accident!
She probably thought inexperienced people often got too competitive and drove like that!
Cathy managed to steer her car back onto the track

Chapter 1
She didn’t slow down her speed and just raced forward with all her might.
“Tour hundred meters to the turn. Sherry’s car will definitely flip there. We’ll overtake her there!” she said.
Her lips twisted in a strange way.

turn.
Cathy didn’t slow down and controlled her car to rush through the curve at full speed.
However, to her surprise….
My car didn’t flip!
Not only that, I even accelerated when going through the curve!
The speed was already crazy, and at the curve, it was like I’d been possessed by a ghost, spinning around like lightning!
What was that feeling?
It was like those monsters in ghost movies, able to move from one place to another in an instant.
One moment I was at one end of the track, and the next second, I was at the other end!
No one saw how I got through the curve. When they focused their eyes again, my car had already raced past the
curve!
“It’s the ghost technique! Someone recognized the trick and shouted.
