Chapter 137

Chapter 137

Donny admitted that Nightmare's overall strength was solid, and their teamwork was even stronger. But Kirk right in front of him was no match at all.

Kirk shrugged with a light laugh. "Fights have winners and losers. That's normal."

"My luck's always been pretty good. Maybe I can still give you some trouble."

Donny smiled faintly and didn't reply.

The two charged at each other almost at the same time and started fighting hard. It was clear right away that Kirk was being completely pushed back. Still, he wasn't totally helpless.

Zander watched from the side, secretly shocked. He knew how terrifying Donny's strength was—most people couldn't last three moves against him. Yet this Viper from Nightmare, only at the peak of the Lower Five Realms, was holding out this long against the Commander. He really had some skill.

"Look over here!" The shout snapped Zander back to attention.

He looked up and met Roy's taunting eyes. "Watching's fun, but fighting's better, right?"

Zander gritted his teeth and rushed straight at Roy.

That move was like a signal flare. Both sides jumped into the fight, and the battlefield turned chaotic with battle cries everywhere.

Roy and Chris teamed up to hold back the two Dark Cultivators. Even though Dark Energy was holding them back, years of fighting instinct made up for it. Kirk, though, was in bad shape. Every move from Donny put him in real danger.

This was pure power crushing him. After Lv.9 Cultivation Level, even a small gap felt impossible to cross.

Kirk was getting desperate. If he couldn't stop Donny, everyone behind him was done for.

Just as Donny's final kick came in with no way to dodge, a hand yanked him aside, making the attack miss completely.

Kirk turned and saw it was Chris. Not far away, the Dark Cultivator had already lost the fight.

Kirk grinned, his fighting spirit flaring up again. If one person couldn't win, then two could try. At least they wouldn't lose too badly.

In the messy fight that followed, Donny felt the pressure rise fast. He had to admit he respected Nightmare—these guys' real combat skills were way beyond their actual Cultivation Level. But they were still just a bit short.

They were fighting so hard to protect Ghost Wolf. Donny, though, was dead set on seeing him, even killing him with his own hands.

Donny's eyes turned cold. Dark Energy surged like a wave toward Chris and Kirk.

Under the Dark Energy, the two felt stuck in mud and couldn't fight back. In the dim light, Donny's heavy punches slammed into their chests, sending them flying.

Kirk clutched his chest, coughed up blood, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and gave a bitter laugh. "Damn, the strength gap is just too big."

Chris coughed hard a few times, his voice weak. "We're finished."

Everyone else was tied up by their own fights and couldn't help.

Manuel, watching from nearby, was burning with worry. Noe tried to rush out, but Manuel grabbed him hard. "Are you crazy?"

Noe turned around, eyes red. "They're in danger. I have to help!"

Manuel pressed his lips tight and snapped, "Help? With what? Do you know how strong Donny is out there? Ten of you couldn't block even one of his moves. Going out now is just suicide."

Noe clenched his fists, looked at the hopeless scene outside, and gritted his teeth. "Then what? We can't just watch them die."

Noe was panicking, but Manuel narrowed his eyes, staring calmly at Donny. "Donny won't actually kill them. Besides, it's not the end yet."

Manuel noticed Donny wasn't paying attention to the other fights. His eyes kept drifting toward the palace, like he was looking for a way in.

He patted Noe's shoulder, voice softening a bit. "Noe, just stay here. The palace is the safest place. As long as you don't go out, you're fine."

Manuel shot Jagger a look, then walked straight toward the palace gate.

Outside, he helped the badly injured Kirk and Chris to their feet and met Donny's sharp gaze.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm not here to fight you," Manuel said first.

Donny tilted his head and studied Manuel. "From what I know, Nightmare only has four people. Which one are you?"

Manuel gave a small smile. "I'm not with Nightmare. Just an outsider. You really are strong—the strongest Dark Cultivator I've ever seen."

Donny raised an eyebrow, then smirked. "Flattery won't help. Just tell me where Ghost Wolf is."

Manuel glanced back at the palace helplessly. "We can't stop you anymore, and we're not going to try. If you've got the skill to get in, go find him yourself."

"But from what I see, your real target is Umbral Infusion, right? Once you get that, meeting Ghost Wolf might not matter so much."

Donny shook his head seriously and pointed at the bloody fight nearby. "They want Umbral Infusion. What I want most is to face Ghost Wolf head-on. So there's nothing to talk about."

He straightened up, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "If Ghost Wolf doesn't come out, I'll take you all down one by one. From what I know about him, he wouldn't just watch his people die, would he?"

Dark Energy started swirling in Donny's hands, ready to strike. Manuel quickly spoke up. "You've fought our Commander before. You know his real strength. If he shows up, you might not be able to take Umbral Infusion. Even so, you still want to force him out?"

Donny nodded without hesitation. "I already said it—Ghost Wolf matters more to me than anything else."

As the Dark Energy ball in Donny's hand was about to launch, Manuel thought, This guy is impossible to reason with.

Kirk's wounds were still burning with Dark Energy, making it hard to move. He couldn't dodge even if he tried.

Manuel held the two up, his face growing darker. "I have a feeling..."

Before he could finish, the Dark Energy shot toward them like a cannonball.

Jagger saw it and nearly lost it. He never expected Manuel's few words would make Donny attack without mercy. He tried to rush out, but it was already too late.

At the last second, a bright white energy burst out and wrapped around Manuel and the other two, blocking the deadly strike.

Jagger looked up and saw James standing there proudly. He finally let out a breath, and so did everyone else.

Donny's eyes lit up when he saw James. He looked him up and down with interest. "Looks like you didn't get hurt much. Why were you hiding this whole time?"

James didn't answer. He just waved his hand and used white energy to send the three safely back inside the palace gate.

Once the energy faded, Manuel quickly pulled out a bottle and gave each of them a precious pill.

He turned to James, frowning. "Donny seems even stronger than before. What happened these past few days?"

Kirk, after taking the pill, rubbed his chest and leaned against the wall to relax. "Whatever. At least we got through this round."

Noe came over, eyes red like he was about to cry. He felt like all this disaster started because of Uruguay.
