Chapter 69 Outed 2
Chapter 69 Outed 2
Kaelie’s face twisted into a look of absolute, monstrous ecstasy as she sniffed the blood dripping down Ravelyn's neck.
"Look at her!" Kaelie yelled at the top of her lungs, turning her head toward the entire crowded pavilion so every single student could hear her words. "Look at the great Ravelyn! She isn't a shadow wraith! She is a dragon born! An ancient, forbidden dragon born!"
The entire Vault of the Divine erupted into absolute chaos.
"A dragon born?!" a guy screamed, backing away so fast he tripped over a weapon display, completely wiping out. "Are you freaking kidding me? They're extinct!"
"She's a monster! A literal monster is in the room with us!" a girl shrieked, her voice reaching a hysterical pitch as the crowd stampeden toward the walls, trying to put as much distance between themselves and Ravelyn as humanly possible. Everyone was completely losing their minds.
Even Nina let out a sharp, terrified gasp. She stumbled backward, her face completely pale, her hands covering her mouth as she stared at Ravelyn in total shock and heartbreak. She didn't move forward. She didn't defend her. She just shook her head, utterly terrified. Wow. Thanks for the loyalty, bestie, Ravelyn thought bitterly through the haze of oxygen deprivation.
While the rest of the room was just screaming, pure, unadulterated terror hit Seraphine like a physical blow.
The smug, jealous look on her face completely vanished, replaced by a sudden, freezing dread that made her skin go entirely cold. Everyone knew the ancient legends. A single dragon born was rumored to be more powerful than two hundred legions of angels combined. If Ravelyn was really the descendant of two powerful clans of dragon blood, she wasn't just a rival anymore—she was a living god capable of flattening the entire academy.
Seraphine’s heart hammered against her ribs as she stared at Ravelyn. Fear gripped her throat, but right behind it came a wave of pure denial.
No. There is no way, Seraphine thought frantically, her hands shaking as she pressed herself against the exit doors. There is absolutely no way someone as weak and pathetic as Zuri could possess a bloodline like that. It’s impossible. Kaelie has just completely lost her mind.
Kieran was the first to recover. His face was a mask of pure panic, not because of the secret being out, but because Kaelie was literally strangling the life out of Ravelyn.
"Get your hands off her!" Kieran roared.
He unleashed his raw shadow mana, a massive, towering wave of black liquid darkness that shot across the pavilion like a striking viper. The shadows slammed directly into Kaelie's side, tearing her grip away from Ravelyn's throat and throwing her violently across the pavilion.
Ravelyn collapsed to her knees, clutching her neck and drawing in a sharp, burning breath of oxygen. She coughed violently, her chest heaving as hot tears stung her eyes. But she didn't have time to sit there and cry about it.
Kaelie scrambled up from the rubble, her body bending at an unnatural angle, but her face was purely homicidal now. She lunged straight back at Ravelyn, completely ignoring Kieran and Lucius like they were background extras.
Ravelyn’s vision turned completely red. The volatile dragon core beneath her ribs exploded with raw, untamed fury. She was tired of being choked, tired of the drama, and tired of this fake Kaelie ruining her day. She didn't care about the secret being out anymore. She didn't care about anything except ending this nightmare right now.
With a fierce, primal snarl, Ravelyn snapped the Nocturnis Fan wide open. The midnight-purple steel crackled with explosive, dark electricity. As Kaelie flew through the air toward her, Ravelyn spun on her heel, channeling every single ounce of her dark mana into one lethal, horizontal swipe.
SHLICE.
The bladed fans cut straight through Kaelie’s neck. Clean off.
The high-pitched, metallic screech of the blade slicing through corrupted bone echoed through the hall. Kaelie's head popped completely off her shoulders, her body going instantly limp mid-air. Both pieces crashed heavily onto the marble floor, sliding across the blood-stained stone right at Ravelyn’s feet. Gray, oily smoke immediately began to hiss and pour out of the severed neck, the dark veins under her skin violently burning out into ash.
Kaelie was dead. Again. And honestly, good riddance.
Ravelyn stood over the dissolving corpse, her chest heaving, the bladed fans dripping with thick, dark fluid.
BOOM.
Before anyone could even process the kill, the massive iron double doors at the main entrance didn't just shut—they were violently blasted inward. A heavy, suffocating pressure slammed into the pavilion, so immense that it forced half the students straight to their knees. Talk about dramatic timing.
The Academy Elders had officially arrived to ruin the party.
Three figures cloaked in heavy, shimmering silver robes floated into the room, looking completely cold, merciless, and deeply annoyed. At the front was Elder Malakor, his eyes burning with an intense, holy light as he swept his gaze across the shattered pavilion, the dead body on the floor, and finally, the bleeding cheek of Ravelyn.
"The beast spoke the truth," Elder Malakor’s voice boomed, completely stripping away the remaining silence. He raised a glowing white staff, pointing it directly at Ravelyn's chest like she was a target at a shooting range. "Secure the dragon born. If she resists, execute her on the spot."
"Wait!" Lucius shouted, instantly stepping right back in front of Ravelyn, his silver sword still drawn. Kieran didn't back down either, his shadows flaring aggressively as he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the celestial prince, both of them forming a desperate, protective wall around her. At least the boys were consistent.
But before the elders could even unleash their magic, a strange, low clicking sound echoed from the high walls of the sealed vault.
Ravelyn looked up, her mismatched eyes widening. The protective magical barriers holding the thousands of other divine weapons were beginning to flicker. The golden electricity, the localized frost, the fiery auras on the racks—they weren't dying this time.
They were turning completely pitch-black.
One by one, the ancient artifacts locked in the vault began to rattle violently against their displays, responding to the volatile, exposed dragon bloodline currently pulsing through Ravelyn's veins. The entire room started to shake as thousands of weapons began to turn their blades, breaking free from their pedestals and pointing themselves directly toward the elders.
It looked like the vault wanted a fight too.
