Chapter 595
Chapter 595
Although Tamsin's pregnancy wasn't what Sebastian had hoped for, he wasn't the type to shirk responsibility.
When he learned about the baby, Sebastian had already mentally prepared himself. He planned to set up a trust fund, covering education and healthcare, ensuring the child would never suffer.
Their eyes met, neither willing to back down.
Sebastian knew this decision was unfair to Athena, but the situation was what it was. Sometimes, you have to make tough choices. His indecision in the past had hurt the woman he loved, Christina.
Athena sighed, "Have you thought about how this kid might feel when they grow up and learn the truth?"
"I get it now. You want to have this baby to get closure, to fulfill some duty. If there was no baby, you might not care, but since there is, you're not against it."
"But you'll constantly remind yourself that this kid isn't really yours. You'll leave the child with me and live happily with Christina."
Athena felt exhausted. She sat down and looked out the window. "But have you thought about how it would feel if you were that kid? Wouldn't you feel resentment?"
Yeah.
A kid who wasn't wanted, growing up without their parents.
Even with plenty of material wealth, it wouldn't matter. They'd still be picked on.
Years later, would they become bitter and seek revenge?
Sebastian was at a loss. He opened his mouth but couldn't find the words.
He had planned to leave enough money to ensure the kid would never want for anything. But was that really what the kid would want?
He took a deep breath. "Maybe we should just terminate the pregnancy."
If this kid was going to be a source of endless trouble, it might be better to end it now.
The atmosphere grew icy.
Athena was furious. "You can't solve the problem, so you get rid of the person causing it?"
"Aunt Athena, I'm an adult. I know what I'm doing. Let me think about this."
As Sebastian walked away, Athena felt helpless.
She decided to find Christina.
When Christina heard why Athena was there, she was equally frustrated. "I know what you're thinking. You don't want the family fortune to go to a kid from an orphanage. But let me be clear: neither Estelle nor I care about Sebastian's money."
Moreover, if Athena had anything to do with what happened to Estelle, Christina wouldn't let it go.
Athena's face darkened. "So you think I had something to do with it?"
"I only believe in evidence."
Christina was too tired to argue and walked away.
Everyone was like this.
As if she was the villain.
Athena angrily returned to the office.
Meanwhile, Isadora was hiding in a corner, exhausted and breathing heavily.
Cold sweat dripped down her forehead as a chill spread through her. She couldn't believe her ears—Sebastian wanted to terminate Tamsin's pregnancy.
They had decided to keep Tamsin's baby after careful consideration. But now, if it caused trouble, Sebastian wanted to end it.
It was terrifying. What if Sebastian found out about her pregnancy? Would he choose to terminate it too?
No, no way.
Until her baby was safely born, no one could know.
Isadora steadied herself and was about to leave the hospital when she saw Victor approaching.
Their eyes met.
Victor looked at Isadora in confusion. "What's up with you? Why do I keep seeing you around the hospital?"
Isadora tensed up and rolled her eyes. "What I do is none of your business. You should worry about keeping your position as heir. Tamsin has Sebastian's support."
With that, she turned and walked away.
Victor was furious but helpless. Isadora was right.
With Sebastian's backing, Zach's attitude towards him had changed. Before, Zach would support his new projects. Now, Zach always hesitated, saying he needed to consult Tamsin.
What was there to discuss?
Tamsin had spent years indulging herself, ignoring the business.
Victor, frustrated, headed to the hospital room.
When they met again, neither sibling wanted to speak.
Kaida was worried. "Come on, you two. You promised me that no matter who won, you wouldn't harm each other. We're family. Let's talk things out."
"I came to see you and remind you not to cause trouble. If Estelle's accident was your doing, clean up your tracks and don't drag me into it."
Victor walked out.
As the door closed, Tamsin was furious. "See, that's Victor for you."
She was genuinely hurt.
For years, she had protected Victor and Kaida.
All she wanted was her fair share, but this was how she was treated.
Kaida sighed. "I must have owed you two in a past life. Neither of you gives me peace."
Victor and Tamsin's conflict pained her the most.
No matter who got hurt, she was deeply saddened.
"Rest now. I'll see what's going on and gather some information."
There were caretakers at the hospital, so Kaida wasn't needed.
After a few more words, she left.
Tamsin was even angrier. "Mom says she supports me, but she's not happy about it. Otherwise, she wouldn't have left."
A mother's love is equal, but the favored child is always protected, while the other is exposed.
Though she hated to admit it, Tamsin knew Zach and Kaida would never hand the company to her.
