Chapter 88 Virtue of wisdom

Chapter 88 Virtue of wisdom
Rhea's POV

On our way through the palace, most of the servants and workers we meet stop to stare and ogle at me. Some loudly compliment my looks. I smile softly, doing my best to pretend I have virtues that I do not actually have, like being humble and shy.

"It's no wonder your sister is so envious of you," Gerald compliments as we arrive at a pair of massive iron doors.

"So you do not believe that I am the monster?" I question.

He scoffs loudly. "Only children would believe a sweet, beautiful woman like you could turn into a monster. Though, I wouldn't mind you turning into a monster on me and devouring me." He chuckles, unaware that is exactly what I plan to do.

"I like men with a good sense of humor," I flirt back.

"Does that mean you like me then?" he questions.

"I'm yet to decide," I say, giving him a playful wink.

"Then I'll give you all the reasons to." He smiles, pushing the heavy iron doors open and gesturing for me to enter ahead of him.

I did not expect the library to be this huge. Thousands of leather-bound books lines the towering walls, stretching all the way up to a massive glass dome ceiling that lets the morning sun pour in towards a massive oak desk resting at the center. On the surface of the table there are maps of the palace layout. I walk to the table and he follows.

"This," he says proudly, gesturing to the line traced the map, "is what I was going to present to the Kings. I'm sure it's the  tunnels of the palace the monster has been using to get around. That's how it appeared mysteriously into your Chambers."

An electrifying shock ran through my body. That is the path I used when I attacked the two servants. I have to admit that the man is brilliant, I didn't think anyone would figure that out this soon. But now it increases my reasons to kill him. So I plaster on a smile.

"This is absolutely brilliant," I say. "I have never met a man as profoundly wise as you. You'll save many with this."

His smile grows wide at my compliment, he raises his hand and brushes my cheek. "I... I would do anything to protect a creature as perfect as you."

"Would you?" I whisper seductively, encouraging him.

"With my life!" He swears and I lean further into his hand, tilting my face so his palm cups my cheek.

"Then I believe you are the kind of man I have been waiting for." I tell raising my hand to touch his chest. "But I'm not sure the kings or my sister would agree to us being together."

"They would agree to anything I ask for if I help them capture the monster." He claims, pulling me closer against him, his lips eagerly seeking mine for a kiss.  I kiss him back all while thinking of the Angel Kings.

I reach behind my back and unfasten the ties of my dress. The heavy fabric drops to the floor and I stand before him bare.

He pulls away slightly as his eyes rake over my body with pure lust in his eyes. "Gods, ..." he murmurs, his hands brushing down my bare back. "You are perfect. Every inch of you is—"

Beneath his fingertips, the smooth skin of my shoulders rips and a thick patch of gray fur sprouts through the surface, prickling against his palms.

He blinks in surprise, then chuckles. He looks up at my face, an excited grin on his face. "You want to do this in your wolf form? I must confess, I’ve never done that before... but for you, my beautiful princess, I am happy to try new things."

"Oh, Sir," Whisper into his ear. "I love to play with my prey."

I transform faster.

His smile disappears.

"What... what is..." he stammers as he stumbles backward. His boots trips on the rug, and he hits the table. "You... you're not a wolf..."

I take steps towards him feeling excited. I have always hunted women, I have to admit scaring a man feels different in a  exciting way. Too bad I cannot play with him a little as I don't know when someone will come in here.

"You are the beast...the monster." He mutters in realization, trying to get back to his feet. He looks like he'll piss himself. It would be extremely disgusting to eat a meal that has been pissed on so I charge.

Before he can even open his mouth to scream for help, I tear his face with my long claws before cracking his skull. His brains are the most disgusting meal I have ever had.

I shift back to my human form, feeling disgusted and nauseous. I step over his body to get to my still clean dress. I must get out of here before someone shows up.

Rosia's POV

"Our Advisor Gerald said he has found a way to capture the monster. Why can't we all wait and see who it is when they are captured. If it's your sister, then she'll be punished just like if it were any other person would." Aeries says to break the unending argument between me and his brothers.

"Weren't you supposed to meet with Gerald earlier today for that?" I question but the deafening sound of palace bells suddenly fills the air.

"What's . . . going on?" Aerius asks in surprise just as the door to our imperial dining room bursts open and Silas accompanied by two guards strides in.

Judging from their apprehensive faces, it's obvious that something has gone terribly wrong.

There has been plenty of bad news lately, ever since I made the gravest of mistakes, of bringing my sister here.

"What's the urgent matter?" I question as they quickly approach and bow their heads in respect.

"Your Majesties I am here to report to you that your advisor Gerald has been found dead in the library." Silas informs.
