The Owl Song
Disha felt hesitant even though a few moments ago she was very confident about going to the Rosaria building again tonight. After hearing the crown prince's cry like the night before. The baby seemed to be calling her and she could feel it.
After making sure that Levi was really asleep, she crept towards the large window near the bathroom. The dark room made her have to be careful. She didn't want Nathan to catch her again like yesterday and if that happened again, she didn't know what kind of excuse she could give so that the man wouldn't suspect her.
"It seems safe." She thought as she realized that no one was still awake at this time.
She opened the window carefully and climbed out before finally walking quickly out of the house. The crown prince's cries could still be heard, so heartbreaking that it made her heart ache.
Her heart was beating fast when her feet were standing in front of the window of the crown prince's room, Disha did not realize that her reflection could be seen clearly from inside the bright room.
She faintly heard the voices of two women along with the sound of a baby crying. The shadow of a woman appeared to be moving towards the window. Disha immediately hid behind a tree, just as the woman opened the window to see who was standing outside.
"Who's there? Is there anyone...?" The woman shouted. Disha's body was shaking, she almost got caught if she didn't hide immediately.
The woman was still there, trying to observe the surroundings and make sure that no one was outside. She closed the bedroom window again and locked it.
Hoe...hoe...hoe...
The baby was still crying and this time the crying sounded louder. It seemed she had given the maids a hard time because they didn't know what happened to her and there was nothing they could do to make her stop crying.
Disha chose to remain hidden behind a tree, crouching while waiting for the servants to leave the baby alone in the room like yesterday so she could breastfeed the baby.
The blowing wind made her cold. This city and palace are located between hills and mountains which makes the air cooler than other areas and cities. She waited patiently until her eyes closed several times because she couldn't hold back the feeling of sleepiness.
The sound of an owl perched on a tree made her flinch. She opened her eyes wide and forgot why she was here. After completely recovering consciousness, she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She turned towards the crown prince's room, the room seemed dark and the maid's voice could no longer be heard.
Disha decides to enter now as she cannot stay here any longer. She peeked into the room through the window, she saw a woman sleeping on the sofa in the corner of the room, while the baby was sleeping in the bed.
"The woman is guarding him, what should I do? I can't go inside if there are other people in the room." Her conscience was starting to get restless. She knew that it was impossible for her to be brave enough to go in because the woman might wake up and catch her trying to breastfeed the crown prince.
Disha started to doubt and thought about giving up on her plans. Maybe she could come tomorrow night if she didn't make it in tonight. However, she could hear soft crying from inside the room.
Yes, the baby was still crying even though she was asleep. It seemed that all the maids were too tired from taking care of him and looking after him all the time. With her love and instinct as a mother, she decided to open the window and enter the room.
"It's locked, the windows are locked. What should I do?" She couldn't open the window because the woman locked it from the inside. But she didn't give up, she tried to pull the window and when her efforts didn't work, she decided to pry the window open with a wire.
"Geez, I'm just like a thief." She really didn't think that she would do this to breastfeed a baby who still couldn't be sure whether the baby was hers or not.
"I did it! The window is open!" She couldn't believe she could do this.
She prepared to go into the room and was careful not to step on anything that would make a sound and wake her up.
She stepped towards the bed where the baby was lying and when she was on the edge of the bed, the baby opened her eyes and amazed Disha with the color of her eyes which were exactly the same as Prince Leonidas' eyes.
Disha stood still, frozen and motionless. Her tears just flowed even though she tried not to cry. This time there was no longer any reason to deny that this baby was the child he handed over to the man in the silver mask.
This beautiful baby looked at her gently, smiling as if welcoming her. Disha's hands were shaking as she tried to hold the baby. She took him into her arms, kissed him forehead gently and hugged him tightly.
She didn't want to waste time, she had to breastfeed the baby immediately before the maid woke up and realized that she was in this room.
This baby drank her milk greedily, as if he was very hungry. This was the happiest moment in her life, being able to hug her son like this even though she could only do it when everyone was awake at night.
"Be patient, darling. I really believe you are my son. I will take you away and I will show you to your father, so he will believe that you are his son. I promise!"
"Prince, don't cry anymore! We all love you-"
Suddenly, there was a voice from a woman sleeping on the sofa. The woman was delirious and it really made Disha almost have a heart attack. She realized that now it was time for her to leave because the woman could wake up at any time.
"I have to go now!"
