111. EPILOGUE - HAPPY FOR ONE MORE

“Our baby… fuck,” he murmured, his voice thick with disbelief and a dawning wonder.

He looked back at me, and the awestruck expression on his face, the vulnerability in his usually controlled gaze, was so unexpected, so utterly disarming, that a genuine, unrestrained smile finally broke through my tears.

Seeing him like this, so undone, so utterly captivated by the life growing within me, filled me with a happiness so profound it stole my breath away.

“I’m pregnant, I guess,” I whispered shyly, the words barely audible. A dark chuckle rumbled in his chest, vibrating against me.

“You guess? Baby, I will fuck you the moment we get home to prove you that you’re expecting. You’ve given me another purpose to live.” The dark pronouncement hung in the air, a promise, a threat, a declaration of love in Vincent’s unique, possessive language.

With those words, he cupped my chin in his hand, tilting my face up to his, and smashed his lips against mine in a kiss that was both fierce and tender, possessive and adoring.

That day blurred into a whirlwind of emotions.

I somehow managed to introduce Vincent to my bewildered parents, who were initially shocked by his profession, the word ‘detective’ hanging heavy in the air.

But Vincent, ever the charmer when he chose to be, turned on the full force of his charisma.

He was disarmingly polite, genuinely engaging, winning them over with his carefully chosen words and that devastatingly handsome face.

They were charmed, completely and utterly. They actually didn't know the darkness which he was hiding with just a smile.

And later, when we finally retreated to the sanctuary of our apartment, Vincent kept his promise.

He reminded me, again and again, in the most primal and intimate way possible, that I was carrying his child, that we were bound together by more than just love and obsession, by a life taking root within me. By filling me with his essence, his passion, his claim, he branded me as his in a way that words could never capture.

And I loved every single second of it. Every touch, every whispered word, every possessive embrace.

This dark, beautiful man, my husband, had given me the greatest gift imaginable – a child, a future, and a love that was as fierce and untamed as he was.

And as I drifted asleep in his arms, the promise of that future warmed me from the inside out, chasing away the lingering shadows, leaving only the radiant glow of love and the quiet miracle growing within.
