Chapter 13 My Son is a Genius?

Eddie hesitated for a moment and said somewhat sensitively, "That was in the past, I don't care who my dad is now."

  Angela was a bit surprised.

  "Why?"

  "Carlos."

  Eddie suddenly mentioned this name.

"He is my real dad, right?"

Angela's eyes widened, speechless. How did Eddie know this?

Eddie saw her confusion and said, "I just guessed. Mom, if you admit he's my dad, does that mean I can't stay with you?"Mom

Angela held back the bitterness in her heart and said, "Don't you want to go back to The Murphy household? They can give you the best life."

"I don't want to!" Eddie hugged Angela tightly. "If acknowledging him means I can't be with you, then I don't want him as my dad! I just want to be with you, forever!"Mom

He just wanted to be with Angela forever.

Eddie asked, "Mom, are you divorced from Dad?"

  Angela nodded.

He continued, "So you don't have feelings for Dad anymore?"

  Angela smiled.

  "No."

When she was pregnant with Eddie, she hadn't even seen Carlos. Where would the feelings come from? More accurately, she didn't even know if she had feelings for Carlos.

Ironically, before she found out she was pregnant, she thought children were the result of two people in love. But when she found out she was carrying Carlos's child, her maternal instincts suddenly sprouted.

Perhaps because she lacked parental love growing up, she wanted to give all the love she missed to her baby.

Angela held Eddie tightly. She couldn't lose Eddie at all. She wouldn't let Carlos take Eddie away, even if it meant fighting to the death.

  At the hospital.

Lily Brown had just entered the lab and saw a man placing a thick stack of documents on the table. Upon seeing her, he smiled and greeted, "Ms. Brown, hello, are you on duty today?"

  "Yes."

Lily recognized the man as Carlos's assistant.

Her eyes fell on the stack of documents and two blood samples. She walked over, picked them up, and asked, "What's this?"

Mike said, "These are the files Mr. Murphy asked me to investigate."

Lily pursed her lips, feeling suspicious, but remained calm on the surface.

  "I see."

Mike remained silent for a moment, not answering.

Lily's status was special; she was someone Carlos liked.

Initially, Carlos was seriously injured and fell into a coma in that car accident, all because he was protecting her. At the time of the incident, if he hadn't held her tightly in his arms, she wouldn't have been injured so severely.

Originally, The Murphy and Brown families had set a wedding date, but when Carlos was critically injured and fell into a coma, Lily went abroad to study. Two years later, when Carlos woke up, she returned from overseas.

Sophia had never liked her. When Carlos had the accident, she didn't care until he woke up, and she came back, mentioning the engagement again. Such a woman was heartless and fickle, and Sophia disagreed.

But regardless, she was the most special person in Mr. Murphy's heart.

  Mike turned and left.

Lily walked over, reviewed the files quickly, and was shocked.

Angela, how could it be her?

She had heard of this woman.

When Carlos was in a coma, The Murphy family arranged a woman for him to marry, to have children for Carlos.

Seven years ago, she disappeared without a trace, and her whereabouts were unknown.

Lily was surprised to find out that she was Sidney's suspected birth mother.

Lily was a master's degree holder and held a high position in the hospital.

Years ago, she had heard that Sophia had always wanted to operate on Angela, but Lily had always obstructed it. She didn't want another woman to have a child for The Murphy family.

Because of her interference, Angela hadn't conceived.

She had arranged and prevented all of this.

Three years ago, Carlos's subordinates suddenly brought a child back from an orphanage. After several rounds of paternity tests, it was confirmed that Sidney was indeed Carlos's biological child, but the birth mother was unknown. Lily keenly sensed that this child must have been born to Angela but somehow ended up in an orphanage.

Carlos also believed that this child was born to Angela. Due to the child's weak health and neglect, he held deep hatred towards Angela.

However, Lily knew that whether or not Sidney had intellectual issues, if it was revealed that Sidney was born to Angela, it would not bode well for her.

Now was a good opportunity to turn the situation around.

Furrowing her brow, Lily suddenly picked up a sterilized syringe, collected her own blood sample, swapped it with Angela's blood sample, disposed of Angela's blood sample as medical waste in the shredder, and then left the room.

  The next day.

The paternity test report from the institution reached Carlos's hands.

  [Confirmed not biological.]

The report was stamped with a bright red seal.

"Mr. Murphy," Mike asked cautiously, "The report shows Sidney is not Ms. Parker's biological child. Do we still need to verify Ms. Parker and the child's identities?"

Carlos sneered. "I don't want to waste time on a woman who is disloyal to me."

Mike asked, "So , release her?"

  Carlos said, "Let her go."

He crumpled the report into a ball, turned his office chair around, his brows furrowed.

‘Could it be that Angela really wasn't Sidney's birth mother? Then who was Sidney's birth mother? Who was the woman who had a child with him and heartlessly abandoned it?’ he thought.

He had gone to such lengths to clarify Sidney's identity because his therapist had suggested that Sidney might not be intellectually disabled, but rather had psychological issues.

A mother played a very important role in a child's life, and a child needed a complete family to grow up healthily.

Fatherly and motherly love were inseparable.

Sidney didn't have a mother from a young age, which was why he was unwilling to speak.

  Suddenly, Carlos thought of Eddie.

Unlike Sidney, Eddie seemed exceptional, gifted, and intelligent. Perhaps, as the psychologist suggested, only with gentle and nurturing maternal love could a child muster the courage to explore the world.

  At The Murphy Mansion.

The door to Angela's room opened.

Several bodyguards stood at the door, coldly saying, "Ms. Parker, you can leave now."

Angela stood up suddenly, "Has the paternity test results come out?"

The bodyguard coldly replied, "That's not something you should be asking about."

Angela was stunned. She had asked out of concern and only realized belatedly that she might not have the right to know.

Eddie walked over and held her hand gently, saying, "Mom, let's go home!"

  On the way home.

Angela and Eddie sat in a taxi, the window rolled down, a gentle breeze blowing.

As the car passed by a luxurious school gate, Angela saw a few words "Woodberry School."

It was said that Woodberry School had the best educational resources.

Angela looked at Eddie. She also wanted Eddie to attend Woodberry School like Sidney.

  Donovan suddenly became serious.

With a hint of sarcasm, he said, "I don't know where you heard this from, but do you think you can compare yourself to Mr. Murphy? He donated 50 million dollars to Woodberry School."

So, does Carlos' son not deserve the same privilege?

Angela's view of Woodberry School began to change.

While the school's ethos was about being knowledgeable, diligence, humble, and virtuous, the principal seemed to prioritize only profit.

  Eddie suddenly chuckled.

Surprised, Donovan asked, "Eddie, what's so funny?"

Eddie smiled, an elegant curve hanging on his lips like a little gentleman.

"My mom is great, gentle, and perfect. She has given me the warmest love in the world, and her love is the most precious treasure in my life. She doesn't need to compare with anyone; she is priceless!"

  Angela was deeply moved.

  "Eddie."

"I don't have a dad, so many people may bully my mom and be biased against her. But in my heart, my mom is not unwanted by men, but no one is worthy of her!"

After saying that, he stood up and took Angela's hand.

  "Mom, let's go!"

Eddie and Angela left the principal's office.

Donovan was shocked. Such profound words came from a seven-year-old's kid!

An assistant approached and said, "Donovan, this kid is a real genius. The test was super tough, and he was the only one who aced it, finishing in just over ten minutes! Are you really going to let such a talent slip away?"

Donovan rushed out, but the mother and son were already gone.

  At the school gate.

Angela and Eddie walked hand in hand towards the bus stop.

"Mom, if I didn't get accepted, will you be sad?" Eddie worried about Angela's disappointment.

Angela replied, "Why would I be? It's just because I'm not capable enough and looked down upon by others."

Eddie retorted, "But you're not incapable! Henna said that you gave up your career to take care of me when I was sick!"

Angela pinched Eddie's little cheek and said, "Eddie, I'm so lucky to have a wonderful son like you!"

Eddie's face lit up with a smile, as if he could melt the coldest snow in winter.

In reality, he didn't care about attending any prestigious school.

A year ago, he had already earned one billion dollars.

To support Eddie, Angela took on multiple jobs and traded in the stock market in her spare time. She had opened a trading account.
