"Eddie," Angela hugged him, "don't worry about them."
Thank goodness she still had Eddie.
Eddie had always been very caring towards her, protecting her like a little angel.
Sophia was very angry, and Carlos coldly said, "Get out."
Sophia was taken aback.
"Carlos?"
"Everyone, out!"
In The Murphy household, Carlos's position was unquestionable.
Even Sophia didn't dare to easily provoke him.
Reluctantly, she exited the room.
The door closed.
Carlos walked to the bedside, holding Sidney.
Sidney pointed towards Angela.
Carlos felt something was off with Sidney and set him down.
As soon as the child landed, he walked to the bedside, climbed onto the bed, tenderly held Angela's face, and gently blew on her bandaged wound, his eyes seeming to ask, "Does it still hurt?"
Angela seemed to understand his eyes and immediately smiled.
"Good boy, Sidney, I'm not in pain anymore."
Eddie chimed in, "Mom bled so much, and you say it doesn't hurt?"Mom
He looked at Sidney.
"Mom got hurt protecting you."
When trouble arose, everyone in The Murphy household surrounded Sidney, ignoring her.
It was Eddie who found the first aid kit, bandaging her wound. Fortunately, the injury wasn't deep and wouldn't leave a scar.
If it had been slightly off, hitting a vital area, Eddie didn't dare to think about it.
He had seen Madison, who was taking care of Sidney, push Angela, so he was a bit angry.
Sidney looked a bit guilty, furrowing his brows as if blaming himself.
Angela saw this and felt a warm feeling in her heart.
Who said Sidney was intellectually disabled?
He seemed to understand everything.
"Sidney, it's okay, don't worry."
Sidney reached out, hugging Angela. His little face nuzzled against her, then he looked up at her with affectionate eyes.
Angela's heart melted as she couldn't help but reach out and gently pinch his cheek.
"Good boy, Sidney, I really don't hurt anymore."
Carlos's expression was somewhat strange.
Sidney's intimacy with Angela showed that he really liked her.
Sidney never got close to anyone.
Even Madison, who took care of him, was carefully chosen, and ordinary people couldn't get close to him.
Yet, he actively showed affection towards Angela.
Carlos asked, "What did you do to him?"
Angela furrowed her brow, not immediately understanding.
"What do you mean?"
"Why is Sidney suddenly so close to you?" Carlos squinted suspiciously, "What did you do to him?"
Before he could finish, Eddie and Sidney turned their heads in unison, glaring at him, their expressions exactly the same, as if warning him not to speak roughly to Angela.
Carlos's mouth twitched, his tone softened as he looked at Sidney, "Sidney, do you like her?"
Sidney shyly pursed his lips and nodded, not hiding his feelings at all.
Carlos always cherished him.
Whatever Sidney liked, he would go to great lengths to provide.
"Then I'll keep her by your side, okay?" Carlos asked gently.
Eddie suddenly tensed up, saying to Sidney, "No! Mom is mine, you can't take my Mom."
"Eddie!" Angela patted Eddie's head, "I won't leave you, but you and Sidney need to get along well, okay? You're a little gentleman, you need to understand manners and love and help other kids."
Reluctantly, Eddie said, "But you're mine, no one can take you away!" His possessiveness towards Angela was strong.
If anyone dared to take his Mom, he would consider that person an enemy!
Soon, a look of disappointment appeared on Sidney's face.
Carlos picked up Sidney and said to Angela, "Rest well, the results of the paternity test will be out tomorrow."
Angela asked, "If it proves he's not my child, will you let me go?"
Carlos looked at her coldly.
"You really hope he's not your child, don't you?"
Sidney also looked at her, his eyes flickering, his face showing a hint of vulnerability and loneliness.
Angela was stunned.
"I..."
"Forget it! I shouldn't have expected a woman like you to have any sense of responsibility."
With that, Carlos carried Sidney and left.
Sidney lay on Carlos's shoulder, only showing his little face, staring at Angela eagerly, as if wanting to say something but remaining silent.
It wasn't until Carlos walked away with him, closing the door gently behind him.
Eddie asked, "Mom, do you like Sidney more than me now?"
Angela chuckled.
"How could that be? Mom will always love Eddie the most."
Eddie said, "That man said Sidney is your child and wants to do a paternity test, is that true?"
Angela said, "He's not my child."
After much hesitation, she decided to tell Eddie about his identity.
"Eddie, I haven't told you something. You have a brother."
Eddie's eyes widened in disbelief.
"A brother?"
Angela said, "The doctor said you were twins, but your brother didn't breathe when he was born prematurely. He passed away while still in Mom's body."
As she spoke, Angela's eyes reddened with sadness.
"I could only save one of you."
"Why did my brother die?" Eddie asked, puzzled.
Angela said, "The doctor said I had poor nutrition during pregnancy, leading to premature birth. You were lucky, I saved you. Do you remember, you weren't very healthy as a child."
Eddie nodded, seeming to understand vaguely.
Angela looked around.
The Murphy Mansion was very grand.
If she hadn't selfishly kept Eddie by her side, he would have lived in the best house and enjoyed the most lavish lifestyle like Sidney.
Carlos, as a father, had not been neglectful.
He treated Sidney so well, and if he knew Eddie was also his child, he would surely love him the same way.
But because of her, Eddie had suffered alongside her.
Angela said, "During dinner, I heard the servant say that Sidney attends the best school in the entire city, Woodberry School."
Woodberry School was a top-notch institution for the elite, running for fifteen years.
Kids started at age three and were guaranteed spots in foreign universities without needing local exams.
With 15 years of quality education, the tuition alone was $500,000 per year, and even a school uniform cost $50,000 a set.
Woodberry School produced numerous talents every year.
But due to her, she couldn't send Eddie to such a good school.
Angela said with some reluctance, "Eddie, there's something I haven't told you. You've always wanted to know who your real dad is, right?"
