Chapter 177: Stopping Carina
Claudia dressed up the next day for work but her first stop wasn’t the hospital, she first went to Hughes Foods which was reopening again after their ban had been lifted and asked to see Harry.

“Do you have an appointment?”
“This is a family emergency, I don’t have the time to book an appointment.” she scolded the receptionist.

“Mr. Hughes gave us a sound warning today, he doesn’t want to be interrupted, today is a busy day.” the receptionist insisted.
“Well go and tell him that this is a matter of life and death!” Claudia yelled.

The receptionist scampered from behind her desk and hurried towards Harry’s office. She was gone for a few minutes when Nathan walked into the lobby and saw Claudia.

“Nathan! Good to see you here, I really need to talk to Harry, can you help me?” she said.

Nathan also stopped in his tracks thinking of how to explain to her that Harry wanted nothing to do with Carina.

He only allowed her on the team because Nathan insisted on it and also because Harry knew how good she was when it came to getting the job done so he didn’t argue any further.

“I’m sorry, but you can tell me I will relay the information to him,” he replied.

Claudia sighed when she realized what was going on, Carina was right to think of an abortion after all, Harry was done with her.

“Never mind,” she said and started to walk away. Nathan chased after her, 
“You came here for a reason so let me help you. Just tell me what it is.” he said.

Claudia stared at him wondering what good it would do if she gave Nathan that information.

“Carina is pregnant…” she said and stared at Nathan whose eyes went wide with shock,
“This time it is Harry’s baby but here’s the twist, she’s trying to get an abortion today.

“An abortion?” Nathan screeched.
“Yes, she says she can’t let what happened the first time, happen again. That’s why I’m here, I came to give Harry a chance but never mind. I will just book an appointment for her.” Claudia said.

Nathan looked horrified when he heard that report,
“What? But why…”

“This is the end of my discussion with you. Have a nice day.” 

Claudia walked out while Nahan was still trying to process the news, he dashed into the elevator and straight to Harry’s office, the receptionist had left so Harry was alone. Nathan locked the door behind and with a stern look he looked into Harry’s eyes.

“I have news for you.” he said but Harry scoffed,
“If it’s about Carina don’t bother, I heard her sister was here. I’m done with all of that.” he said dismissively.

Nathan shook his head, “So you are okay with the abortion?”

Harry shot him a look visibly lost, “What abortion?”
“She’s pregnant”

Harry chuckled, “I thought she lost the baby some months ago.”
“No, she’s pregnant and this time it’s your baby, and she’s getting an abortion today.” Nathan informed Harry who shot to his feet.

“A baby? An abortion?” he echoed and Nathan only nodded without saying a word, “Why does she want to have an abortion.”
“I don’t know,”

“It’s simple, because she never really loved me. She was desperate to keep that guy’s baby. Even went to the extent of drugging me and making me believe the child was mine. Now she’s planning an abortion for mine…” 

“Harry you can’t sit here and conclude on why she’s trying to make such a decision, you need to go and talk to her.” Nathan urged him.

“What is there to talk about when she’s already made up her mind?” Harry shot back.
“Go and talk to her, if she still goes ahead with it, then at least you know that you tried.”

Harry slowly sat back down, “Let’s get back to work” he muttered. Nathan shook his head and opened the door,
“Have a nice day Harry,” he said and left.

Harry dropped his pen and sighed, he was frustrated again, why was this happening at this time? When he was trying to get over her. He picked up his phone and held his breath, what was he going to do? Ask her to keep it? But that was the problem, keeping the child meant keeping Carina in his life forever and this was the woman that hurt and betrayed him.

He clutched his chest trying to decide on what to do, it physically hurt when he remembered how Carina dumped him so why was he trying to call her?

“Focus Harry, focus!” he yelled at himself. Just as he was about to put the phone back down he remembered how much he loved her, he remembered all the nights she came through for him. Maybe it wouldn’t be bad to keep the child, maybe just maybe they could try again.

He sighed, and called her as he listened to the ringback tone he knew it would be too late to go back and pretend that he ever called so he waited patiently for her to pick up.
“Hello…” Carina’s voice sounded at the end of the phone. 

Harry was quiet for a while, so Carina said hello again,
“How are you?” Harry asked.

“I’m okay, how about you?” 
“I’m fine.”

“Good to know” she replied patiently waiting for Harry to speak but he also sat on the other end of the phone waiting for her to break the news. But who was he fooling? This was Carina, she never spoke until she was cornered.

“Are you busy today?” he asked.
“Not really, unless there’s a meeting at the office.” she replied.

“Come to the office, I need to see you,” he said.
“What is it about?”

He exhaled, “It’s urgent, you will know when you get here so please get here now.”
“I have a doctor’s appointment…”

“It’s not more important than what I have to show you.” he cut in. 
“Okay, I will be there in a jiffy.”
