Chapter 239: She Was Pregnant!
Chapter 239: She Was Pregnant!
Nora’s POV
Camilla thought I was pregnant.
"Alexander," she said, her voice barely containing her excitement as she watched me push food around my plate, "I think you should take her to see the doctor tomorrow."
Alexander and Aiden's heads snapped up in perfect synchronization, identical expressions of alarm flashing across their faces.
"You're not feeling well?" they asked in unison.
I nearly choked on my water at their synchronized panic. The resemblance was uncanny—Aiden truly was Alexander's carbon copy, right down to their protective instincts.
"I'm fine," I assured them quickly.
"I'm taking you tomorrow," Alexander declared, his tone brooking no argument. "End of discussion."
"Fine," I sighed, knowing resistance was futile against Claflin stubbornness. Maybe the doctor can confirm what I'm suspecting.
After dinner, Aiden performed his goodnight ritual with theatrical flair, bowing formally to James and Camilla like a tiny gentleman.
"Goodnight, Great-Grandpa. Goodnight, Grandma," he said sweetly, melting into their embraces.
Watching them, something warm and unfamiliar bloomed in my chest. This was family—my family. For the first time since returning, Claflin Estate didn't feel like an intimidating fortress. It felt like home.
---
I was drifting toward sleep when soft knocking interrupted the peaceful silence. Alexander groaned beside me, his arm tightening possessively around my waist.
"Mom?" Aiden's small voice filtered through the door. "Are you awake?"
I sat up, instantly alert. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"
The door cracked open, revealing Aiden clutching his stuffed dinosaur. "I had a nightmare. Can I sleep with you?"
Before I could respond, Alexander propped himself up, his expression darkening. "Absolutely not."
"Alexander!" I hissed, elbowing him sharply.
"What? He's four years old. He needs to learn independence," he whispered back, clearly irritated.
Aiden's lower lip trembled dangerously. "Please, Mom? I'm really scared."
Damn it. Those green eyes were my kryptonite. "Of course, baby. Come here."
I started to climb out of bed, but Alexander's hand shot out, gripping my wrist. "You're not seriously leaving our bed for him."
"It's one night," I said firmly, grabbing my pillow. "He's still adjusting to everything."
Alexander raked a hand through his disheveled hair, frustration radiating from every line of his body. "Unbelievable."
As I followed Aiden down the hallway, I caught Alexander's muttered complaint: "Cockblocked by my own damn son."
---
I must have dozed because suddenly strong arms were lifting me from the small bed, cradling me against a familiar chest.
"What are you doing?" I whispered groggily as Alexander carried me through the darkened mansion.
"Reclaiming what's mine," he murmured, his breath hot against my ear. "It's past midnight. He's dead to the world. I'll have you back before dawn."
"This is insane," I protested weakly as he shouldered open our bedroom door. "I promised I'd stay."
"And you will," Alexander assured me, laying me gently on our bed. "Just not for the next few hours."
Before I could argue, his mouth crashed against mine, hungry and demanding. My body betrayed me instantly, melting into his familiar heat.
"You're impossible," I gasped when he finally released my lips.
His hand slipped beneath my nightgown, fingers trailing fire up my thigh. "I'm territorial," he corrected, finding the edge of my panties. "There's a difference."
"Aiden might wake up—"
"He won't," Alexander said confidently, his fingers teasing along my already dampening folds. "And if he does, I'll hear him. Superhuman dad reflexes."
I laughed breathlessly. "Superhuman, huh?"
His expression softened as he gazed down at me. "I'm learning."
That simple admission shattered my remaining resistance. I pulled him down for another kiss, surrendering to the fire building between us.
His fingers found my clit, circling with maddening precision as his mouth devoured mine. "So wet already," he groaned against my lips. "Always so ready for me."
I arched beneath him, desperate for more contact. "Please..."
"Please what?" he teased, sliding one finger inside me while his thumb continued its torturous circles. "Tell me what you want, Nora."
"You," I gasped, my hips bucking against his hand. "I want you inside me."
He added another finger, stretching me deliciously. "Like this?"
"No," I whimpered, clawing at his shoulders. "Your cock. I need your cock."
With a growl of satisfaction, he positioned himself at my entrance, sliding home in one smooth thrust. We both moaned at the exquisite sensation of being joined again.
"Fuck, you feel incredible," he breathed, beginning to move with slow, deep strokes. "So tight, so perfect."
I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him deeper. "Harder," I demanded. "I need more."
He obliged, his pace becoming more urgent, more desperate. The headboard began a rhythmic tapping against the wall as he drove into me with increasing intensity.
"Yes," I cried softly, mindful of our sleeping son down the hall. "Just like that. Don't stop."
"Never," he promised, his voice rough with passion. "I'll never stop loving you, fucking you, claiming you."
The coil of pleasure in my core wound tighter with each thrust until I was trembling on the edge of release.
"Come for me," he commanded, his thumb finding my clit again. "Come on my cock, Nora."
The dual stimulation sent me over the edge, my orgasm crashing through me in waves of pure ecstasy. Alexander followed moments later, spilling himself deep inside me with a muffled groan.
We lay tangled together afterward, hearts racing, skin slick with sweat.
"I should get back," I whispered reluctantly.
"Not yet," he murmured, his arms tightening around me. "Just a few more minutes."
But true to his word, he carried me back to Aiden's room before dawn, even taking the time to clean me up with gentle, reverent touches.
---
I woke to sunlight streaming through curtains, my body deliciously sore from the night's activities.
That man is absolutely insatiable, I thought with a secret smile.
Mary knocked softly before entering with coffee. "Good morning, Mrs. Claflin. Mr. Claflin asked me to tell you he and Aiden have gone school hunting."
"School hunting?" I sat up too quickly, wincing at the pleasant ache between my thighs. "Without me?"
Mary nodded apologetically. "They left around nine. Mr. Claflin said you needed your beauty sleep."
I stared at the empty space where Aiden should have been. How did he manage to extract a four-year-old from this bed without waking me?
After a quick shower, I was heading downstairs when the front door burst open, followed by Aiden's animated chatter.
"...and the playground had a ROCKET SHIP slide, Mom!" Aiden exclaimed, spotting me immediately. "But the principal at the school looked like the witch, so I told Dad absolutely not."
Alexander followed, looking unfairly handsome in casual clothes. "We've had quite the educational adventure."
"I can see that," I said, arching an eyebrow. "Thanks for the invitation."
"You were sleeping so peacefully," Alexander replied smoothly, his eyes dancing with mischief. "After such a... restless night."
"Yeah, Mom was super restless," Aiden agreed innocently. "First you were in my bed, then you disappeared, then you came back!"
Alexander coughed suddenly, his cheeks actually coloring. "Aiden, why don't you ask Mary about lunch?"
"But I was telling Mommy about the schools—"
"Now, please," Alexander said firmly.
Once Aiden had reluctantly trudged toward the kitchen, Alexander turned to me with that predatory gleam I knew so well.
"Restless indeed," he murmured, pulling me against him.
"You're unbelievable," I muttered, feeling heat creep up my neck. "What if he'd woken up and found me gone?"
"I had everything under control," he assured me, his hands settling possessively on my hips. "I always do."
"Next time, wake me before you take our son school shopping," I said, trying to sound stern despite the warmth spreading through me at his touch.
"Next time," he promised, lowering his head to capture my lips.
A dramatic gasp from the doorway interrupted us. "Ewww, KISSING!"
We turned to find Aiden standing there, his face scrunched in exaggerated disgust.
"Don't worry," he added magnanimously, "I can cover my eyes if you want to keep going."
He demonstrated by slapping his hands over his eyes while obviously peeking through his fingers.
Alexander and I burst into laughter, the tension breaking.
"Come on," I said, extending my hand to Aiden. "Let's have lunch and you can tell me about these schools."
---
"So the doctor says it's just stress and minor indigestion," I reported as we left the medical building that afternoon. "Nothing serious. Just need more rest."
"You heard the doctor," Alexander said, opening my car door with exaggerated gallantry. "More rest, less stress. Doctor's orders."
"Yes, sir," I replied with a mock salute.
My phone rang as we pulled into traffic. Daisy's name lit up the screen.
"Hey, what's up?" I answered, putting her on speaker.
"Nora!" Daisy's voice practically vibrated with excitement. "Oh my God, I have the most incredible news!"
"What is it?" I asked, grinning at her enthusiasm.
"I'm pregnant!" she squealed. "Liam and I are having a baby!"
