Weeks had passed since the New Year, and change was in the air.

Jaxon made a decision — one that had been growing in his heart for a while now. He no longer wanted to share a house full of friends and chaos. He wanted something calmer, something that belonged just to him and Elena. A home. A future. A family.

So, he handed over the keys of his other house to Rick and Jack, telling them, with a crooked smile and a thump on the back, “It’s yours now. Fill it with whatever madness you want — but I’m leaving with Elena. We’re building something new.”

That morning, Jaxon had stood in front of the mirror adjusting his shirt collar, eyes steady but laced with nerves. His heart thudded like a drum. His jaw was freshly shaven, and his hair neatly brushed back. Tonight had to be perfect. There were no do-overs for moments like this.

He pulled out his phone and called Elena.

She was with Elizabeth in the living room, her fingers braiding Mimi’s hair as Jimmy napped on a blanket. She picked up on the second ring.

“Hey,” she said with a warm smile in her voice.

“I want to take you out to dinner,” Jaxon said, his tone careful but excited. “Dress nicely, okay? And bring Elizabeth and the kids too. It’s a family thing.”

Elena raised an eyebrow, amused. “Family dinner? Sounds serious.”

He chuckled. “Maybe it is.”

Elena took her time getting ready. She wore a soft lilac dress that hugged her curves and shimmered when she moved. Her long hair was curled gently over her shoulders, and her lips were a rose-pink. Even Elizabeth had to pause and say, “Girl… Jaxon’s going to faint when he sees you.”

Elena blushed and swatted her friend playfully.

As they neared the venue, a cozy restaurant tucked beside the oceanfront, Elizabeth suddenly stopped just outside.

“Oh, the kids are whining for ice cream again,” she said quickly, nudging the two toddlers with a laugh. “There’s a shop just across the road. I’ll take them. You go ahead — we’ll catch up in a minute.”

Elena hesitated. “Are you sure?”

Elizabeth smiled, eyes dancing with mischief. “Positive.”

Trusting her friend, Elena walked toward the building alone. The air felt slightly too quiet. When she reached the front door, she paused. The lights were off. Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she stepped inside. Darkness.

Her brows furrowed. “Jaxon?” she called out cautiously. “Are you here?”

Her voice echoed, uncertain.

Then — click.

The lights flared on.

Elena gasped.

The entire space had been transformed. Fairy lights hung from the ceiling like stars. Rose petals blanketed the floor. Soft music played in the background — a gentle melody that tugged at her chest. Her eyes widened, breath catching in her throat.

In the center of it all, standing in a spotlight of warm golden light, was Jaxon.

He was down on one knee.

In his hands was a small, velvet box. Open. Inside sat a stunning diamond ring that sparkled under the lights like it held the universe inside.

“Elena,” he said, voice steady but filled with raw emotion. “Will you marry me?”

Elena’s hand flew to her mouth, her entire body trembling.

Jaxon’s voice continued, low and earnest. “Will you be my mate again? I haven’t stopped thinking about you — not since the day I walked away. And now… you’re the Alpha of your own pack. Damien gave you that title. You’ve earned it.”

He paused, his eyes never leaving hers.

“I want us to protect our clans… to protect our children. To build something strong. To finally be happy. Together.”

Elena’s knees buckled slightly, and she covered her mouth to stop a sob from escaping. Her heart felt like it would burst right through her chest.

Behind her, people began clapping — Elizabeth, Rick, Jack, her children — all stepping out from their hiding spots with beaming faces. The music swelled. The lights glittered brighter.

“Say yes!” Elizabeth shouted joyfully. “Say yes!”

Mimi jumped up and down beside her brother. “Mommy! Say yes!”

Tears streamed down Elena’s face as she laughed through the crying. She reached up and removed the small heart necklace Jaxon had once given her — the one she always wore during tough times. She held it in one hand and extended her other toward him.

“Yes,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “Yes, I’ll marry you, Jaxon.”

The crowd erupted into cheers. Jaxon’s face lit up with pure joy as he slipped the ring onto her finger and rose to his feet. He pulled her into a tight hug, lifting her off the ground as she cried softly against his neck.

“I love you, Elena,” he whispered into her hair.

She pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. “I love you too, Jaxon.”

Just then, their children came running, laughing and squealing. They threw themselves into their parents’ arms, wrapping them in tiny hugs that made the moment even more magical.

“Ohhh, this is too cute!” Rick said, clapping with tears in his eyes.

Jack elbowed him. “See? I told you. Love is wild, man.”

Rick grinned. “I might just fall in love like this too.”

Jack didn’t wait. He turned around, rushed toward Elizabeth, and wrapped his arms around her before she could even react.

Everyone burst out laughing, including Elizabeth, who blushed but didn’t pull away.

And just like that… the evening was sealed.

That was how they all lived happily ever after.
