Chapter 78 CHAPTER SEVENTY EIGHT
ROMAN’S POV
I grimaced as another hard punch landed on my stomach, blinking hard.
Ok fine he wanted it the aggressive way huh, no problem. If there was one thing that bastard Mr Castor taught me, then it was pure animalistic aggression.
I barreled hard towards Stefan, the both of us landing on the floor. I punched him hard, of course I didn't stop, not even after hearing the satisfying crack of his nose.
I struggled against the various hands pulling me away from him, while Owen and some other guys ran to check up on Stefan.
“Stop it, do you want to kill your future Alpha?” The loud angry voice of our trainer rang out, snapping me from whatever fog of anger was clouding my brain.
“I don’t know what is wrong with the both of you,” Ethan our trainer yelled out. “But the both of you need to fix it now.” He signaled the rest of the boys to get out, eyeing both me and Stefan, before walking out.
I breathed out in exhaustion, sitting down on the bench behind me as I took in Stefan. His right eye was swollen and black, his nose bent at an unnatural angle, blood sliding down from it.
I stood up, walking towards him, while he just stood there stiffly, staring at me.
Without saying anything, I held on to his nose, snapping it into place while Stefan screamed out, holding on to his nose.
“What the hell was that for?” He wailed out.
I smirked, shrugging my shoulders. “It was broken, stop acting like a baby.”
I went back to the bench I had been sitting on, spreading my legs out as I folded my hands on my laps.
“I am sorry,” I mumbled out, clearing my throat. “I let my anger take control but you needed that punch I won’t lie.”
“I am sorry too,” Stefan sighed out. “I don’t know why, but I was just so angry at seeing you and also a bit worried.”
“Worried?” I mused out, nodding my head as the memory of Stefan sucking face with that girl from the academy surfaced in my mind.
“Oh that? Psss..,” I say, chuckling a bit. “Dont worry. As long as it was a one time thing and you don’t go around doing stuff like that anymore, then it’s fine.”
Stefan smiled a bit, before masking it. “Umm, so about Emily, we are all good right?”
“Yea sure, we're good.” I told him, almost asking him about Emily.
After that, we gave ourselves a nod of understanding, before parting ways.
We had lunch break next, and I groaned loudly, the cafeteria was where every click segregated themselves.
Now I was at a standstill, I didn't know my place anymore. Normally I sat down with Stefan and the rest, but now, I don’t know if I would even be welcomed.
Besides, it’s egotistical and rude to just sit down with them, as if nothing had changed. And knowing Stefan, I was sure Emily would be right on that table with him.
Well like my father said, I needed to “Man up.”
After dropping some of my stuff in my locker, I begin the long walk towards the Cafeteria.
The cafeteria was filled up already, everyone was where they were supposed to be.
I took the food I wanted, smiling at the cafeteria ladies as they welcomed me back.
ignoring the expectant looks from my old friends, i sat at the far back alone, using my earphones to close my ears to the whispering I was sure was going around.
The food was good, a welcome upgrade to how it was before.
I stared out the window, breathing out. Suddenly I felt my heart rate increase, a prickly sensation running through my whole body.
“Mate…, mate.” My wolf howled loudly in my brain.
I glanced towards the popular table, holding my breath at the sight of Emily and Stefan. She sat on Stefan’s lap, giggling at something he said.
From this angle, I could see her beautiful face clearly, her cute smile making my heart beat faster.
My hands were clenching my spoon hard, while I kept whispering to my wolf to calm down.
I don’t know how long I watched her, my food now cold and completely forgotten.
A part of me wanted her to look up, stop focusing on Stefan for one second, just a lift of her head and I could see her beautiful eyes.
While another part of me, the more sensation and rational part, wanted her to ignore me completely. That way, it would be easy to pretend for the three more months I had to stay in this pack.
My sis or Owen probably said something, but next thing, both Stefan and Emily were staring in my direction.
Quickly, I fumbled with my phone, trying to act cool, like I hadn’t been staring at Emily like a starving dog for God knows how long.
Please moon goddess, please…., let them just ignore me. I prayed vehemently, not even focusing on my phone.
“Hey man,” Stefan called out, sliding into the seat opposite me.
“Hey,” I mumbled out, smiling at him to hide my nerves.
“What’s going on?” he asked, frowning. “I thought we were cool, so why are you sitting all the way back here like a fucking outcast?”
“I just don’t want to make it weird,” I told him.
“Oh come on,” Stefan replied. “You are my beta. Your rightful place is beside me, and everyone knows that.”
I glanced at his table, almost blushing as my eyes met that of Emily’s beautiful ones.
She smiled softly, catching my gaze, while I looked away.
“Is this about Emily?” Stefan asked nervously, glancing back at his table, before looking back at me. “I thought you said it wasn’t going to be an issue?”
“It’s not an issue,” I grumbled out, standing up. “Let’s go,” I told him firmly, masking my expression.
Stefan smiled, the smile not quite reaching his eyes.
He stood up, leading the way, while I followed behind him.
“Hey guys…, look who I found.” Stefan announced to the table, asking some guys to make space for me.
“Hey, what’s good?” I asked generally, before sitting down, cursing my luck.
Everyone greeted back, some guys extending out their fists so we could shake hands.
I sat directly opposite both Emily and Stefan.
I glanced at her, before glancing away at the look Stefan threw my way.
As if to prove a point or something, Stefan dragged Emily closer to him, kissing her slowly.
Emily pushed him back playfully, laughing awkwardly, before sneaking a quick look my way.
I clenched my teeth, refusing to show how that simple gesture broke my heart.
This was going to be harder than I thought.
“How are you Roman?” she asked, her soft voice almost drowned out by the loud discussion of the others.
“Fine,” I replied gruffly, leaning back comfortably against my chair.
“How are you?” I asked her, my eyes trailing down towards her lips.
“Well, you know just there.” She chuckled awkwardly, her eyes roaming about.
I just nodded my head, focusing on my phone. As much as Stefan pretended like he was listening to what Ralph was telling him, I could see the way his eyes always flickered back towards me and Emily, his hands on her shoulder almost squashing her to his side.
I sighed out, standing up. My actions cuting off all conversations.
“My dad,” I lied smoothly, avoiding my sis questioning gaze. “He just texted me, needs my help. Will see you guys later.”
I didn’t wait for their reply, I just walked out.
I couldn’t do it, I needed more time, I needed to prepare because today was just the beginning.
Knowing Stefan, this three months would be hell, his actions, his words would be him testing if I really was ok with him and Emily,
I had to make sure I survived these three months.
