Chapter 84 Decades
ANNA'S POV
The early morning sunlight streamed through my office windows, painting the room in golden hues. I sat at my desk, staring at the screen in front of me, my fingers hovering over the keyboard. since I had finally gotten what I wanted from James, today I was going to release the formula, the day all my, careful planning would finally come to fruition. Today, I was going to release Celebrex, my fully re-engineered chronic eczema drug formula, to the world.
I took a slow breath, feeling a surge of satisfaction run through me. Celebrex wasn’t just a drug; it was a statement. A statement that I had overcome betrayal, manipulation, and doubt to achieve something no one else had managed. Chronic eczema had tormented patients for decades, with treatments that were either partially effective or burdened with side effects. Celebrex changed everything. It cured the condition fully, with no side effects, something that had eluded scientists for years. And now, it would reach patients who had suffered for far too long.
I opened the final file on my computer, double-checking everything. Dosage instructions, manufacturing protocols, safety notes — all perfectly detailed. I clicked the upload button to the secure pharmaceutical network, my heart racing. The confirmation window popped up: “Celebrex successfully released and approved for distribution.”
A smile spread across my face, one I hadn’t allowed myself in months. This wasn’t just a victory for me; it was a victory for everyone who had been told chronic eczema was a life sentence. I leaned back in my chair, letting the weight of the moment sink in. After all the planning, all the sacrifice, it was done.
A soft knock at the door pulled me out of my reverie.
“Anna? Are you done basking in your own glory yet?” Ryan’s voice teased as he stepped into the office, his usual easygoing demeanor in place, but his eyes shining with pride.
I looked up and couldn’t help but grin. “Ryan, I’m busy changing the world here. Give me a moment.”
He raised his hands in mock surrender but smiled. “Alright, alright. I wouldn’t dare interrupt your world-changing, but I couldn’t resist coming to congratulate you personally.”
I gestured for him to sit across from me. “Well, since you’re here, you get the first look at the success report. Everything’s been finalized. Celebrex is officially out there.”
“It wasn’t easy. You know the kind of betrayal and obstacles I had to overcome to even get to this point. But I’ve learned that nothing can stop you if you’re determined enough.”
I leaned back in my chair, letting his words sink in. “Hope is exactly what I wanted to give. Patients shouldn’t have to endure pain for decades. Celebrex ensures they won’t have to.”
Before Ryan could respond, the office door swung open, and Dan stepped in, his usual confident stride taking him straight to my side. “I heard the news,” he said, clapping his hands together lightly. “And I had to see it for myself.”
I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through me at their support. “Thank you, Dan.”
Dan nodded, his expression serious, his usual humor replaced by something softer. “You know, I’ve seen a lot of people achieve great things, but what your doing… what you did took everything. It wasn’t just the science. It was the resilience, the focus, the ability to turn betrayal into motivation. Most people would have crumbled. You didn’t just survive; you thrived.”
I felt a rush of gratitude and pride. “It’s not just about me. Celebrex is a culmination of every patient story I’ve ever read, every case study I’ve ever analyzed. And now, the moment it reaches them, I know it’s going to make a difference. That’s what keeps me going.”
“You didn’t just create a formula. You’ve inspired everyone around you, Anna. And I mean that. People will look at what you’ve done and understand that determination and skill are a combination that cannot be ignored.”
Ryan leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. “What’s next for you, Anna? I mean, after Celebrex, after changing the landscape for chronic eczema treatment… where do you go from here?”
I paused, thinking for a moment. “Next, I want to focus on patient accessibility. It’s one thing to create the drug, but it’s another to ensure that every patient, regardless of financial status or location, can get it. That’s my next goal. Celebrex should be in every clinic, every hospital, every pharmacy worldwide.”
Dan raised an eyebrow, impressed. “Ambitious, but that’s you. I wouldn’t expect anything less. And you’ll make it happen. You always do.”
I laughed softly, shaking my head. “It’s not about ambition. It’s about responsibility. I’ve created something that can change lives, and I intend to see it reach those lives. No shortcuts, no compromises.”
Ryan nodded, his tone serious. “You’ve earned this, not just for science, but for everything else — perseverance, courage, the brilliance. You’ve set a new standard for everyone in the field.”
I looked between them, feeling a rare, unguarded pride. “I couldn’t have done this without the support I’ve had. Honestly, seeing both of you here, celebrating this moment with me… it means more than you know.”
Dan’s expression softened. “Well, now that the hard part is done, you can finally take a moment to breathe. Celebrate a little. You deserve it. The world doesn’t just need Celebrex, it needs you to take pride in what you’ve accomplished.”
I let out a small laugh, feeling lighter than I had in years. “Celebrate, huh? I suppose I can allow myself a small celebration. Maybe a quiet dinner, a short break.” I said
And then after that it’s back to making sure James gets what he deserves.
Ryan grinned. “I’ll toast to that. Quiet or not, you’ve earned it.”
Dan smirked. “And after that? Who knows? But whatever you do, just remember this feeling. Remember that you overcame every obstacle, every betrayal, every doubt and came out stronger. That’s something no one can take away from you.”
I nodded, feeling the weight of the moment settle over me. “I will. Thank you, both of you. Really. For everything.”
Ryan stood, offering me a fist bump. “To Celebrex. And to Anna Quinn — the woman who refused to be anything less than brilliant.”
I returned the gesture, smiling. “To Celebrex. And to the future it’s going to create.”
Dan clapped his hands together. “Alright, enough of the sappy stuff. Now, let’s figure out how we’re going to handle all the media attention. You’ve officially changed the game, Anna. The world will be watching.”
I nodded, already mentally preparing. Celebrex wasn’t just a personal victory. It was a professional milestone, a turning point. The press, the pharmaceutical world, and every patient who had suffered for decades would soon see what dedication and brilliance could achieve.
But the release of this wasn’t meant to give everyone hope, it was also meant to destroy the hope of one man.
