Chapter 114 Bonjovi Mansion
ISABEL'S POV
Right from the moment Austin told me where he was working, I knew what he wanted. And now, I was standing in one of my most expensive boots, right in front of the Bonjovi Mansion.
There was a smirk plastered on my face. I leaned in, pressing the doorbell, and took a step back as I heard footsteps approaching.
“Miss Quinn?” Rick, the old butler who was more than familiar with me, asked. I could barely hold back my smile.
“Yes, it's me. You may call me Isabel now.”
He was more than shocked. I could tell. Considering the way I stormed out of the house the moment Austin and I broke up, I didn't even think that I was going to return at any point in time.
He took my bag from my hands, and I grinned. He didn't forget anything that I had taught him.
“Is Austin in?” I asked, and he nodded. By the time I got into the house, Austin was sitting on the couch, sipping on bourbon.
The familiar scent hit me, and it suddenly felt like home. But something had changed. I couldn't place what it was exactly.
“You haven't changed,” I said, sitting down without asking for any permission.
“And I don't plan on changing any time soon. It's the last thing I have to remember about my father.”
At the mention of his father, I couldn't help but wrinkle my nose. His father didn't like me, and he didn't hesitate to show it. It wasn't like I even needed his permission for anything. His son loved me at that point.
It was a shame that the old man was finally dead.
“So…” I said, leaning in. “What do you need me for?”
He smirked, setting his glass down. “I'm sure you know why you're here. Anna's Care Center and Greenlife Med have been competing ever since your sister opened the company. It didn't even take her time to gain the attention of the people in the market.”
I knew everything about Anna's competitors. I also knew that the internet had started calling it Quinn's Med because she was a Quinn now- a position she didn't deserve. How could I not know? I was preparing to take over my parents’ company once upon a time.
“So you need me to manage yours the way I would have managed my parents’?”
“Exactly,” he said, snapping his fingers in an eureka moment. “But, you need to do something else for me. Managing the company won't be enough. Especially since you don't have any idea about drugs.”
“What else?” I asked, getting interested now. There was nothing that piqued my interest more than being in control.
“Killing all competition.” He suddenly leaned in more. “And I'm sure you know exactly who I'm talking about,” he said, smirking.
Anna Quinn.
He didn't have to tell me twice. Once upon a time, I was a part of them, but now, I didn't even know where I stood. I didn't know if I was to change my surname.
And even if I did, whose child was I?
“Are you even listening to me?” Austin asked, and I nodded.
“You want all completion gone.”
“Especially the company of those who dumped you. You want revenge, Isabel. I can see the thirst in your eyes. I'm giving you the chance and the power to get everything you finally want. The revenge, the money.”
I was weighing my choices in my head. It would feel more than nice to see the Quinns on their knees. Begging me just the way I had begged them. I still hadn't gotten over the sting of the slaps. Or the look on Daniel's face as he betrayed me and destroyed everything that we had built as siblings.
The answer was right there in my face. I tipped my chin at Austin. “When can I start?” I asked, and he smirked.
“I knew you were a smart girl. You can resume by Monday. For now, you can check out your room.”
I noticed that he didn't say the room was for both of us. Why the hell was I still craving to share a room with him?
With the snap of a finger, there was a maid that came to take me to another room. I swayed my hips from side to side as I followed the maid. She quickly unlocked one of the guest rooms, gesturing for me to walk in.
I could tell that everything was made just the way I would have liked it. There was something special about it that made my heart skip a beat.
I walked around the room, running my hands through the wall. It was in my favorite color. In fact, it almost felt like it was my room back at home. Even if it felt slightly different.
“Is there anything else you would be needing, ma'am?” The maid asked, and I shook my head.
As soon as she was out of the room, I locked the door behind me before I threw the wardrobes open. They were filled with expensive clothes, just as he had promised. Even the new clothes that we went shopping for were there.
I couldn't help but squeal in delight.
What else could I have asked for?
A part of me was doubtful. I was Austin's ex. The one that broke him for what seemed like forever. And now, he was suddenly better and came to find me first? None of that made sense.
But then, he needed my help. Maybe he was just giving me the life that he felt I deserved. Nothing more, nothing less.
My phone rang, and I couldn't help but frown as I looked at the caller ID. It was James. I hadn't even talked to Austin about James yet. And now that I saw the life that I had the chance of living forever, I didn't know if I even wanted to bring up someone like James.
I busied the call, dumping my phone on the bed as I went through more of the shoes that were at the bottom of the wardrobe. All new.
I heard that Greenlife Med was known for hoarding money. Their staff weren't well paid. That was the advantage that Anna had against Austin's dad. Her staff couldn't stop talking about how generous she was with her salary. And now that I was in charge, that was the first thing I was going to change. That was just step one of bringing my parents down.
I squealed again, smirking as I looked at myself in the mirror. This was going to be fun.
