Chapter 253 Neighbor one shot
Chapter 253 Neighbor one shot
I stood by my window, watching him again. It was becoming a habit.
My new neighbor. Tall, calm, and effortlessly attractive in a way that didn’t even seem fair. He was the kind of man who didn’t try, because he didn’t need to.
“Oh my God…” I muttered under my breath, resting my forehead lightly against the glass. “He is so damn hot.”
My fingers traced absent patterns along my arm, my gaze locked on him like I didn’t have the ability to look away. “I can’t wait to have him,” I whispered, almost to myself. The thought alone sent a slow, dangerous warmth through me.
Then my phone rang. I exhaled sharply, annoyed at the interruption, before picking it up.
“Hello?”
“Hello, beautiful,” a deep voice answered immediately.
I rolled my eyes slightly. “Hi… who’s this?”
“Wow. You forgot me already?”
I paused, trying to place it. “Remember the guy you took to paradise last night?”
That didn’t narrow it down. There were… a few. “Um…” I hesitated. “Frederick?”
“Nope. Duncan.”
“Oh… Duncan. Right.” I straightened slightly, recovering. “Wait… how did you get my number?”
I never gave out my number. Ever. Once the job was done, it was done. Let’s not pretend. I’m a sex worker. A professional one.
“Let’s just say I found a way,” he said smoothly.
“Right…”
“I need your services again. Now.”
Of course he did. They always did. I smirked faintly, already about to respond…
Then a knock came at my door. I frowned. “I’ll call you back,” I said, ending the call.
Who the hell…? I opened the door and froze.
Charles. Charles Washington. My new neighbor. The same man I had been watching seconds ago was standing right in front of me.
“Hey,” he said, calm and composed. “Sorry to bother you. Do you know how the thermostat works in these units? Mine’s acting weird.”
I blinked. For a second, I forgot how to speak. All I could think about was how close he was, how real he looked, and how much better he was up close.
“No… I mean, yes,” I corrected quickly, heat rising in my chest. “I can help.”
His gaze lingered on me for half a second longer than necessary. “Thanks. I’d appreciate it.”
I followed him without hesitation. His apartment was just a few steps away, but it felt like a different world the moment I stepped inside—very peaceful and quiet. He stepped aside to let me pass. I was suddenly aware of everything: how near he was, the subtle scent of him, and the way the air shifted.
Focus, Aria.
He pointed toward the thermostat. “Right there.”
I moved closer, adjusting the settings and pressing buttons just to give myself something to do. But I could feel him behind me, watching. It took me longer than it should have. Yeah, I was just looking for a better way to stay longer.
“Okay… you’re good now,” I said finally, stepping back.
“Thanks,” he said.
A pause. Then… “Do you want a drink?”
I turned to him slowly. “Definitely.”
He handed me a glass of wine. Our fingers brushed for a second too long, and something in that moment… shifted. I lifted the glass and drank, fast.
He noticed. “You don’t waste time,” he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
I smiled slightly. “I don’t like hesitation.”
His eyes darkened just a little. That was all it took. I stepped closer, slow and intentional.
“Thank you,” he said again, but this time, it sounded different. Like he was trying to keep his distance.
But I didn’t believe in distance. Not when I wanted something. And I wanted him.
“Really?” I said softly, closing the space between us and pressing my chest against his. He stood still as I stepped into him, my body brushing lightly against his. I felt the shift in his breathing.
“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice lower now.
“I want you,” I said simply. “I want you to fuck me.”
I noticed his erection through his trousers. He exhaled sharply, stepping back just enough to create space.
“You should go.”
I smiled. He wasn’t convincing. He sounded like he wanted me.
“Why?” I asked, tilting my head slightly. “You don’t feel this?”
His jaw tightened. “I said you should go.”
But he didn’t move away, he didn't walk, and he didn't break eye contact. So I stepped closer again and reached down to touch him. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
“I said I want you to fuck me,” I said seductively.
“Stop,” he said calmly, definitely feeling the tension.
My fingers brushed lightly against his chest. “I don’t hesitate,” I whispered.
His hand caught my wrist. “Aria.”
The way he said my name…
“Yeah?” I answered, smiling.
“Please stop,” he said, removing my hand from him.
“Stop pretending you don’t want this,” I said quietly. I moved closer again. “I promise you won't regret it. You can't say you don't want this.”
I emphasized my curves for him. I caught him admiring me; he obviously wanted to have a taste. Tension stretched between us like something fragile, something ready to snap. His grip loosened, but he didn’t let go completely.
I leaned in slowly, giving him plenty of time to stop me. He didn’t. My lips hovered just inches from his, close enough to feel his breath.
“Last chance,” I whispered.
Then… his hand tightened slightly, and everything shifted. But he still didn’t close the distance; he didn't kiss me. I felt disappointed and pulled back slightly.
“Interesting,” I murmured.
He exhaled, like he had been holding his breath the entire time. “You should go,” he repeated.
But this time, it didn’t sound like a command. It sounded like a struggle.
I smiled at him, knowing I wouldn't give up. Even if it wasn't today, it would definitely be another day.
“Yeah,” I said, stepping back. But my eyes never left his. “This isn’t over.”
I turned and walked toward the door, but I could still feel his gaze on me. I stepped out and smiled to myself.
“I'm definitely going to fuck you, Charles,” I said to the closed door.
