Chapter 67
TJ hit the cliff at full speed and leaped. He crashed into the brilliant climax, sending crest after crest of perfect pleasure rushing through him.
Donovan cried out then lowered his body to rest on top of TJ’s. His body jerked then shaking tremors radiated from Donovan down to TJ. The throes of ecstasy. They echoed TJ’s own.
The unmuted sound of Donovan’s pleasure acted like an accelerant on TJ’s orgasm, adding an additional level to his peak before drawing out in gradually decreasing cascades.
He could only lay there, suck in air, and listen to Donovan’s heavy breathing. Their bodies rubbed together, brushing with each tiny movement. Sharing. As one. TJ wanted that moment to go on endlessly. For he’d never felt this close to a man. Ever.
Wrapping his arms around Donovan, TJ simply hugged him, held him, and vowed to never let him go.
Mine.
Ours.
For once, TJ didn’t argue with his beast. They both were on the same page, at least.
TJ’s stomach growled.
Donovan chuckled against TJ’s ear, the puff of breath tickling. “I think that’s our cue to get out of bed and to the kitchen for breakfast.”
“There’s more than one kind of hunger,” TJ pointed out.
“True. But, I’m pretty sure that right now you need the food variety. Besides, I don’t want to make you sore.” Slowly and gently, Donovan pulled out. As he did so, he put space between their bodies.
TJ missed the closeness immediately. He could ignore his hunger for a bit longer if that meant Donovan would remain wrapped around him, holding him like he’d never been held before. The sweet moment touched TJ deeply. As much as he hated it to end, he consoled himself that he’d visit it again and soon.
Donovan untangled himself and stood up. “How does bacon and eggs sound?”
TJ rolled over to peer up at him. “You don’t have to cook.”
“I like cooking. Besides,” he waggled his eyebrows, “I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m supposed to do for the man who rocked my world this morning. Good manners and all that.”
“I really rocked your world?” TJ asked.
“Uh, huh. An earthquake could have hit and I wouldn’t have known the difference.”
TJ let those words sink in. “We’re good together.”
“Good? I’d say great.” Donovan smiled, his eyes lighting up.
TJ’s stomach growled again.
Donovan chuckled. “I’ll take care of breakfast. Your turn in the shower.”
Twenty minutes later, the delicious aroma of bacon lured TJ into the kitchen. He’d cleaned up and slipped on old faded jeans and a plain black T-shirt.
“Just in time.” Donovan placed a platter of bacon on the kitchen table. Glasses of juice, plates, utensils, and a huge pot of scrambled eggs already waited for the partaking. He turned back around, gathered up four slices of toast, and dropped two on each plate. “Breakfast is served.”
“Wow.” TJ sat down and surveyed the morning feast. “You outdid yourself.”
“Nah. Breakfast is easy.” Donovan took his seat and started filling his plate.
TJ picked up a piece of bacon and chomped down. The hickory sweet flavor made him close his eyes in delight.
“Interesting.”
TJ opened his eyes and met Donovan’s gaze. “What?”
“I swear that’s the same look of bliss on your face after you come.”
TJ chuckled. “Is that so?”
“Yep.” Donovan grinned and ate in earnest.
TJ took in the sight, considered the casual companionship they shared, and knew that a lifetime wouldn’t be long enough to enjoy special moments like this. His heart warmed as emotions rolled through. Feelings he’d never expected to have again. He’d fallen hook, line, and sinker. For Donovan. Forget friends with benefits. He wanted something stronger and everlasting.
He took a drink of juice to try to wash down the lump in his throat, returned the glass to the table, and watched Donovan with a new sense of importance.
The house was too quiet without Donovan there. Downright lonely. Just like TJ had become. Donovan added sunshine to his gloomy days. He wasn’t about to give up the greatest gift in the world. No way. No how.
The light bulb in his head finally clicked with his heart. He knew. Just knew with an absolute certainty. They were meant to be together.
His inner bear agreed.
“I want to do this every day.”
Donovan paused with his forkful of egg in the air. “Me cooking you breakfast?”
TJ smiled. “That’s not a bad idea, but no. I miss you when you’re gone. The house isn’t the same. Lonely.”
Donovan set his fork down, his gaze locked on TJ. “So, you like being friends?”
TJ let out a breath. “I guess what I’m trying to say is that I love you.”
Donovan’s eyes widened before he grinned wide enough to flash straight white teeth.
