Chapter 67 Sixty Seven

Chapter 67 Sixty Seven
Three Weeks

It had been three long weeks since Izzy last stepped inside the sex. Club. Three weeks since she had seen him up close, touched him, tasted him, or even felt his steady, commanding presence behind her.

Three weeks felt like forever.

Ever since Dominic dropped her off at her apartment on that last night, things had changed. He had been busy… traveling for meetings, flying from one country to another, sometimes gone for five days straight. And even when he was in town, he was barely at the office. Their paths rarely crossed, and when they did, it was brief and distant. She hated how much she missed him. She hated how much she thought about him.

But she couldn’t stop.

Today was the company’s annual Expo… a huge business event held in a massive convention center. Izzy had been working nonstop for weeks to prepare for it. She had stayed late many nights, slept only a few hours, and powered through stress that made her chest feel tight. The Expo had to run perfectly. She needed it to.

But deep down, she wanted Dominic to see her work. She wanted him to be proud of her. She wanted him to be there.

Except… he wasn’t even scheduled to attend.

That thought alone left a heavy ache in her heart.

She walked through the bright hall, checking displays, arranging products, talking to workers, and making sure nothing looked out of place… kept her clipboard close, pretending everything was fine, even though her stomach felt twisted.

As she turned a corner, she nearly bumped into someone….someone who made her blood run cold.

“Izzy,” a familiar voice said.

She froze.

The sound of that voice dragged up memories she had tried to bury. Painful memories. Shameful ones.

She looked up and met the eyes.. The eyes that looked at her and told her nasty hurtful things..

The bastard who broke up with her

Mark.

He stood there, smirking the same arrogant smirk that used to make her feel small. The man who had broken up with her by saying she was “inexperienced,” “boring,” and “not enough. “Sexually handicapped.”

“Mark,” Izzy said quietly, keeping her tone cold.

He looked her up and down, slow and mocking. “Good to see you…I think” he said, tilting his head. “How’s your sex life these days? Still bad at it?”

Izzy felt heat rush to her cheeks…anger, embarrassment.

She took a step back, jaw tightening. “Fuck off,” she snapped. She turned to leave.

But a moment later, a shadow stretched across the floor.

A tall one. A strong one. A familiar one.

Izzy looked up…and there he was.

Dominic.

His eyes weren’t just cold. They were ice. Sharp. Laser-focused. Locked on Mark like he was a threat. Locked on Izzy like he was marking his territory.

“Is everything ready?” Dominic asked, his voice low, steady, but filled with tension.

Izzy swallowed. “Yes, boss.”

Dominic gave one glance at Mark.. a glance so sharp it felt like a warning… and then he motioned for Izzy to follow him. She walked beside him, her heart pounding in her chest.

The moment they stepped into the main hall, she felt the world fade behind them. People bustled, lights flashed, speeches echoed…but all she sensed was him.

Dominic didn’t touch her, but he didn’t need to. His body moved close enough that she could feel the warmth of him… her pussy clenched.

Dominic walked up to the stage to give his presentation. He looked powerful… dark suit, strong shoulders, perfect posture. The crowd focused on him like he was the only person in the room.

Izzy sat in her seat near the front, trying to concentrate on her tasks. But her mind kept drifting. Her eyes kept drifting… to him.

She sure had missed him.

Terribly.

Until someone slid into the seat beside her.

Her stomach dropped.

Mark.

Again.

He leaned close like they were close friends, like he had a right to sit next to her. His body brushed against her arm…light, but intentional. Too intentional.

“You work with the great Dominic Steele, that's impressive” he whispered, eyes dragging over her. “I mean, for someone like you.”

Izzy stiffened. “Could.. Fuck off.”

Mark smirked, ignoring the hint. “You look tense. Are you sure everything’s okay?”

She pulled her arm away. “Leave me alone.”

On stage, Dominic continued speaking, but Izzy could feel the burn of his stare. She didn’t even have to look up to know he was watching her. She could feel it like heat on her skin. Like electricity.

Dominic wasn’t just noticing Mark…he was studying every inch of the space between them. Measuring it. Judging it. Hating it.

Mark leaned closer. “You know, I’ve missed talking to…”

He stopped.

Izzy turned her head to look at Dominic.

Just a glance.

But that glance was enough to change everything.

Mark followed her gaze… and froze when he saw the expression on Dominic’s face.

The cold warning. The danger.

Slowly, Mark sat back in his chair.

Izzy took a slow breath and focused on Dominic. He didn’t look away. His eyes stayed locked on her until the moment his speech ended.

After the presentation, Izzy’s phone buzzed.

A message from Dominic:

“Third floor. Hall C. Now.”

Her breath hitched. She stood calmly, slowly sneaking out so she wouldn't get seen.

Her heart pounded as she climbed the stairs. Each step seemed louder. The hallway on the third floor was quiet, empty, the light dimmer than the rest of the Expo. She reached Hall C and opened the door.

“Lock the door,” Dominic said, without turning.

His voice was different.. low, rough, strained.

She obeyed instantly.

The moment the lock clicked, Dominic turned, grabbed her waist, and pulled her into him. His body pressed firmly against hers, his chest pushing her back toward the wall.

His lips brushed her neck… slow, heated, hungry.

“Who was that guy?” he growled into her skin.

Izzy tried to speak, but the warmth of his mouth stole her breath.

“Are you seeing someone?” he muttered, kissing her harder. “You’re allowed to… I mean, I can’t stop you. What we have is just sex, right?”

The words stabbed her. She didn’t know why they hurt so much..but they did. More than she expected.

Before she could answer, his mouth crushed against hers, hot and deep. He kissed her desperate, almost angry. His hands slid down her back and grabbed her ass hard, pulling her tight against him.

“I missed you,” he whispered roughly against her lips. “I fucking missed you so much.”
