Chapter 150

Chapter 150

Sofia Bliss.

The sun was rising slowly as I lay on my side wrapped in the sheets, watching the light seep in through the huge glass window. For a moment, everything felt… simple.

It was all so safe, so quiet…

A feeling I thought I would never experience again.

It had already been a few weeks since that hell. Since the cage, the silver burning into my skin, since the fear of dying and leaving nothing behind but pain.
My body still carried marks—some visible, others only I could feel when I closed my eyes—but my mind was clear. For the first time, I could breathe without feeling like someone would rip that away from me.

I was alive.

And not just that.

I was now Sofia Bliss Hines.

The name still sounded strange in my head. Like it wasn’t mine. Like I had stolen something that never belonged to me… yet somehow had always been waiting for me.
I was now the only heir of the Hines family. The last one. The survivor.

To many, the true Alpha Supreme.

To the Council… a criminal.

I turned my face slowly and saw Adrian lying beside me, still awake, resting against the pillows, watching the dawn with me. His silvery hair fell over his forehead, glowing in the early light. He looked calm, but I knew better. Behind that calmness was something I would probably never fully understand.

“I didn’t think I’d live long enough to feel this,” I murmured, breaking the silence. “I thought… everything would end before I even had the chance.”

Adrian turned his gaze toward me, his pale eyes filled with something I was still learning to decipher—maybe love, maybe purpose… maybe pain reshaped into strength.

“You didn’t just survive,” he said. “You changed everything.”

I sighed and moved closer, resting my head against his chest. His heart beat steadily beneath my cheek.

My father was alive.
That still felt surreal. Living with us now, trying to relearn how to smile after everything he lost. Letícia was here too. Hurt, but alive. Just like so many others, the Council pretended they didn’t exist—half-breeds, omegas, betas, and humans tied to wolves by love.

They looked at me like I was something bigger.

A symbol.

They believed I would change everything—the rules, the laws, the punishments…
And that terrified me more than any cage ever did.

“The Council… they hate me…” I whispered. “To them, I’m a mistake. A half-breed woman who dared to survive and go against what they expected.”

Adrian let out a soft laugh.

“Hatred usually comes from fear.”

I closed my eyes for a moment, soaking in the warmth of him.

The Council had decided to pretend nothing happened. Pretend there was no massacre, no ritual, no collective attempt at sexual assault sanctioned by their own hands. They kept the same rules. The same trials. The same hypocrisy.

I became a hero to many… and a criminal to others.

Adrian paid his price too.

After dying — after losing his title as the Valehart heir — he lost the house, the name, everything. Edgar Black now sat in his place, protected by the Council, holding a legacy that never belonged to him, a name stained with blood.

Adrian chose another path.

D’arven.

His mother’s name, her legacy, her sacrifice.

He didn’t come back as just a man — he came back as something beyond that. As one of the Moon’s oracles. A living reminder that wolves didn’t rule the cycle.

They obeyed it.

“They think they control everything,” he murmured. “Life… death.”

“And that’s exactly why they’ll fall…” he finished.

I stayed quiet for a while, listening to his breathing, anchored by his presence. Then I finally said what had been stuck in my chest since yesterday.

“The Council is opening a new tournament for Alpha Supreme.”

Adrian smiled, like he already knew.

“Of course they are.”

“All the former competitors are dead,” I continued. “The only survivor… was me. And I was disqualified.”

He let out a humorless laugh.

“They would never accept a half-breed woman at the top… you know that.”

I smiled anyway.

“But they can’t stop the only heir of one of the greatest families from competing again, can they?”

Adrian turned fully toward me, eyes shining.

“No. They can’t.”

We laughed together. It felt strange to laugh after so much pain, but also strangely freeing.

“There are still Council members alive,” I said quietly. “Many fled that night.”

“I know,” he replied. “And they’ll try to reorganize.”

I took a deep breath.

“Francesca…”

Adrian's expression hardened.

“She’s going to have to marry Edgar,” he said. “It was the condition to avoid an immediate war. The D’arven family was condemned because of the ritual that brought me back.”

My chest tightened.

“She… she doesn’t deserve that.”

“No,” he agreed. “But she’s stronger than she looks. My mother trained her. Francesca knows how to observe. To wait. And when she acts…”
He didn’t finish, but I understood.

I gripped his chest, feeling the tension beneath my palm.

“Are you sure all of this will be worth it?”

Adrian wrapped his arms around me firmly.

“I am. Because now… we’re not alone anymore.”

I closed my eyes, breathing him in.

I could feel it. In every stare, every hand reaching out.
People believed. Not in a throne — in change.

I lifted my face and met Adrian’s eyes.

“Are you ready for what we’re about to do?”

He smiled — a dangerous, beautiful smile.

“More than ever.”

I smiled back.

“Then let’s show the Council… the world… that nothing can stop us.”

He pressed his forehead against mine.

“Never again.”

The sun was fully risen by the time we got out of bed. Outside, the world remained the same — cruel, unjust, and violent. But something was different.

We were different.

And now, we were no longer just survivors.

We were the beginning of something they would never be able to control.
