A NIGHT WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ 2
CARSON
Vera's smile softened, and she walked closer, her gaze meeting mine. "You're making me blush. It's nice of you to say, but you really don't have to—"
"I want to," I interrupted gently. "It's true. You've just been on my mind tonight. I hope that doesn't make things awkward."
Vera paused for a moment, then took a deep breath. "It doesn't have to be awkward. I guess we're both just trying to figure things out tonight."
I nodded, feeling the weigh of her words. "Yeah, I guess so."
She stepped even closer, her presence filling the space between us. "Well, if we're being honest, I've been feeling a bit distant lately too. It's nice to have someone here who sees me, even if it's just for tonight."
I reached out and gently touched her arm. "I'm glad I could be here for you. Sometimes it's the little things that helps us feel connected."
Vera looked down at my arm, then back up at me. "Thank you, Carson. It means a lot."
We stood there for a moment, the air between us charged with a quiet intimacy.
As I continued to hold her arm, I felt a stronger pull between us. I leaned in slightly, trying to gauge her reaction. She didn't pull away, instead, she seemed to lean in a little herself.
"Carson," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, "this evening has been... Different."
I nodded, my gaze fixed on her eyes. "Yeah, it has. It feels like there's something more between us right now."
Vera's breath was warm against my face. "I didn't expect to feel this way, but..."
I reached up and gently cupped her face with my hands. "Neither did I, but it feels like we're both searching for something. Maybe it's right here."
She closed her eyes briefly, then opened them again, looking directly at me. "I don't know what this means, but I'm not sure I want to pull away."
Our faces were now just inches apart. I could feel her warmth, and her eyes were locked onto mine. "Neither do I," I murmured, aroused.
I could see the desire and uncertainty in her eyes. "Carson, are you sure?"
I wanted this woman, so I nodded, brushing a stray of hair from her face. "I'm sure. You've been on my mind throughout this evening."
Our faces moved closer, and her lips parted slightly. The moment felt charged, every sound in the kitchen fading into the background.
"Then let's not overthink it," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
I gently pressed my lips to hers, starting with a soft kiss. She responded almost immediately, her hands moving up to rest on my shoulders as she deepened the kiss. It was a tender, lingering moment, filled with all the emotions that had been building up throughout the evening.
When we finally pulled back, out forehead pressed against each other. Her breath was warm and quick, and her eyes still held a mixture of surprise yet desire.
Our lips met again, and this time the kiss intensified. I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer until her body crushed onto mine, pressed tightly together. The heat between us grew urgent, my body hot with need.
Her hands moved up to neck, her fingers tangling in my hair as she pulled me closer. Her body pressed firmly against mine, and I could feel her heart racing against my chest. I responded by gently guiding her back against the counter, my hands moving up get back and tracing get curves.
She let out a soft, almost breathless sigh and I kissed her more passionately, our mouths moving in sync. I slid my hands down her sides, feeling the warmth of her skin through the fabric of her dress. Her touch was electrifying, her fingers exploring the contours of my shoulders and chest.
Our breath became ragged as we kissed, our hands roaming freely. Her fingers traced along my collarbone and then ventured lowered, sending shivers through me. I gripped her hips firmly, feeling the curve of her body and pressing her closer.
Her body responded to mine, and she pressed her hips against me with a soft moan. I responded by running my hands up her back, savoring the feel of her smooth skin. The kiss was heated, driven by a mutual need that had been building up all evening.
I could feel her desire and need reflected in every touch and kiss. Our became more urgent, our hand exploring each other with a new found intensity. Every touch seemed to amplify the connection between us, making it clear how much we both wanted this.
As we finally pulled apart, our breath mingling in the small space between us, we looked at each other with a mix of passion, and desire, both of us
feeling the intensity of the moment we had just shared.
