Chapter 16
The look that he gives me sends chills up my spine. What was happening? Never in a million years did I ever picture this happening. Wes lets go of the back of my neck and slowly steps away and I could feel the warmth of his body gone just like that. My hands itched to pull him back towards me and finish what he started, but I was still in shock at what he just did.
He clears his throat, “I .. I am sorry I didn’t mean to do that.”
After he said that, hurt flashed in my eyes and he noticed, but I hurried and turned around and started to head for the door.
“I appreciate you stopping by but it’s getting late.” Is all I could muster up to say to him. He slowly adjusted his hat on his head and walked towards me and the door. He stopped right in front of me and I slowly looked up into his eyes. You could tell he wanted to say something, but he chose not to.
“I appreciate you letting me stop by and catch up for a bit. See you around Maisie.” Then he walked out, and I closed the door behind him. I back up against the door and rest the back of my head on it while I tried to catch my breath. I was replaying everything over in my mind about what just happened in my Livingroom. Did I really want him to kiss me? I actually did was the scary part. I can’t though he is my best friends step-brother! Just as I was trying to be good and walk away from the door, I suddenly turned back a round and opened the door. Standing there with his back against the railing, just staring at the door was Wes. Our eyes connected and I realized I had no idea what I was expecting to find. I figured he would have left by now but here he was still outside my door.
“I umm.. I thought I heard something outside the door so I figured I would check it out.” This is all I could compile quickly. I was such a terrible liar and by the crooked smile on his face he knew I was as well.
“We can’t do whatever this is,” as I motioned back and forth between us, “Hattie is my best friend, and you are her step-brother.” I said and then let out a sigh.
“I know Maisie.. why do you think I had to walk away?” Wes said as he still didn’t make a move off the railing. To be honest, he made a great porch decoration I wouldn’t mind him staying like that. Gosh I need to focus before I do something stupid.
“o okay, good I am glad that we both agree.” I just stood there in the door, and I felt like an idiot and I didn’t know what to do. Then suddenly, I just blurted out, “Why didn’t you like me growing up? Why did you always treat me like crap??”
He was taken back by my question, and you could tell he was taking his time trying to decide what to say to me while he rubbed the back of his neck in frustration.
He stopped and then folded his arms across his chest and his muscles pulled the shirt tight against his arms. I started to ache between my legs just by the way he stood there looking like a sex god. He looked across the street and started to talk.
“I didn’t hate you Maisie, I just kept you at a distance, because I had a crush on you.” My mouth just hung there open and in shock. I whispered back, “No you didn’t. You treated me like trash. You wouldn’t treat someone you liked like that.”
“That was the only way I knew at the time on how to treat you so it wouldn’t turn into more. It was easier to just push you away by being mean to you. You deserved someone better than me and I couldn’t be that person. I had to get a lot of things out of my system and grow up a bit before I wanted to make things right and try and win you over.” He turned back to me and just stared at me. I had no idea what to say or what to do. This man in front of me treated me like trash for most of my teenage summer years and now confessed his feelings for me. I turned to look down the staircase so I could at least quit staring at him and get my thoughts in order.
Before I knew it, he pushed himself off the railing and was standing in front of me. He lifted my chin up with his rough callused hand and made me look him in the eyes. He was searching my face for maybe a sign that I could possibly forgive him but before I could put some space between us to think, he leaned in and kissed me. His lips on mine was so nice, he was gentle at first and then he started to get more aggressive. He used his tongue and pressed against my lips so I would open my mouth. Once he got what he wanted the kiss deepened and we couldn’t stop. I never felt anything like this before, and I felt like I had no control over my body. My mind just wanted my body to feel his touch. We were suddenly interrupted by his phone ringing. He stopped kissing me but pressed his forehead to mine while we tried to catch our breaths. The ringing didn’t stop and he moaned out of frustration and stepped back and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He looked down and silenced it and looked back up at me.
What do we do? Where do we go from here? Because obviously we both enjoyed it and you could tell the tension between us screamed for more.
I reached out and grabbed his hand and pulled him back through the door. Once he was back inside, I turned and locked it.
“I won’t be able to stop Maisie, you know that right? So if you want to leave it how it was, I should just walk out now.” I stared into his eyes and I could tell that he was telling the truth. My palms started to sweat but I definitely wanted him, all of him.
“I know, so you can leave if you want or you can fuck me?” I said with confidence that just suddenly came out of nowhere.
He didn’t even hesitate. He grabbed me by the waist and set me on top of the island counter. My heart started racing and I felt like it was going to pop out of my chest. I slowly grabbed his cowboy hat off his head and gently put it down on the counter behind me. I turned back and started to carouse his check. I could feel the stubble on his face and it turned me on even more.
