Chapter 79 Chapter 79

Chapter 79 Chapter 79
Keegan groaned for the umpteenth time. "Remind me to throw a lot of things at Mason when we return. He wouldn't stop mind linking me." He complained.
I chuckled and shoved the last bag into the car trunk.
"He keeps saying that we should head back quickly. Does he expect us to just teleport right there and now?" He rolled his eyes.
The driver Keegan had hired to drive us to the airport walked up to us and waved his hands.
"Hello. I'm Mike and I'm at your service." He said with a warm smile.
"Great. We're heading to the airport like I already said. Are you ready now?" Keegan asked.
"Sure, the car key?" he asked and Keegan threw it to him. He caught it without stress and opened the door to the driver's seat to get into it.
I heaved a sigh as I stared back at the beach house. "I feel so sad that I'm leaving the beach house. I've made memories here and there that I can never forget.
"Me too. It gave me the opportunity to discover new qualities in me through you, so it's also a great memory for me."
I sighed again and he nudged my shoulder. "Don't be so down. We can visit here again." He affirmed.
How could I tell him that it wasn't just being here? We were going to be returning to the pack house, so it felt like we were breaking up from a relationship. I still didn't want it to end yet. I wrapped my arms around his shoulder while he placed his hand on my waist, drawing my lips into a gentle kiss. I knew I was going to miss these kisses so much.
"Let's just leave now. It'll all be fine." He squeezed my shoulders then opened the car door for me to get on. After I did so, he followed suit then shut the door while the driver started the car and hit the roads.
Neither of us used our phones throughout the journey; we just snuggled close to each other, swimming in the moment while it lasted.

As we walked to the pack house, most of the pack members had made sure to shower their Alpha with so much love and special greetings while I felt so useless from being ignored, some of them still had the time to glare at me and mutter insults in my face.
Keegan's face was back to its normal sternness and that made me feel even more low-spirited. He just waved at them as we walked, not paying attention to my presence.
The feeling of being here hurts my soul again. As we arrived at the pack house, the burden that followed being the omega here crashed into me. I wanted to just turn around and leave already.
"You're finally back!" Chloe was the first person to welcome me, pulling me into a really tight hug.
When Mae scuttled to us, she joined the hug and I finally felt love.
"Thank you." I smiled, glad to see them again.
"Wow, you look so great." Mae teased, wiggling her eyebrows at me then they both helped me out in carrying the bags I was holding as I headed to sit on one of the sofas to relax a bit. They sat beside me, smiling.
Alpha Keegan joined us and sat on the sofa adjacent to the one we sat on.
"Good morning, Alpha." Mae greeted.
"Good Morning, Alpha Keegan."
"Where are the other members? Especially Mason. I can't believe he was complaining so much, yet he isn't even here." I couldn't tell whether the frown on his face was his signature frown or he was actually mad.
"They are all in pack training." Mae explained.
"Oh, okay." He still hadn't spared a glance at me and that frustrated me even more.
"Hey Jane, I missed you!" Vladimir said, drawing my attention to him as he walked up to stand in front of me and I also noticed Mason walking into the building. "I missed seeing your beautiful eyes and your amazing sweet smile." He commented, smiling with so much bliss shimmering in his golden eyes.
I smiled back but couldn't feel heat flushing through my cheeks like before. I guess it was most likely because of Keegan's words that made me realize I always blushed way too much, so it didn't make me feel as excited to hear his compliment like I'd have normally been, but I still forced a smile at him. "Hi." I rose to my feet.
He tried to pull me into a hug but Keegan stepped in. " Freshen up." He simply said to me, glaring at Vladimir. "I really expected you to have returned to your pack before we returned." Keegan said to him, making it obvious that he didn't like the presence.
"We're both aware of the fact that I'm here because I have to attend to a job that's close by and I'm not leaving yet until after attending the upcoming party. Also, remember that the contract permits me to stay here for as long as I want to, so you shouldn't question or decide how long I want to stay here." He asserted, clearing pissing Keegan off even more.
"It's my pack, so it's my decision." He said with a contorted face.
"According to the contract -"
"Welcome back, Alpha." Mason did a great job in ending their bickering. "It must've been such a long journey. You should both head upstairs and have a nice bath." He glanced at me. "Oh, but before that Alpha, there's something I have to discuss with you. Shall we?" he gestured to the elevator.
"Sure." Keegan still had his glare burning on Vladimir then finally glanced at me. He looked like he was trying to communicate with me through his amber eyes but I understood nothing. He and Mason started heading in the direction of the elevator door.
"I'll have to talk to you later." Vladimir said to me and took his leave.
"Drama everyday, but we're so glad you're back." Mae grinned.
"I'm glad to see you too." I yawned. "I'll freshen up then head to bed. Hopefully, Mrs. Bea doesn't interrupt my sleep." I rolled my eyes.
They chuckled. "Don't worry, I'll make sure she doesn't." Mas assured me and patted my back. "Head to bed now. You must be really tired."
"I'm beyond tired. Help me with the bags, please." I requested and they assisted me in carrying the bags as we walked up the stairs.
The familiar sound that the stairs made when I stepped on it made my stomach churn terribly. I hated being here again.
On our way up the stairs, I bumped into Scarlett; she had a terrible frown on and her blue eyes roared with rage when she glanced at me
"Hi," I waved, a little glad to see her again.
"Hi." She replied like she was forced to respond to me and just walked away.
"What the heck is wrong with this childish Beta?"
Mae whispered angrily.
"I feel like smacking her sometimes. Has she always been this annoying?" Chloe scoffed.
I just chuckled and left for Keegan's bedroom with them, not wanting to bad mouth her.
It still looked as clean as I had left it. Chloe and Mae dropped my bags on the floor and took their leave. Though I wanted to take a shower, I fell right on the bed and was called into the embrace of sleep.

My lashes flickered before they were thrown open. Yawning and stretching, I rolled out of bed and checked the time.
"What the heck? Did I sleep for an entire day?" My stomach grumbled, confirming that I indeed did that. "Jeez."
I left for the bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth then headed back to the room to change into a black trouser and a plaid red and black flannel shirt with matching black slippers.
I was about to step out of the room when Keegan walked in. He took a quick scan of my body, but his face was still very frigid and he still wasn't talking to me.
Mrs. Bea suddenly walked from behind him. "You! You were seriously sleeping after abandoning everything for so long?!"
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Bea." I bowed at her, not liking Keegan's attitude.
"Don't just stand there looking gormless. Prepare something for the Alpha. He has to attend to something today."
"Okay. What would you like to eat?" I asked.
"Anything should be fine." The coldness of his voice was frustrating me even more. "Sure." I replied with an equally cold tone. "Go downstairs right now." She ordered. Could she shut up already? I knew I had to head downstairs.
"Wait, Jauh... omeg... yo..." he trailed, clearly confused on what to call me.
"Is there anything you'd like, Alpha Keegan?" I asked in a low voice.
"Yes, but I'll inform you about it later."
Mrs. Bea's phone started ringing and she slipped it out. "Excuse me, Alpha." She took her leave. "It's fine. We're back at the pack house. You can resume calling omega." I reminded him and it made his face look more stern. "I'll make sure your breakfast is served quickly." I bowed my head then took my leave, now that felt strange to do. It made me miss the romantic Keegan again. I didn't have to bow after speaking to him.
I heaved a sigh and started heading downstairs. As I passed Mrs. Bea, she lowered the phone from her ear to yell at me, "cook it properly and ensure you clean that kitchen, it's a mess. When you're done, there's still so many things to do, so don't waste time at all "she ordered then resumed her conversation over the phone.
I heaved a sigh again then headed to the kitchen to start making breakfast for everyone. Doing it made me feel so wretched again. I just wanted to leave and not do this nonsense.
After a while, Vladimir walked into the kitchen in a black tank top and sweatpants. I warned myself to not be amazed by his body and the tattoos that ran down his torso and arms. He poured himself a glass of coffee and raised an eyebrow at me. "What's with the sad face?"
"What sad face?" I forced a smile at him.
He chuckled then sipped his coffee slowly while leaning against the counter. I resumed my work, not paying attention to him.
"Do you have any idea about the Ardolfs?" he suddenly asked.
I glanced at him with my eyes drawn together in askance. "What do you mean?"
"So you mean Keegan hasn't told you anything about the Ardolfs? I thought your relationship was deeper than that, but I guess you haven't gotten to that trust level." He smirked then took a sip of his coffee again. I knew Keegan had mentioned something about them to me before but I also knew Vladimir was up to something, judging from the manner he spoke.
"Jane, I'm willing to offer help to you if you ever need my help for anything."
According to the way Keegan painted him, Vladimir wasn't someone to ne trusted that much and if he was as cunning as Keegan mentioned, if he truly ruined Keegan's life with his father and is the main cause of Keegan's emotional and physical torture as a child, then he was equally terrible and I just had to be careful around him. Who knew what could be going on in his head?
"Thank you, but I don't think I need help for anything right now." I replied firmly so he didn't press on and walked away.
