Chapter 66 Chapter 66
I let out a harsh breath, still in shock from what the hell just happened. My eyes were glued to the door with high hopes that he was going to walk back in to finish what he had started. He couldn't just leave me feeling so aroused like that. My entire body was still vibrating and the throbbing of my heart and vulva was still crazily present.
How could he just let me admit that I belonged to him without fulfilling what my body wanted right now? How could his touch affect me that much?
I stopped to think of what happened to me. This was the first time I'd experience such desperation from only his touch. It made no sense that I wanted him to make it more extreme.
When I realized he wasn't returning, I hopped off the table and left for the bathroom, rinsing my face and wiped it off with a towel, ignoring that I had cleaned my makeup off.
I returned upstairs and took a few breathing exercises to calm myself down before walking back into the room.
It felt like everyone's eyes were on me as I awkwardly walked back to my seat. Glancing at Alpha Keegan, I realized he wasn't even glancing in my direction, only eating his food like he hadn't just almost made me pass out.
My coochie was still throbbing so much but I tried my best to ignore that and focused on my meal.
Chloe was gazing at me as she ate and it made me feel uncomfortable, like she could read my mind or she knew what had happened.
"Hey sweetheart," Vladimir called, smirking at me. This time, I didn't feel like blushing at his sweet tone but forced a smile and resumed my meal, munching on it as quickly as I could, ready to get out of here." Do you know..." Vladimir trailed off and his hand rested on my thigh again.
This time, it made me feel irritated and uncomfortable. I pulled my leg from him and resumed my food.
He looked puzzled but also focused on his meal without another word or gesture.
I tried to avoid his and anyone's else's gaze, acting like nothing happened, just like Alpha Keegan was acting.
The rest of the dinner went by with me maintaining absolute silence and the most annoying and frustrating issue was that Alpha Keegan still didn't bother to glance at me even once. He made sure his gaze didn't meet mine but was discussing business- related matters with Mason and Scarlett at dinner, like that made any sense.
Kate was the first to leave the room then a few women walked in to clean the table.
"Mason, I need your attention for something."
Crystal said, creasing her forehead.
"Okay. Alpha Keegan, I'd take my leave now. Goodnight." He bowed his head then rose to his feet.
Alpha Keegan nodded in acknowledgement then Mason and Crystal took their leave. I knew there was nothing left to do here, but I didn't want to leave yet. When Vladimir took his leave and Chloe rose up as well, I decided to leave too before it remained only me and Alpha Keegan. I had to avoid him to avoid any embarrassment.
I left and just when I was about to open the door to Alpha Keegan's bedroom, Chloe called my name.
I glanced at her as she scuttled up to me. "What's up?"
"I'm good." I smiled.
"So... what happened between you and him?" she asked.
"Who's him?" I asked, my heart started pounding faster as I stared around, avoiding her gaze.
"Why do you seem nervous? What did Alpha Keegan say or do when he left to meet you?"
"Meet me?" I chortled. "What the heck are you saying? He didn't come to me." I didn't know why I was twittering like an idiot.
She squinted her eyes then shrugged. "If you say it's nothing, then I bet it is. I met this lady, Mae, she's extremely nice and kind of matches the vibes I love, so I made friends with. Do you want to hang out with us?"
"Of course, why not?" I smiled, glad she didn't press on.
"Let's go! We're going to have a drink, so you better watch out and just take milk instead, who knows if juices might make you drunk?" she teased.
I rolled my eyes at her. "I'll have grape juice."
She chuckled and snaked her arm around mine to lead me downstairs.
Mae, Chloe, and I had chatted our lives out and it was already past midnight, yet they still didn't seem like they were ready to stop talking and drinking while I only sat there with a full tummy after only two glasses of grape juice.
"I have to leave now." I rose to my feet, yawning and stretching.
"Why? Do you have to leave now?" From her smile, it was obvious that she was tipsy.
"Yes, I'm sleepy. You should also head to bed as well. Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Mae smiled.
I returned her smile before skipping upstairs and back to Alpha Keegan's room.
"Hopefully, he'll be in bed." I tried to convince myself and after a deep sigh, I turned the doorknob open and walked in, shocked to see him sitting on the bed and typing.
He lifted his gaze to me, his expression was as blank as ever, and remembering how he had just left me, a frown formed on my face.
I grabbed my towel and nightdress before heading to the bathroom and had the longest bath ever, hoping he would have fallen asleep.
When I returned, he was still on his laptop, causing my frown to return to my face.
I walked towards the bed and stopped, glancing over to the couch. I had been sleeping beside him on his bed for a few days now but he was either not beside me when I wanted to sleep and would've woken up way earlier than me or he'd be asleep while I just crawled up and slept beside him, so the fact that he was on his bed and awake made it seem really awkward to actually sleep beside him.
I couldn't sleep on the couch, it was way too uncomfortable than his soft and cushy bed.
I let out a low groan and concluded on the couch.
"You can sleep on the bed, don't give yourself such a hassle."
"So he finally speaks?" I muttered underneath my breath and he chuckled but his facial expression was still very blank afterwards. There was no way he could've heard me.
I rolled my eyes and crawled underneath the sheets, making sure to maintain a distance from him, but his strong forestry and lavender scent disturbed my nostrils and made my stomach churn so much. "So you're mad at me?" he asked, but I ignored him and shut my eyes, pretending to sleep. "Why?" Was he seriously asking me why? I scoffed. "Anyway, though I'm an Alpha, I won't force my opinion on you and won't make you make a decision against your will."
What the hell was he saying? He made me agree and just left? Wait. What the heck was wrong with me?
What did I want? Did I want to go extreme with him? The relationship was supposed to just be an act? How could I be mad because he couldn't fulfill the desire my body burned for?
To avoid unnecessary thoughts filling my head, I forced myself to fall asleep out of anger.
For some reason, I felt really short, like the size of a child while Alpha Keegan was way taller and someone else that looked exactly like the smaller version of me, with her hair tied up in a ponytail ran up to me.
"Jess, are you okay?" I asked, holding her blood coated cheeks with my shaky hands. She nodded. "He's coming for us. We have to run. Where's Mom? Where's Dad?" she cried.
"I have no idea." I cried back.
As we turned around, Kate was heading in our direction with so many werewolves killing our friends and family members.
"Run!" Jess called out to me and grabbed my hand as we both started running as fast as our small legs could carry us.
We finally noticed a woman running towards us, though I couldn't get a clear picture of her face, she felt faceless.
My heart was pounding faster than normal and the heat from the burning houses around us was making me very sweaty and more exhausted as I ran.
Kate was catching up with us and yelled to two other wolves who started following her. "Those are the princesses. Kill them! Kill every one of them!" she ordered and the wolves increased their pace.
Jess and I screamed as we increased our pace as well, heading to the woman running towards us, yelling " Mom" at the woman.
When she finally caught up with us, she grabbed both of us and lifted us in her arms and started running away from the wolves chasing us as well.
One of the wolves was way faster than us and grabbed Jess from her as Jess fell to the ground, the force she fell with made hit her head hard on the ground and lose consciousness.
"Jess!" I screamed and out of nowhere, a fully-grown Alpha Keegan appeared with a sinister grin on his face.
"Please spare my child." Mom cried, kneeling down as the wolves and Alpha Keegan surrounded us and Jess.
They said something to one another then I don't know how it happened and neither did I have a clear visual of it, but Alpha Keegan cut off Jess' head from her body.
Mom and I screamed at the top of our lungs and we were both trembling, but when she noticed Kate and the other werewolves started running to us, she quickly rose to her feet and managed to kick one of the wolves really hard in the chest whilst still carrying me in her arms; it gave her a narrow escape space she took advantage of and resuming running away. When we noticed Freya was heading in our direction, she started to dart in Freya's direction.
As they chased us, Alpha Keegan was no longer in the scene; my heart was pounding extremely fast and my gaze was blurry as I continued yelling Jess' name. Watching her splitted head and body, it felt like her soul was crying to me.
Mom caught up with a quivering Freya and handed me over to her.
"Jess!" I screamed in, trembling from the horror that my twin sister was just murdered right in front of me. "Please keep her safe.
" Mom said, crying. "Mom, where are you going?" I asked in my very tiny tear-filled voice.
"Don't worry sweetheart, we'll be back very soon. Just stay safe. Freya, please run very far away with Jane, okay?" Mom said and headed in the direction of the wolves and many town members running around and screaming for help for their dear lives.
Freya quickly started running away with me in her arms, running past so many dead bodies and panicking members.
After a while of running, with me still for Mom and Jess to come back, we were stopped by a few hefty men. As she tried to run back, more men surrounded her.
"Please let us go." Freya pleaded. "She's the heir to the throne. We have to kill her."
One of the men said to the others. "Please just spare my niece, she won't be the heir, we'll run away and live normal lives." She pleaded. "Are you listening to her? Fucking kill both of them." another man yelled from behind us and as Freya and I turned around, one of the men raised a dagger above me, and was about to stab me.
I screamed my life out and shut my eyes.
Still screaming, I jerked to sit up straight and re- opened my eyes, waiting for the feeling of the dagger blade thrusting into my chest, only to realize I was in bed.
"Are you okay?" a worried Alpha Keegan asked.
Remembering that he had cut Jess' head off, I hit him so hard and pushed him away. "Get away from me, you fucking monster!" I panted, my entire body was still very sweaty from the heat of the fire and my heart was pounding way faster than normal. "What's wrong?" He asked again, his brows were curled upwards and he still tried to hold me but I hit him really hard, pushing him away from me again.
"Let me go! I hate you, I fucking hate you motherfucking asshole!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, still hitting his chest and arms with every strength in me.
Despite my attacks, he still didn't leave me alone and grabbed my arm to stop me from hitting him, and pulled me into a hug. "It's okay, please be calm." His voice was very soothing and as he glided his fingers through my hair, a wave of calmness surrounded me. I continued crying my eyes out, unable to get rid of the horror of being attacked and almost getting stabbed. "It's fine, it's just a nightmare, stay calm." When he planted a kiss on my forehead, I felt completely at ease, it felt like an ocean washed away my fear and anger. It made no sense. How could he be the cause of it and still be able to cause me to calm down.
I continued sobbing with my head buried in his chest while he whispered soothing words to me, and stroked me with so much care.
I felt completely safe in his arms and soon fell asleep again.
