Chapter 24 Chapter 24
I arrived at the pack house with Mrs. Bea while Scarlett had to leave for training. It was obvious that she still had something to say, but Mrs. Bea's presence disturbed her from speaking to me.
"Freshen up first. You stink." Mrs. Bea scrunched her face at me. "When you're done, there's a whole lot of cleaning that needs to be done. You'll begin with cleaning the kitchen then making a meal for everyone. Once you're done with that, let me know." She ordered.
"Yes, Mrs. Bea." I bowed my head at her then staggered up the stairs till I arrived at my room. The door was still shattered and the only thing in the room was my plastic bag of my belongings that I had left in Alpha Keegan's car.
I laid on the floor for a few minutes to take a short nap till I could feel my body again. Remembering Mrs. Bea was going to be expecting me and how she could get angry, I jerked up straight and left to have a long bath, hissing every second from the pain the water caused against my bruised skin and welts; the bath water also had a mixture of red in it from my injuries' blood stains.
When I had a bath, Mrs. Bea threw a sweater and sweatpants for me to wear, claiming that I needed to conceal the bruises and marks on my body from the beatings to avoid disgusting others.
"Thank you." I said to her after I was dressed and trudged to the kitchen.
As tired as I was with my hands shaking due to their weakness, I still managed to make the meal for the pack house members for the rest of the day, making sure to eat a mountain of food to regain my strength and also drank multiple glasses of water.
As I did the dishes, I ignored the rustling sounds from outside the kitchen window. It sounded again, like someone was right outside the window. This time, it startled me. I succumbed to peek through the window. "Hello?" I called, but no response. "Anyone there?"
I saw something run past the window at a speed faster than normal. My heart beat rate automatically increased as I opened the window to look around, yet still nothing.
"No one is there, nothing at all. It's just my imagination." I assured myself, shaking my head to maintain my sanity.
"If you're done imagining things, you have to clean the pack house." I flinched at Mrs. Bea's voice.
"You startled me." I placed my hand on my chest as it rose and fell fast in panic.
She rolled her eyes at me. "Make sure you clean everywhere, not a single spot must be left out." She ordered.
"Yes, Mrs. Bea." I bowed my head again.
"Stupid thing." She scoffed and took her leave. When I was done with cleaning the tower of dishes, I served everyone's lunch on the dining table then began cleaning everywhere, avoiding Alpha Keegan's room.
I knew Alpha Keegan was going to be in training but I didn't want to take the risk of seeing him because I was certainly going to express my hatred toward him and place myself in even more trouble.
How could he be so terrible and ask for increments in my punishments? How could he order Shane to punish me so mercilessly? Of course, he was Alpha Keegan, what else could I have expected from such a monstrous person that didn't care about anyone's life?
I cleaned the entire house for the next few hours. Dizziness and weakness were an understatement to what I felt at the moment. I wanted to give up and rest, but I couldn't. If I didn't clean, I'd have to return to my punishment. I didn't want that, the suffering at pack prison was too unbearable for me, so I was going to waste my time cleaning here, even if it meant cleaning a particular spot fifty times. Instead of cleaning Alpha Keegan's room, I opted to clean my room, getting rid of the broken door and mopped everywhere.
The bruises on my body stung, sending a wave of pain all through my body. "This is too much for me. Why am I so unfortunate to belong to such a pack? Why do I even exist?" I dropped to the floor, bursting into tears with intermittent silent sobbing. My tears were a combination of a great mass of the long-term grief called my life. I had no one to run to to embrace me, no shoulder to cry on. I was all alone. It was just me against the world. I had no part in deciding my fate, my life was so useless, my existence was pointless.
I cried my eyes out, ignoring the pain all over my body. My head burned with a terrible headache, my stomach churned in pain, my heart felt like it was pierced with a sword, everything around me was nothing but pain.
The sound of a pen dropping made me crane my neck in the direction of the door, taken aback to see Alpha Keegan watching me. He had a file in his hand and his pen had clearly just fallen off from it.
I wiped my tears off and rose to my feet. 'Everything happening to me was all Alpha Keegan's fault.' Something in my head reminded me at fact. It was his fault because he had made up his mind to make the omega in his pack life a living hell.
"Do you need anything, Alpha?" my tone didn't bother to hide the hatred swirling in me.
"How are you out here and not in prison?" He picked his pen up.
"Oh, I'm sorry for not remaining in the punishment you've assigned for me. The pack house is a mess and it's no surprise that I'm the only one available to attend to it. I'll be back to the dungeon tonight." My face failed me by putting on a frown.
He didn't say a word, only staring at me, his eyes were a combination of multiple emotions I found difficult to read-ranging from its usual sternness to confusion, and many more.
"Bring my food to my room." He said and took his leave.
I wiped my face again with the arm of my sweater, sniffling as I left my room to serve Alpha Keegan's food and carried the tray to his room.
He set his phone aside, watching me closely as I served his dinner on the table.
"Did you make my coffee?" he asked and I nodded, determined to not utter a word to him, at least for now to hide my fury. "Okay."
He walked up to his chair to begin eating while I grabbed my cleaning equipment to clean his room. "I don't need you to clean my room. Just go to bed or something." His voice was calm, a very suspicious calmness. Was he trying to be nice? What sort of fake sympathy? He definitely needed something from it. I mean, if he had assigned Liam to whip me, why would he care whether or not I rested? Despite the constant abuse and bullies I had experienced with my pack members, I had a slight feeling of trust that Alpha Keegan didn't support women abuse- not emotional abuse- like Liam's, at least I thought, but he had destroyed that little faith in humanity I had in him.
Ignoring him, I continued cleaning his room, making sure to not miss a spot. His gaze rested on me and made my pain feel worse, my hatred also increased for him at every second, causing a pang in my heart, like it was being squeezed.
"Omega," he called, yet I pretended to not have heard him. "What are you trying to do? You want to ignore me intentionally?" He sounded pissed off this time, yet that strange calmness still resided in his voice. I grabbed my cleaning equipment, ready to leave when he held by hand, his touch grazing the bruise on my wrist. The sharp pain I felt made me hiss and drop my cleaning equipment.
"Are you hurt there?" He held my hand to lift my sweater up, exposing my bruised skin. Something glimmered in his eyes, something that almost looked like worry or fury.
"Omega, someone is here to take you back to prison."
A lady said, causing Alpha Keegan to quickly drop my hand like he was committing a crime. 2 "Okay, I'll be there soon." I needed to get rid of the mess of the cleaning equipment.
"He demanded that you come now. You're exceeding your time out here." She frowned at me as she stood in akimbo.
"Okay." I ignored the equipment on the floor and followed behind her till I stopped by my room door." I'd have to wear my dress. Mrs. Bea wouldn't appreciate me wearing this to the pack prison." "How's that my problem? Just go to him when you're done with your shit." She spat and turned around, her long hair flicked my face in the process.
I left for my room and got rid of the sweater and sweatpants to get into a long gown; it was flimsy and was definitely not going to protect me from the pack prison cold, but it was the thickest one I had. Without wasting time and causing any trouble for myself, I scurried down the stairs and to the living room.
My legs instantly became numb at the sight of Liam holding chains that were obviously meant for me; of course, he was smirking again when he noticed my presence, a stupid expression that never missed a chance to set panic in me.
"Hurry up, we need to close the prison gates already."
He hid his smirk behind a frigid face. Scarlett glanced at me from the dining table, her blue eyes were filled with pity for me once again. The other members of the pack house didn't bother about my presence a bit.
Liam chained me and pulled me out of the pack house with him. There was no car driving us, so this was going to be a very long walk.
We continued walking into the darkness of the night, my gown didn't do a great job in reducing the cold I ought to feel from the just a breeze, Liam was surprisingly very silent as well, an action I appreciated. We had walked for about ten minutes when Liam pulled me to a different turn rather than the road to the prison. "Uhm...where are we going!" I asked, panic igniting in me again.
"It's a short cut. The walk can still take about fifteen to thirty minutes. With this shortcut, we'll be at the pack prison in about five minutes." He explained, sounding confident and sincere. "Let's just head to the prison through the normal route." I stomped my feet on the ground to stop him in his tracks, I didn't want to risk trusting him. "Are you out of your mind? Why would I want to waste my time walking too much when there's a shirt cut? I have a patrol tonight. I won't let your stubbornness delay me." He increased his pace so my stomping couldn't affect him.
I felt myself running to keep up with his pace, my heart started throbbing faster as he led us into a bush.
There were still a few light bulbs dangling from the branches of the trees, but it was still a bush. "Liam, please stop." My voice cracked as I pleased. He didn't stop for a bit, increasing his pace. "Let's just head through the normal way." I stopped my feet deeper into the sand, not moving at all. "What the fuck is your problem?" He groaned, tugging at the chains for me to move. "No!" I insisted, folding my arms across my chest to reduce the impact of the pull. "Your stubbornness is choking the air out of me.! Don't piss me off and move now!" He groaned. "Normal route." I didn't know where this boldness to insist came from, but I was determined to not move. He drew his lips into a snarl and without further argument, he scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder and started running really fast while my chains dragged on the floor behind him. "Hey! Drop me down! Help!" I screamed. He continued running into the bushes, while I screamed my lungs out for help, hitting his shoulders with my fists for a while.
"What are you doing with her? Drop her now." Someone said.
I grinned in relief that someone had come to my rescue.
"I have to take her to the pack prison." Liam stated and stopped running.
"Please help me." I still struggled to get off Liam's shoulder. "Hey," the man called to someone in the direction of a tree then one other man ran out from the other side of the bush. "This lady is screaming for help yet he wouldn't let her go." He explained.
"Man, don't do that. Drop her." The other man said in a more authoritative tone.
"Drop me!" I hit Liam's back again with my fists. This time, he listened and dropped me. I ran into the stand behind one of my saviors. They looked identical with the same black hair and almond eyes. They were also a bit heftier than Liam, so I felt very secure that they could beat him up if he didn't listen.
"Why would you want to harm such a little kitten?"
The man pulled me from behind him, a sinister smile crawling up to his lips.
"Uh...thank you for helping me." I started running away, but a force halted my movement and made me fall, face-flat to the ground. I turned and jerked my head up to the man, realizing that he had stepped on my chain to make me fall. "Where are you headed to?" The other man, advancing towards me, wearing a devious smile as well.
"Wh-what is going on? Let me go!" I demanded, pulling the chain to get it out from under his feet." Aren't you supposed to be saving me from him?" They both burst into laughter, striding to me in slow steps. At this point, they looked even more dangerous than Liam, causing my heart to race faster. "Liam, please do something!" I cried to Liam who was standing still, looking gormless, not saying a word. "Didn't I warn you? I'm not a patient man." He advanced towards me, wearing a smirk that matched the identical man's evil grin.
"What is going on here?" My eyes were filled with tears as my breath quickened. "I want you, okay? Whenever Liam desires something, he must have it." He hovered over me and ripped my gown off without effort while both men held each of my arms.
