Chapter 22 Chapter 22
"Wh-What offer?" I stuttered.
"Nah, it's not a big deal." He shrugged, "it's not like it's something you can't offer. I'm the main person Alpha has assigned to be in charge of your punishment since Shane is busy, so as his friend, I'm dealing with you on his behalf. I can... maybe help reduce your punishment, feed you in secret, and many more advantages, just under one condition."
"What condition?" I balled my sweaty hands, locking them behind me as I moved backwards a bit.
"I need you. Since the first day I set my eyes on you, there's been a burning desire to have my way. Everything about you tastes good. I'm sure you'll taste amazing down there as well." His eyes ran over my body.
I felt naked under his gaze and had to cover my chest with my arms. "No, Liam."
"Don't just refuse me. Think about it. There are so many advantages. If I chose to remain your punisher, then Shane wouldn't be able to bother you. As long as you fulfill my desires, I'll drastically reduce your punishments till there's none at all. I'd help you reduce your pain in so many ways."
"No way!" I shook my head. "I'd rather die here than cheat on my future mate."
"You mean Alpha Keegan? That dude would never be your mate."
"Not Alpha Keegan. I know my originally destined mate will come. I know the moon goddess wouldn't forsake me."
"And what if I'm the one."
"Just chain me back." My voice on the verge of yelling, my breath quickening.
"Fine. I won't do anything against your will." he chained me back to the walls, his hands grazing my skin in the process. "I'll give you time to think about it. Just remember that I'm not a patient man. Goodnight sweetheart." He turned and took his leave.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, a part of me was glad he didn't force anything, another part of me was drenched in the horror of his request. This had to be unacceptable. There was no way Alpha Keegan approved of this, was there?
I was once again awoken by the sound of someone's boots against the floor of the dungeon. It didn't sound like Liam's bouts, that was at least a good start for the morning.
The morning light from the dungeon window against my skin burned a little but not enough pain to be equal to my current pain. I needed treatment and urgent medical attention; I was certainly not getting anything soon.
"Mr. Shane." I smiled, at least grateful he was here today. His punishment included taking me to the bench of shame while a few people threw things at me, laughed at me, or insulted me. I could deal with that than the personal torture of Liam.
I let him uncgain me and started pulling me away till I finally succumbed to tell him about last night. "Mr. Shane, last night, Liam -"
"Mr. Liam, show your respect, stupid mutt." He corrected.
"I'm sorry. I meant, last night, Mr. Liam was here and he unchained me at the inappropriate time from the normal time I was supposed to be unchained. That is supposed to be illegal in the pack, right?"
"No. Everything happening to you is based on Alpha's order. Your crime is way worse than any other criminal's crime. Whatever Liam did is right."
I followed behind him as he walked, pulling me with the chains. "But he said he has two offers for me in order to lessen my punishment, he wants me to fulfill his personal desires."
"So what?" He suddenly stopped in his tracks and pivoted, causing me to bump into his chest. "You don't seem to realize your punishment and mistake yet?" his forehead furrowed.
"I realize my mistake and I deeply apologize. Don't you also think this punishment is a little too much for me? I'm just a weak and useless mutt that has made a mistake. Liam― Mr. Lian shouldn't have any right to
"You will not speak or complain about your punishment any more. Alpha Keegan is aware of everything and wants us to make your punishments even worse. Shut up now and follow my lead.

"Why do I feel so strange?" I groaned, staring at myself in the mirror. The stress on my face was still present, but it lacked the glow of pride. The past week had been the most disturbing week of my life.
I could hardly concentrate on anything at all. There were so maly paperwork I had to deal with, but my mind constantly traveled to the omega and how she was doing and it made me feel no motivation for pack trainings lately and I wasn't caring about anything surrounding me.
Because I didn't want to go to the Omega's dungeon to avoid drawing suspicion, I had multiple trails of straining my ears to hear what the omega had to say, but the only sounds I ended up hearing after stressing my ears out were either some market women gossiping or people commenting about my bravery or scolding their children or something, increasing my frustration Why was I feeling this way? She was just a mere Omega? I had always taught myself to be strong and not care about anything or anyone. I had even cut all my friendships and relationships just to remain strong, emotionless, cold, ruthless, and heartless.
The Omega's punishment was the only thing that affected me this much for the first time in many years. I had gone through the laws again to see if there was a law that could set her free, but my uncancellable laws had no way out for my omega, only rigid and dreading rules to follow.
With a groan, I slapped the papers to the table and threw a few of the contracts I was reading away, lowering my head between my palms while digging my fingers into my disheveled hair.
The paper flew to the floor and landed right in front of someone's feet. I lifted my head from the feet and to Scarlett's face, my frustration increased that she was just another person that could do nothing to help my situation.
"Hey Alpha." She picked the paper up, smirking as she walked up to me, her hips felt like they were swaying more than normal. "I think you dropped this," she placed the papers on the table.
"Can I have time alone to myself?"
"Yes, you can, Alpha, but not Keegan. You haven't even had anything to eat yet. You're just stuck with paperwork and your frustration. Remember you can also share your frustrations with me, your best friend." She winked at me.
A line formed between my brows, irritation by the term she refered to herself as. "Is there any important information you'd like to pass across to me?"
"Not yet."
"Then why are you here?"
"To make you eat. Please Keegan, it's for your own benefit."
"Don't forget your manners when speaking to your Alpha." My tone was calmer, like I was pondering about whether or not I needed at least one person to call me by my name without reminding me of my title as the Alpha and the stress associated with it.
"Let's just head for lunch, shall we?" she held my hand, pulling me up. Remembering how the omega had also held me to make me stand at the: restaurant made Scarlett's touch burn me.
I yanked my hand out of her grip and rose to my feet on my accord. "What's for lunch?" I cleared my throat. Spending time away from work could make me calm down and snap back to my senses. "Anything you'd like. Just select your preference."
"Okay. Let someone serve it and bring it to my my private dining section."
"Sure, no problem." She grinned and took her leave while I left for my private dining room. After a while, Scarlett returned, serving the food by herself. She served for both of us and sat beside me without my permission.
"Everything in the pack is going great. I trained more people-".
"I'm trying to keep my head off work." I shushed her. "Say something else."
"Sorry." She chuckled, clearing her throat and shoved a fork of spaghetti into her mouth. "So... what happened at Night Shadow pack?" she asked with food still in her mouth.
"Mason already told you.".
"He did. The business part." She swallowed her food. "
I mean yourself. Did you enjoy your stay?"
"No." "Why not? Tell me everything." She grinned like a 5- year-old staring at an ice cream truck.
"Why would I?"
"Tell me...." she wiggled her eyebrows, playfully poking me. It reminded me of old times when we played and she'd poke and tickle me to drive words out of my mouth; the days when we were only interested in our lives as children and not bothering about an entire back. The sweet memories made a millisecond smile appeared on my face. "I made the badboy Alpha smile. Shit, you've stopped, why didn't I take a photo of it?" she grinned, pouting in feigned regret. "Don't worry, I'll get it next time." She ruffled my hair.
"Scarlett!" I growled.
"It's already a mess. Stop being so grumpy all the time." She poked me again, slipping her phone out of her pocket to record. "Please smile at least." She continued poking me, attempting to tickle me, but to no avail. I rolled my eyes at her failed attempts to tickle me. "It doesn't work, silly. I'm an Alpha." "Just smile again, please." She pouted. What the heck? Her role as the pack's Beta had made me forget how childish she was. "Aw... you two look so good together." Mom said, startling me a bit. "Oops, my bad for not knocking first." She walked in and sat on the chair by my other side. The fury-filled aura surrounded me again as her presence sent loads of inconvenience to me.
"I bet we do." Scarlett winked. "Definitely. You'll have the perfect little pups ever." Mom grinned.
"No, thank you." My frown returned and I stood up, the force of my action pushed the chair backwards with a screeching sound. "I'll leave you two together since you're ready to chit chat." "Don't leave, Keegan." Mom held my hand. "Why don't you ever want to speak to me? Why does my presence still bother you? How long will you remain cold?"
"You should respect your Alpha's decision, Luna Kate. Let's maintain the relationship as previous Luna and current Alpha and only speak about the wellness of the pack when necessary. Goodbye."
I took my leave, ready to face another torture of thinking about the Omega's state.
