Chapter 20 Chapter 20

Chapter 20 Chapter 20
~ JANE -
I shoved the last piece of my belongings into my plastic bag as well as the red dress, because Chloe insisted that I take it.
"I can't believe you were drunk last night." She shook her head.
"Me neither. I still feel tipsy."
"Girl, you'll need to train and work on your strength."
"I wish I could, but I can't. If I had known, I'd have spent more time training with your pack members. I probably got accustomed to being here and forgot that I was going to be returning." I sighed.
"Me too. I got so used to you, now I'll miss you so fucking much." She pulled me into a hug. "Please don't forget me. Your stupid pack will make your life a living hell. Plus, they didn't let you have a phone for me to call you."
"We might never see each other again." I returned her hug, feeling water trickle at the corner of my eyes.
"Don't worry." She pulled away. "I'll make sure I get in touch with you no matter what. I'll definitely see you again. Plus, you'll need to keep me updated about how seducing your Alpha is turning out. Earlier, I slipped my book of seduction advice into your plastic bag, if it'll help."
"Chloe!"
"You definitely need it." She smirtled.
"Jane? You're being called." A lady interrupted us. " Your Gamma said you shouldn't waste anyone's time again."
"Okay. I'll be there soon. Bye." I waved at Chloe and held my plastic bag.
"One more hug!" She pulled me to her again. I wiped a tear drop from my face before pulling away from her. She accompanied me to the door where we met up with Vladimir.
"I'll miss staring at your beautiful face all morning." He commented, causing heat to rise to my cheeks
"I'll miss your kindness too, Vladimir." I added because that could be the last time I'll ever mention his name. I hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me as well.
The loud horn from the black SUV made me pull away from him really fast. "I'm sorry.. I mean, bye." I said and we both chuckled.
"Goodbye, Jane."
I grinned and scurried to the SUV and got into it without bothering to ask if I ought to be in one of the buses again.
Alpha Keegan's face was painted with a frown shot at me.
"Start the car." He ordered the driver who started the car and zoomed off immediately, not giving me the chance to wave back at Chloe one last time. The three white buses started driving behind us as well.
I heaved a sigh and lifted my gaze to Alpha Keegan's burning one.
"I'm sorry for last night. I didn't know I was going to be drunk. I probably forgot I'm not a strong werewolf like others."
The muscles in his face relaxed. He only stared without a word. It seemed like he was contemplating on whether or not to reply to me.
I took my gaze off him, my head still pounding from the terrible headache I had had all morning. It felt like my head was swirling around. I just needed to sleep more.

It was night time, so we had to stop by one of the shelter houses again.
I still felt really giddy though I had slept through most of the drive. Alpha Keegan announced orders to Mason and the other men, none of which I bothered to pay attention to, only expecting to share the same room with him again.
When others had left, he walked into one of the shelter houses and shut the door, still not saying anything to me.
Did I really offend him while I was drunk? I had no memory of last night. I only remembered not kissing Vladimir and waking up on the couch in Alpha Keegan's room.
I sat on the porch, staring around in dread. It was getting darker and the night breeze was becoming colder. The birds' chirpings, the owls' hottings didn't scare me as much as when the lights flickered. I couldn't remain here all night long.
What if Alpha Keegan didn't want me in and I went in? What if he wanted me in but didn't want to tell me? Was I supposed to ask him or Mason or anyone else? I was so confused on what decision to make.
After a while, the rustling of the bushes scared me even more till I was forced to go in, convincing myself that Alpha Keegan would've been fast asleep.
To my surprise, he was still awake, typing on his laptop. His tiredness could be read in his bored eyes.
"I'm sorry if I'm not supposed to be here." I apologized, still he didn't look at me.
The room was similar to the other shelter house from last time, except that it had no armchair for me to sleep on, just the bed.
"Can I use the bathroom?" I asked. Of course he didn't respond to me. What had I said to offend him? I left for the bathroom with my plastic bag and changed into my nightdress.
When I returned to the bedroom, he was still on his laptop.
I took a few clothes from my plastic bag and laid them on the floor to serve as my bed, just like I did in the pack house. I slept on it, seriously hoping that he was going to offer his duvet to me to serve as my mattress, and maybe even offer for me to sleep on the bed.
Still... nothing.
Though I always complained about his grumpiness and trembled whenever he yelled, his silence made me miss him yelling at me, if that made any sense.

I woke up and met myself on the bed with a duvet covering. Alpha Keegan wasn't beside me, he wasn't in the room. How could I have slept off and not noticed I was transported to the bed?
I headed to the bathroom and hurried to have my bath and wore my sundress. My stomach didn't stop grumbling, reminding me that the last meal I had was breakfast yesterday.
I arranged my clothes back into the plastic bag and headed outside and straight to the car, greeting everyone in my way with a bow
It took a few minutes till Alpha Keegan got into the car and the driver started.
"Good morning Alpha." I tried to brighten the morning with a grin. He glared at me, still not saying a word. "I'm sorry." I added and lowered my gaze to my hands as I fiddled with them.

We finally arrived at the pack from the long drive. My head hurt so bad. I had been pondering on the Omega's words and her tears still affected me, ruining my entire mood. I knew I was terrible and loved being terrible, but something about her made me feel bad.
Hopefully, no one was going to remember her punishment.
"Welcome back, Alpha." Scarlett greeted me, grinning from ear to ear.
The driver had to stop by the center of the town because the entire pack members had gathered there to welcome their Alpha back. "Thank you all for being here." I waved at them in appreciation. "We'll publish the outcome of the meeting in the pack newspaper Tomorrow."
After addressing the pack members, we were prepared to return to the cars when Shane grabbed my omega's arm.
"Where are you heading to? You have to resume your punishment. Chain her." He ordered Grant. She stared at me, her deep blue eyes were pleading for me to rescue her. I had promised them that she was going to return to her punishment, I couldn't go back on my word.
Grant locked her hands with three chains as a few of the pack members celebrated the act.
"Please, I can't return to that." She begged Shane in almost a whisper.
"Did you really think you'll get away with rejecting the Alpha? Have you lost your mind?" He frowned at her, his chocolate eyes possessing their signature fury.
A few of the pack members uttered hurting words against her.
"Please Alpha," she joined her palms together, the tears in her eyes made my chest feel tight. "Alpha wouldn't go back on his word and save you.
Move!" Grant pulled the chain, forcing her to budge.
He was right, I couldn't go back on my word. I didn't care about her. She had rejected me, I couldn't forget that; the embarrassment that came along with it, how she had hurt my pride. Remembering the rejection made rage fuel in me once again and every weird emotion in me flushed away.
"Let's leave." I said to Mason and Scarlett, walking towards the car with my hands locked behind me. " Mason, discuss the outcome of the meeting with Scarlett." I ordered him.
I didn't strain my ears to listen to what the omega was saying, yet her silent sobs hit my eardrum like sound waves. Something like pity ran through me, but I shook it off immediately. I couldn't ruin my image by feeling pity for an ordinary omega.

My mood still felt destroyed. I wasn't comfortable with myself. As far as the omega was from me, I could still hear her sobs and it felt like I could feel her pain, it felt like my body was burning, like I was being hit by something. This made no sense. Why was I feeling this way?
'We can't let our mate be released, it'll ruin the image we've built and painted ourselves as for so many years.' Drex groaned, also experiencing the same frustration I was experiencing. 'Yes. I'm so pissed off that I feel like this. I haven't been able to work all day and I don't have the appetite for any food.' I dropped my pen on the desk and left for my room, dropping onto my bed.
'I also want her to be punished for rejecting us, but I want her to be fine.' He admitted.
'Me too.' 'Let's check up on her.'
'No way!' I retorted.
'No one had to find out. Let's just know how she's doing. It's night time. Everyone would either be getting assigned for patrol or sleeping or doing anything else.'
It took a while of contemplation till I succumbed to Drex's desire and wore a hoodie before leaving the house and walked to the pack prison. "You stupid bitch!" I heard a man growl, accompanied by the Omega's scream and cry.
I fastened my steps and peeked into the dungeon, watching as a man lifted a thick leather and hit the Omega's body.
'What the heck? How dare he hit her?' Drex growled.
