Chapter 140 Today's Kiss is Sweet and Sour
An hour later, Frederick came back downstairs.
In the living room on the first floor, Rebecca was holding a plate of blueberries and watching a variety show.
She didn't even notice him coming downstairs and standing behind her, her eyes glued to the TV screen.
"Is it good?"
Frederick's deep voice sounded. Rebecca nodded instinctively, "Yes, it's good."
As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized something was off.
Rebecca turned around and saw Frederick standing behind the sofa.
"Done with your meeting?"
Casually setting aside the glass plate, Rebecca noticed Frederick's displeased expression. While attentively massaging his shoulders, she said nonchalantly, "But nothing's as good-looking as you!"
Frederick's expression softened, showing he was pleased.
Rebecca pressed on, "You're not just handsome, you're also gentle and considerate! You worked so hard, honey!"
Her eyes caught sight of the blueberries in the plate. Rebecca smiled, "Want some blueberries? They're really good!"
"Yes..."
Frederick nodded.
Rebecca bent down.
Before her fingers could touch the edge, Frederick swept her up by the waist and kissed her.
Unlike the usual sweetness, today's kiss had a sweet and sour taste.
It made her mouth water.
What started as a light kiss gradually became more intense. Rebecca was so embarrassed that tears nearly came out, "Frederick, no... don't!"
Layla was preparing lunch in the kitchen, and if she listened carefully, she could still faintly hear the sound of dishes.
If she came out and turned around, she'd see exactly what they were doing.
Every cell in her body was burning, yet she was so dizzy from his kiss that her hands didn't even have the strength to push him away.
Rebecca was almost crying from anxiety.
He'd only meant to tease her a bit, but unexpectedly, his self-control was ridiculously poor.
Frederick took a breath, and just before pulling away, he sucked hard on the tip of her tongue, "Mm, really delicious!"
Rebecca was stunned.
He was talking about the blueberries being delicious, right?
She glared at him hard, then sat back on the sofa, picked up the fruit plate, and bit into the blueberries one by one with deliberate, crisp crunches.
As if she wasn't biting blueberries, but him.
Frederick's eyes showed amusement.
After lunch, Frederick said he needed to go back to the office.
Rebecca nodded obediently, but no matter how you looked at it, she didn't seem like someone who would actually behave.
Frederick walked a few steps, then came back to remind her, "If you're bored, you can invite Isabella over to hang out, but don't go outside!"
Looking at the bright sunshine outside, such rare nice weather.
What a waste not to go out!
Rebecca wanted to put up a fight.
But then she saw the dangerous look in Frederick's eyes, "If you go out and catch a cold wind and feel sick again, Becca, I don't mind taking a month off to stay home and watch you!"
The hair on Rebecca's neck stood up.
Over the past three days, she'd barely gotten out of bed.
For meals, Frederick brought her a small table tray.
For water, Frederick fed her, and sometimes when he saw her struggling to get up, he'd just drink it himself and pass it to her mouth-to-mouth.
When she needed the bathroom but her legs were weak, she could have slowly walked there holding the wall, but Frederick insisted on carrying her.
He'd set her down in front of the toilet and seriously ask if she needed help taking off her pants.
Countless scenes flashed through her mind. Just thinking about living like that for a whole month made Rebecca want to run away.
"I won't go out!"
She shook her head decisively. Afraid he wouldn't believe her, Rebecca raised her hand to swear, "I promise!"
Frederick left satisfied. Soon, the sound of his car faded from near to far.
The living room became quiet. Thinking back to her spineless behavior just now, Rebecca covered her face and collapsed onto the sofa.
