Chapter 218 Fortunately, Just in Time
Jessica thought she could manage not to care.
But from the second Rebecca walked out of the exhibition hall, her mind was flooded with images of her and Dennis together.
When Rebecca smiled, Dennis would smile along with her, wouldn't he?
If Rebecca was sad, would Dennis feel so heartbroken that he'd hold her in his arms and comfort her softly?
Then, that Ferrari that brought her to Azure Water Bay would carry Rebecca away.
Dennis could hold Rebecca, take whatever he wanted, calling out "Becca" over and over again. This time, he wouldn't turn his back on her after it was over, would he?
He finally got what he wanted!
Just thinking about Dennis and Rebecca rolling around in bed made Jessica grit her teeth in hatred.
Blood seeped from her palm. The moment she came to her senses, Jessica ran out of the exhibition hall abruptly.
With just one glance, she saw Dennis and Rebecca standing in front of the Ferrari.
She only heard Dennis say, "Forgive me one more time, just one last time, okay?"
Jessica felt a wave of relief wash over her. Good, there's still time!
"Rebecca, Dennis..."
Jessica walked up to them, looking innocent. "What are you two talking about?"
"Nothing!" they chorused.
Jessica's face went pale for a moment.
Rebecca frowned, couldn't help wondering what unlucky day this was.
First, she was kicked out of the exhibition hall by that despicable plagiarist.
Then she ran into Dennis and Jessica.
What terrible luck!
Not wanting to stay another minute, Rebecca looked up at Dennis. "I heard you two are together now. Congratulations! I have things to do, I'm leaving!"
Walking past Dennis, Rebecca headed straight toward the beach.
Staring blankly at Rebecca's retreating figure, Dennis's face looked extremely unpleasant.
Just then, what was she about to say?
Did she forgive him, or would she never forgive him?
If she forgave him, even if they couldn't go back to their sweet, loving past, at least she wouldn't instinctively step back when she saw him. She wouldn't be afraid of him or try to avoid him.
Someday, he'd be able to win her back from Frederick.
If she didn't forgive him, didn't that prove she still hated him?
Still hating him meant there was still love in her heart.
Their years of feelings for each other—how could they just let go like that?
She must still love him, just like he loved her. Otherwise, why would she break off their engagement one moment and marry Frederick the next?
Part of it was certainly to save the Getty family, but at the same time, wasn't it also to get revenge on him, to punish him?
Becca must still love him!
Didn't that mean that someday in the future, she might change her mind?
Just thinking about Rebecca leaving Frederick and running into his arms, while Frederick stood in the distance looking furious—even just imagining it made Dennis feel incredibly satisfied.
But all of this was interrupted by Jessica.
"Who told you to come?"
His voice cold, Dennis turned to look at Jessica and smirked. "Jessica, I've been too nice to you, haven't I?"
Glancing at her coldly, Dennis looked back at Rebecca's retreating figure, walked around the car, and got into the driver's seat.
The car door slowly closed.
With a press of the gas pedal, the Ferrari sped off toward downtown.
Left standing there, Jessica's face turned expressionless. She clenched her fists, her body trembling like a falling leaf.
Looking in the direction Rebecca had left, the venom in her eyes couldn't help but overflow.
