Chapter 196 How Can He Be So Bad
Being sexually frustrated was one thing.
But having to take care of the kid and then have her make demands on top of that.
Rebecca put herself in his shoes for a moment and felt she was being a bit too much.
Then she saw Frederick put down his laptop and walk over. "What's wrong? Got yourself into some trouble?"
"I did not get into trouble!"
Being led by the hand all the way to the dining room, Rebecca studied Frederick's expression and said softly, "I wanted to ask, among those subsidiaries under the Windsor Group, are there any that need foreign language part-timers, like translation work or something? Document translation would work too."
Her voice got quieterRebecca wasn't feeling very confident.
Never mind the Windsor Group itself.
As for those subsidiaries under the Group, forget about dedicated translators—even the secretaries working for the executives, any one of them would be top-notch in foreign languages, the kind who could go abroad without needing to bring a translator.
Trying to find Lucy a suitable part-time job seemed pretty unlikely!
Besides, even if there was one, this kind of thing was HR's business. How would Frederick possibly know about it?
Rebecca's words hadn't left her mouth yet.
A fork was pressed into her hand.
On the tray pushed in front of her was bread, fried eggs, and steaming hot milk.
"Eat..."
Frederick ruffled Rebecca's hair, washed his hands, and grabbed his phone. "Let me ask around."
As he spoke, the call connected.
Ethan's voice came through from the other end. "So early—what can I do for you, Mr. Windsor?"
"You mentioned last time that Melissa's firm is looking for document translators?"
"Yeah... but it's hard to find anyone! They're all materials from her foreign clients, so they need someone trustworthy and professionally qualified. Plus, it's all piecemeal work. Top foreign language graduates go straight to big companies—who'd take this kind of gig? Every time there's a case like this, Melissa has to look at it herself, and I end up being her assistant for a few days. Why do you have someone suitable?"
"Becca's classmate. Give me the contact info, and I'll have her come for an interview. You guys can work out the details yourselves."
"Someone Becca's introducing? Then there's definitely no problem! Let me thank you in advance! If it really works out, Melissa and I will treat you two to dinner! I'll send it to you!"
The excitement was obvious in his voice, as if Frederick wasn't asking him for a favor but doing him one instead.
A few seconds after hanging up, Facebook dinged. Ethan had sent over a photo of Melissa's business card.
Frederick forwarded it to Rebecca and affectionately pinched her earlobe. "Have Lucy call and contact Melissa. What exactly needs to be done, how much it pays—let them work it out themselves!"
Rebecca knew that with Frederick handling it, it would be solved in minutes, but she'd been prepared to be at his mercy.
But right now, Frederick hadn't mentioned a single condition and had efficiently taken care of everything.
What an unexpected bonus!
Taking small sips of her hot milk, Rebecca secretly breathed a sigh of relief: Frederick was actually pretty easy to talk to!
A smile had just begun to form on her lips.
Then Frederick leaned over. "Becca, didn't you say you were going to ask me for a favor? I helped you get it done without you even having to ask, so... how are you planning to thank me?"
Word by word, Frederick spoke slowly.
His eyes held a smile, as if certain she wouldn't just brush it off with a simple thank you.
Rebecca blinked. "How do you want me to thank you?"
Raising his hand to wipe the milk from Rebecca's lips, Frederick thought for a moment before speaking. "While learning to say no is good, always saying no isn't so good either, don't you think?"
"Becca..."
Frederick leaned close to Rebecca's ear. "Change your 'no' to 'yes'—consider that your thank you gift!"
With that, Frederick picked up a glass of milk and leisurely headed toward Alex.
After a brief moment of confusion, the meaning dawned on her, and Rebecca's expression froze.
How could he be so bad!
Rebecca's face suddenly burned hot.
