Chapter 113 A Man Who Says One Thing and Means Another
There's delicious food, fun things to do, and the company of a good friend - Rebecca is as happy as a mouse that's fallen into a grain bin.
When dinnertime came around, and Frederick sent someone over with a message saying there were a lot of people on his side, and that Rebecca didn't have to go if she didn't want to, Rebecca became even happier!
"Nothing beats a good friend!"
Stretching comfortably, Rebecca linked arms with Isabella, and the two of them headed to the media room with snacks in hand.
After finishing a movie, they returned to their room just in time for candlelit hot spring mode.
Changed into a pretty swimsuit, Rebecca wrapped herself in a towel and shivered as she slid open the glass door to enter the hot spring.
As the warmth enveloped her, she let out a long, comfortable sigh. Rebecca untied her towel and tossed it aside.
When she turned back around, she was met with Isabella's mischievous smile.
Following her gaze to look behind herself, Rebecca saw nothing but dark rocks.
Rebecca looked puzzled. "What's wrong?"
Isabella just smiled without saying anything.
Rebecca playfully splashed water at her in mock anger.
Then she saw Isabella pointing at her neck.
Unable to see by looking down, Rebecca picked up her phone and opened the camera. One glance and her cheeks flushed red.
In the hollow of her neck toward the back, there was a dark red-purple hickey.
She knew it must have been Frederick, but Rebecca couldn't for the life of her remember when this mark had been left.
Or could it be that while she was asleep, he had his way with her?
Thinking about how she'd dressed last night, and how he'd seriously talked to her about mutual affection...
But then the next moment, he'd left a hickey on her?
Rebecca slapped the water in frustration: What a two-faced man!
Thinking of something, Rebecca moved closer to Isabella and asked in a tiny voice, "Izzy, the first time... does it hurt?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, their eyes met.
Rebecca immediately realized she'd asked the wrong person.
People in their circle all said Isabella had a messy private life.
But whether Isabella's life was messy or not, she knew better than anyone.
In Isabella's life, cars took up ninety percent, and the remaining ten percent was all given to her.
Moving faster than she could think, Rebecca threw her arms around Isabella. "I'm sorry, please forgive my thoughtless words, I just had a brain fart, I..."
"Okay!"
Isabella looked amused. "All those years of reading those little comics were wasted on you."
Her eyes held a teasing yet open smile. Patting Rebecca's arm to signal her to let go, Isabella smiled and said, "It will definitely hurt. But it definitely won't hurt the whole time. As for how long it hurts and how much, you'll know when you try it yourself."
Rebecca let out a low breath.
Compared to whether the first time would hurt, she cared more about whether Izzy was upset.
As long as she wasn't.
When handing Isabella a wine glass, Rebecca clinked glasses with her. "To make amends!"
It was a premium wine air-shipped from a foreign winery. Isabella hadn't even finished savoring one sip when she saw Rebecca down three glasses in a row.
She couldn't even stop her.
Isabella shook her head helplessly.
Then she thought back to when they first met - it was also because Rebecca was being forced to drink, and when someone was about to take advantage of her, she'd stepped in to stop it. They'd become friends after that.
Thinking about it this way, after all these years, she and Rebecca seemed to have never changed.
How wonderful!
Isabella thought of it, and so did Rebecca.
Rebecca smiled with her eyes crinkling. "Izzy, thank you for always being here!"
"Yeah, thank you too!"
Above their heads were the twinkling stars in the night sky.
In their ears were memories, some forgotten, some vivid.
Whether it was the warm hot spring that had softened her bones, or the wine that was too fragrant...
When Frederick's handsome face appeared before her eyes, Rebecca smiled and reached out her hand. "Honey, hug..."
