Chapter 108 It's Not Excessive to Charge Some Interest, Right
Rebecca woke up feeling completely refreshed.
This past week, even though she acted like she didn't care, once the dorm lights went off, her mind was flooded with all those comments she'd seen in the posts.
The speculative and abusive remarks were like bullet comments floating across the screen when watching a variety show, layer upon layer overflowing, each one making her angry.
Some people even demanded that she get out of Empire University.
Every night when she finally managed to fall asleep, even in her dreams, she was arguing with those people, telling them she hadn't done such things.
Struggling awake from her nightmares, Rebecca couldn't fall back asleep and would lie awake with her eyes open until dawn.
But last night, Rebecca slept exceptionally well.
The curtains were drawn, so she couldn't tell if it was light out yet or not.
The embrace around her was still warm.
Rebecca lifted her head to look and saw that Frederick was still asleep. She held her breath and didn't dare move a muscle.
The dark room gradually brightened. When Rebecca came back to her senses, she realized Frederick had woken up at some point.
By the floor-to-ceiling window, the curtains silently slid open, revealing bright daylight outside.
"Frederick, good morning!"
After a night's sleep, Frederick's chin had sprouted a fine layer of stubble, making his already stern face look especially intense.
As if not fully awake, his eyes looked a bit hazy.
Rebecca said good morning and was about to get up when the arm around her waist tightened slightly.
Her whole body fell back into his embrace.
"Frederick..."
"Becca!"
With a startled gasp, before Rebecca's call could leave her lips, the man's face suddenly loomed large.
She was below.
He was above.
Their bodies pressed tightly together, their lips and noses so close that if she lifted her head just a bit, she could brush against his nose and touch his lips.
Looking up again, she saw that Frederick's sleepy eyes from moments ago were now completely clear. "Did you forget something?"
Rebecca looked completely confused. "What?"
Seeing Rebecca's innocent expression, Frederick ground his teeth in frustration.
He thought about her countless times every day.
In the morning, he wondered if she overslept, if she was late for class.
At noon, he wondered if she had eaten properly.
In the evening, he wondered what she was doing, if she thought of him when she wasn't busy with coursework.
But her?
Even when he took the initiative to say he missed her, she said she was too busy and didn't have time to miss him.
"Usually, you're too busy with coursework to miss me. Now you're on break, so you should have time, right? Mrs. Windsor!"
Those last three words somehow carried a tone of gritted teeth.
Rebecca immediately felt guilty.
"I, I..." I did think of you, really!
However, he didn't give her a chance to explain at all.
Rebecca had barely opened her mouth when Frederick's kiss came down.
A kiss with a punishing edge, especially fierce.
For a moment, Rebecca felt like Frederick wanted to swallow her whole.
Completely pinned down by him, unable to move, the air in her chest growing thinner and thinner, Rebecca could only passively cling to his shoulders and endure it.
And he still wouldn't let her go.
"Becca, you don't miss me, but I miss you so much, so very much..."
He bit her neck, and Rebecca flinched from the pain.
Frederick took the opportunity to take her earlobe in his mouth. "Collecting a little interest isn't too much, is it?"
All the blood in her body rushed to her head in that instant, and Rebecca's face burned like fire.
Electric currents seemed to trickle through her bloodstream to the deepest parts of her body.
So embarrassed she was almost in tears, Rebecca kept her head down, refusing to look at him, only pushing against him with her hands. "You're heavy..."
The next moment, her whole body froze.
