Chapter 27 Face your fears

The sky had become gloomy, and Leon took me to a balcony of the castle. He made me stand next to the guardrail of the balcony, with Leon standing less than five feet away from me.

“Third lesson: facing your fear!” Leon’s tone became stern. He pointed behind me and said, “Jump!”

“What?” I was shocked and asked, “Are you serious? It’s at least 100 feet from the ground. If I jump, I’ll die!”

“I said, jump!” Leon used an alpha tone on me.

I backed away in fear, and the guardrail reached my waist. Leon approached me step by step. His face was expressionless, and his eyes were cold.

“No, don’t push me! Please don’t!”

However, my prayers had no effect on Leon, and there was no pity or sympathy in his eyes. I opened my eyes wide and looked at the man who had come face to face with me. He gave me a cruel smile.

Suddenly, he reached out his hands and pushed me hard. I was shocked, and my body was falling rapidly. Darkness surrounded me, and I felt desperate. I thought I was going to die.

However, my inner fear only lasted for a few seconds. My feet instinctively stepped on the ground, and I fell directly to the ground due to the unstable center of gravity. But I wasn’t dead, and my leg wasn’t broken. It was like bungee jumping, where all the fear disappears once it’s over.

It was amazing that I could fall from the sky unscathed. Thank God! Thank you for the miracle!

I heard Shirley’s mocking voice.

“Werewolves have infinite power far beyond your imagination!” Shirley said.

“Okay, you’re right,” I told Shirley, not wanting to argue with her anymore.

When I looked up, I saw Leon leaning over the guardrail and looking at me. He held the guardrail with one hand, and then his whole body fell down in a beautiful parabola. His movements were clean and neat, making him look really handsome.

Leon’s feet landed smoothly on the ground beside me, and he looked at me with triumphant eyes.

“How do you feel?” Leon asked.

“You almost killed me just now!” I glared at him, expressing my anger at his behavior.

“The fact is that you’re not dead. And you can stand here and complain to me!” Leon tried to reach out and hug me, but I shook his hand away.

“I hope there will be similar training next time. You need to tell me in advance!” I took a wary step back, keeping my distance from Leon because I wasn’t sure what dangerous move he would make next.

“If I tell you in advance, this lesson will be meaningless!” Leon shrugged and asked me in a provocative tone, “Are you afraid?”

“I’m not afraid!” I refuted him.

“So, do you dare to dance again?” Leon continued to ask defiantly.

“I can dance ten more times!” I looked up and answered him stubbornly.

Damn it, I knew he was deliberately baiting me. But I just wanted to prove that I could be a qualified werewolf, and I didn’t want Leon to underestimate me.

Based on my experience of jumping off the building just now, I wasn’t as afraid as I was before when I tried it again. But when I stood on the guardrail, my eyes couldn’t help but look down. I hesitated. I even wondered if I should jump with my eyes closed.

“Don’t be afraid, open your eyes and jump bravely!” Leon encouraged me.

I took a deep breath and bent my knees before jumping down. This time, even before my feet touched the ground, my heart was still a little scared. But once I stood on the ground steadily, those fears disappeared.

I did it! I’m finally not afraid anymore!

“Very good!” Leon smiled and praised me. “You have been able to overcome your inner fears! You learn quickly!”

“Maybe you should let me try jumping off the top floor!” I proudly said. “This height is too easy for me now!”

“That’s not what you said just now!” Leon teased me on purpose. “You said I was going to kill you!”

“Well, it’s my fault!” I compromised.

Well, I got a bit carried away. When I learned that he was only trying to train me, my inner complaint against him ended.

I have to say that my ability has improved a lot under his training. If he had told me about the training beforehand, I probably would not even have had the courage to jump. Under his guidance, I managed to overcome my inner fears.

I should have been much happier if he had been more gentle with me.

“Don’t be fooled by your current achievements, and don’t be satisfied with the status quo!” Leon’s tone of voice was exactly like that of my high school math teacher. They always told big stories in class.

“Don’t think that you can challenge the height of the top floor by jumping from here. If you really jump from the top floor, maybe you won’t die, but you will definitely break your leg!” Leon said seriously. “Although werewolves are supernatural creatures, they are not gods. They are not invincible!”

“So, what are we going to learn next, dear teacher?” I was still immersed in the joy of victory, and what he just said was full of provocation.

Leon squinted at me for a few seconds, and I saw his Adam’s apple slide down slowly. The right corner of his mouth rose slightly, and he said to me in a low and magnetic voice, “Take off your clothes, and now I will give you a reward!”

What did he say last year? Is he going to pay me?

I drew a deep breath. It was evident that he had made his meaning clear. Right here? I glanced uneasily about me.

Oh! I cannot imagine what he will do to me next here. It must be exciting!

I couldn't wait.
