Chapter 190 Farce Turns into Crisis

Chapter 190 Farce Turns into Crisis

I laughed.

These bad and stupid people were actually so in sync!

They even took similar routes to sneak into the entertainment city.

Through the monitors, I watched them curse Lucas and me with resentment, while eagerly imagining the rewards their plan would bring.

"It's all that bitch Isabella's fault. Lucas hates the family because she must have turned him against us!"

"Exactly, she looks like she's good at manipulating people!"

"The drug I gave Bayle can knock someone out for eight hours. While Isabella's still unconscious, we'll take her away. Then won't we be able to control Lucas?"

"Donald is such a playboy. Who would've thought he'd produce someone as devoted as Lucas? What a joke."

I watched the monitors with a smile, as if the person they were talking about wasn't me at all.

The visitors were Tessa, Donald's two mistresses and their children, plus several relatives with the Valeri surname who were both strangers and familiar to Lucas.

Donald didn't come, which was disappointing. He was probably stuck in bed, recovering in the hospital with Holden, Grace, and David.

The series of reports against the hotel was done by the Gambino family, the supplier breach was related to Rex, and the investigation team's deliberate harassment seemed connected to the Valeri family.

I was too lazy to play the same trick again, so I simply had Bayle and those Gambino family members tied up and hung upside down from the ceiling.

With the lights off in the private room, nothing was visible. Tessa's group was more cautious than the Gambino family people, carefully feeling their way forward.

Among Donald's mistresses, the older one named Liliana bumped into one of the hanging people. She felt around curiously, then quickly pulled her hand back. "What is that!"

Her son Cruz quickly signaled her to be quiet. "Mom, keep your voice down!"

"No, Cruz, there's something here! Don't you feel it?" As soon as she finished speaking, the younger mistress named Qiana screamed and fell down weakly. "I touched something weird!"

"There's nothing there, you two stop causing trouble!" An older middle-aged man scolded them sternly. Not far in front of him was Bayle. Adrian mischievously gave Bayle a gentle push. Bayle's body swung and hit the middle-aged man, who also screamed in fright.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Isabella?" Tessa looked sharply toward me in the darkness.

I snapped my fingers, and Cole turned on the lights. When the Valeri family members saw the bizarre scene of nine people hanging upside down, they screamed repeatedly.

Tessa was the first to calm down. She swallowed and walked toward me. "Isabella, I'm so glad you're okay. We, we came to rescue you!"

"Rescue me?" I looked at her in surprise. Tessa was really clever.

"That's right. We heard these Gambino family bastards wanted to hurt you, so we came specially to save you." Tessa took a deep breath, trying to make her expression look more sincere. "Even though Lucas resents us, we still consider him family. You're important to Lucas, so of course we have to protect you."

Qiana's daughter Fable looked at Tessa in shock. "You're lying." Before she could finish, Qiana stomped hard on her foot, warning her with her eyes to shut up.

The others also came to their senses and quickly nodded in agreement, while the hanging Gambino family members rolled their eyes in anger. If their mouths weren't taped shut, they would definitely curse the Valeri family for being shameless!

I hadn't expected this development. I clapped and laughed, having Adrian replay the surveillance footage—showing them mocking me.

Tessa's face changed dramatically. She immediately turned to run, but how could a weak woman fight against powerful Soldatos?

The moment she turned, a Soldato pounced on her and pinned her to the ground.

Moments later, these Valeri family members were also hanging from the ceiling.

"Want to ruin my reputation?" I asked with a smile while admiring their miserable state.

"Want to get dirt on me?"

"And threaten me and Lucas?"

I opened my phone camera and took over a dozen photos, clicking my tongue twice. "No ability and no luck—who gave you the nerve to come after me?"

There was a gentle knock on the door.

A waiter in the entertainment city uniform pushed a food cart in. "Good morning, Demetrius asked me to bring you breakfast."

I nodded, about to let him in, when I noticed the juice on the cart was mango juice.

I'm allergic to mangoes. If Lucas had told Demetrius to take care of me, there shouldn't be such an oversight.

The thought flashed through my mind, and I took another look at the waiter.

He looked ordinary, had a low-key demeanor, and kept his head down like an honest person who didn't dare look around.

But being too ordinary was itself a flaw.

In this entertainment city, whether male or female waiters, all were quite attractive.

"You, lift your head," I said.

The waiter stopped. Hestia happened to walk over, and hearing my words, said with a stiff and awkward expression, "Ms. Sorelli, you're not interested in our waiter, are you?"

I ignored Hestia, staring at the waiter, and repeated, "Lift your head and look at me!"

The waiter suddenly grabbed the juice from the cart and threw it at me, then pulled out a gun. His finger had just touched the trigger when Cole shot him in the heart.

Splattered blood landed on Hestia's face. She froze for a second, then immediately fired two more shots into the waiter. "This is an assassin who snuck in!"

Protected by Adrian, I wasn't hurt at all. Hearing this, I looked at Hestia and asked with a half-smile, "Did you just think I was going to betray Lucas?"

Hestia laughed awkwardly. "Where did this assassin come from?"

As she spoke, she roughly searched the waiter's body, but found no useful information.

"There are probably many eyes watching the entertainment city right now." I thought for a moment and decided to change my previous plan, having several alert Soldati take the Valeri family members and my body double out of the entertainment city, pretending I had been kidnapped by them.

The moment the actors left the entertainment city, gunshots, door-crashing sounds, and shattering glass exploded simultaneously.

"Assassins! Watch out!" Hestia shouted nervously.

Dawn was just breaking on the horizon, thin mist obscuring distant buildings.

Starstream City was still sleeping when the entertainment city's tranquility was suddenly shattered.

Assassins appeared like a tide—at least fifty or sixty people.

Observing their coordination and methods, you could tell they came from different organizations, taking orders from different employers.

So many people wanted to kill me?

Adrian and Cole protected me as we fled. The decorative lights in the corridor shattered from the air pressure, glass shards flying and leaving tiny scratches on my clothes.

Bullets whizzed past, making my eardrums ache.

The air filled with the smell of blood, gunpowder, and intense killing intent.

All escape routes were blocked. Gunshots, fighting sounds, and muffled groans echoed around us.

The closer the danger came, the colder and sharper my gaze became.
