Chapter 15 Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Chapter 15
Hearing what she just said there was a pause.
Some of the women looked around, hesitant, unsure of what to do or whether they should trust her.
But a few others mothers, understood. They moved without a word and stepped forward. Wrapping their arms around each other, they stood around the pregnant woman, forming a gentle but respectful human barrier, giving Megan and the woman a bit of dignity in such a moment.
Some other women still stood back, staring, whispering among themselves. But Megan didn't have time for them.
At that moment, Megan folded the warm towel neatly and gently pressed it against the woman's stomach. Her hands were steady. She moved with precision, placing pressure where needed to relax the body and slow down the internal spasms.
The woman’s breathing was shallow, almost gone.
Megan placed her hand just above the towel, felt the movement of the baby, and carefully adjusted the position of the towel again. With her other hand, she reached for the water.
She tried lifting the woman’s head slightly, but her body was limp. Megan paused, then gently shifted her arms underneath the woman’s shoulders, supporting her carefully without putting pressure on the stomach.
With strength and care, Megan slowly tilted the woman’s upper body, keeping her head steady, allowing just enough space for the water to pass through.
“Come on,” she whispered softly, her lips close to the woman’s ear. “Just a little. You have to help me.”
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then a flicker.
The woman's lips twitched.
Then slowly, like a dried flower meeting rain, her mouth parted, and her lips moved again.
Again Megan gently brought the bottle close, and this time, with her head propped and her stomach warm, the woman began sipping the water gradually.
Seeing what just happened, everyone froze in shock. Mouths dropped open, and murmurs rippled through the restaurant like waves. No one expected the pregnant lady to actually respond, let alone drink water and not just sip it, but drink the entire bottle and ask for more.
Their eyes shifted from the woman now leaning weakly against the wall to Megan, who stood with calm authority like nothing extraordinary had just happened. She had turned chaos into calm.
At that moment, Megan gently looked at the women who were shielding the lady and said softly, “You can give her space now. Thank you for helping.”
The women stepped back, still stunned, their eyes wide as they looked at the recovering lady, now slowly blinking, her face returning to color.
The pregnant woman had finished the first bottle completely. She held the empty bottle in her hand and with a faint voice said, “Please… can I get another?”
Immediately, without waiting for instruction, the waiter dashed off and came back with another bottle. She took it with both hands and drank about half, then slowly set it down.
A few of the people nearby helped her sit up carefully, making sure not to put pressure on her belly. The lady gave a faint nod of thanks, her breathing more even now, her hands resting protectively on her bump.
At that moment, Megan stood to her full height, brushing her palms together lightly. She looked down at the woman and then at the crowd watching silently.
“She’s okay now,” Megan said. Her voice was calm but firm, clear enough for everyone to hear. “But you need to take good care of yourself,” she added, turning back to the woman with a serious yet gentle tone. “You passed out from severe dehydration. That’s what nearly ended your life and your baby’s.”
Upon hearing what Megan just said, a wave of gasps and low exclamations swept through the onlookers, they couldn't believe it was Just dehydration and Dr.kai was saying something about Surgery.

Upon hearing what Megan just said, that was when the woman’s husband immediately stood up from where he had been crouching. His eyes were red, his face full of relief, and his hands shook a little as he bowed his head deeply to Megan.

“I’m very, very grateful,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “I’m truly grateful for what you just did. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. I really appreciate you for stepping in. If not for you…” His voice broke for a moment, and he quickly swallowed hard. “I don’t know what would have happened to my wife and my child.”

At that moment, the pregnant woman was also getting herself together properly now. Her breathing had become steadier, and the strength that had left her body little by little was beginning to return. With some support, she was even able to stand up now, though she still looked weak.

She turned to Megan with grateful eyes, her hand resting protectively on her stomach.

“Thank you so much,” she said softly, her voice still faint but full of sincerity. “I’m really, really grateful. I promise I will not be careless again.”

Megan gave a small nod, her face calm.

“Well, that is what you need to do,” she said. “You need to stay fully hydrated. You are not alone in your body now. You’re carrying someone inside of you, so you have to be careful. Don’t be careless again.”

Immediately, the woman nodded her head again and again, taking every word seriously.

“I understand,” she said quickly. “I really understand.”
