Epilogue 2

**Athena's POV**

They say dreams are like windows to one person's soul. Or in some cases a dream can be like a window to another person’s future or past.

And while it’s been almost a year since my last big dream. The one in which led to the deaths of both Lily and Brian I can’t help but feel like Mother Moon was trying to communicate with me yet again but in a different way.

For it wasn’t uncommon for her to pay me unsuspected visits like she would occasionally do from time to time, because other times she would spend them visiting with Artemis while I was occupied with our mates or children, hence why Artemis was so good at knowing each future status of our children or close to it as she had yet to tell me about Adrian or Nathan which made me wonder if even the Moon Goddess herself didn’t know either.

So here I am, currently asleep within my big warm bed surrounded by those I love when suddenly a state of restlessness begins to take over and I manage to find myself surrounded by darkness. A familiar darkness.

“Hello?” I call out to the abyss that currently surrounds me.

“Artemis? Mother Moon?”

Scanning my surrounding area, I attempt to find Artemis, hoping that she was close by like she normally was in times like this, yet like last time, she wasn’t, which makes me rather uneasy by what’s about to happen. Voices now filling the vast void all around me.

“You stupid, stupid girl” yells a voice. A male’s voice.

“Did you honestly believe that you’d be safe? Safe from the eyes of the council? You silly girl. The council knows and sees all. And like always, they will always keep tabs over you at all times” sneers another voice. This time female.

A sudden chill now running through my body as I continue to stand there and listen to the voices. Voices that were directly related to me in some shape or form. Something that I’ve managed to keep hidden, even from me, until now. Voices that instantly become clearer the long I listen.

“But-But Aunty. Mommy says the Council is evil and cruel. That they hurt wolves like us” whimpers the voice of a little girl. My eyes instantly widening as I recognize the voice before me.

That-That’s me. From when I was just a little girl. I had just gone to live with my Aunt and Uncle after my pack had been physically destroyed. They were talking about me, like they always did, I muse, now trying to focus once again.

“And your dear old mother was a stupid bitch. Letting herself become cursed. To become barren for all eternity until she magically had you. Unbelievable. And now, the Council seeks an audience with you and you alone, please how pathetic” scoffs the woman who I now know to be Aunt Leah.

“Why?” asks the child, not understanding why the Council would want to see her of all people when didn’t even have her wolf yet.

“Did you not hear me? They want an audience with you, that’s all I know” snaps Leah to her niece.

“Ignore her. The Council is here anyways. Elder Tobias is here and wishes to speak with the girl alone” grunts the male, the voice clearly belonging to that of my Uncle. Beta Collin which causes me to shiver, wondering if they both knew the real reason behind Tobias’s visit.

Releasing a huff, the sound of feet shuffling within the room is all that can be heard until the sound of another male’s voice reaches my ears interrupting my thoughts.

“Is this the girl?” asks another.

“Yes, Elder Tobias.”

“Perfect. You may leave us. I’d like to be alone with her. I’ll call for you if I should need any assistance.”

“Of course”

Not liking the way he said alone, I’m quick to try and wake myself up. Not wanting to know where this was going. Something telling me I would not like it. Having spent most of my life in a home who did want nor love me and always abused me I did not want to know what else had been set upon during that time.

“Okay now, I want to wake up please! Artemis! Are you here? Answer me!” I cry out into the void, hoping someone would eventually hear me only for Tobias to speak once again, drawing my attention back to the “Dream” I was having.

“Now then, my dear sweet Athena. How old are you?”

“T-Ten”

“And have you met your wolf yet?”

“No.. Not yet. Mother always said I wouldn’t meet her until I was 14. Being the daughter of an Alpha I get that privilege of having her before I turn 16.”

“Good. This makes things a lot more easier then”

Then as if I automatically know what’s about to happen I instantly hear the sound of crying and screaming. The sound of a young girl who was frightened while an unknown male moves to take full advantage of her and her lack of having a wolf.

“NO! PLEASE! STOP IT! MOMMY! DADDY!” cries the girl, my heart twisting in pain, thankful that I couldn’t see the images of this dream.

“QUIET! You hear by belong to the Council. You will serve us and only us. You and your kind will always belong to us. Now be the good little girl that you are and submit. Submit to me and only me” growls the voice of Tobias, the sound shuffling hitting me from all angels followed by grunts and whimpers.

Oh god, please… Please tell me he didn’t… Please tell me he didn’t force himself on me at the age of 10 years old. I thought I was still pure then. I thought only my Uncle and Cousin had touched and used me for their sick personal fun, now I’m learning that it might even be Tobias too.

Feeling my body begin to shake, I try not to think, not wanting to believe that this dream could be true, that Tobias could possibly do that to a 10 year old little girl, the sounds getting louder and louder as they continue onward.

“Fuck… you feel amazing little pet. I can’t wait until I can have you all to myself. But for now, this will have to do.”

Suddenly as if disgusted with myself I try to block out the sounds. Sounds made by a person who was meant to be a Council member, an Elder. A man whose presence always left me unnerved even when he attended my Luna Ceremony and Wedding.

The way he always watched me with those knowing eyes.

The thought of him doing unspeakable things to me as a child only confirms to me why I couldn’t remember most of adolescent life. I was traumatized by it.

By Tobias.

Gasping for air, I instantly jolt wide awake, no longer in my land of sleep or land of the nightmares as I now put it, as I move to wrap myself up in a hug, unaware that my body was glowing under the soft light of the moon even as my mates slept peacefully beside me. A faint voice calling to me through the darkness.

“It’s time sweet child. It’s time for you to rise as the white wolf that you are. To unite all wolves and stop the endless circle of war.”

“Moon Goddess?” I whisper softly, still ignoring the fact that I was glowing a pale silver.

“Yes dear Athena. The seal that was placed on you long ago to contain your childhood is finally breaking. And while I had hoped that they would never resurface, they are. They are gradually returning to you which means that the Council is up to their old tricks again.”

“Old Tricks?”

“By attempting to hunt down any and all white wolves and destroy them. You and Saige are the last of our kind, and while I wish this wasn’t the case, it’s time for you to end this. To put a stop to the Council and bring peace.”

“S-Saige?” I mutter, shocked to know that Saige would also be white.

“Yes. But that’s not all my dear child. Adrian’s parents are also alive and soon they’ll come looking for him. They want to take him from you. You must not let that happen. Adrian is special and was meant for you to find him, he belongs with you, it was how I planned for it.”

No, I whisper, my hands now forming into fists. I won’t let this happen. They can’t have Adrian, he’s mine. They abandoned him. And because of that they no longer have rights to him.

Now fueled by a deeper meaning, a deeper passion, I move to shove all my past drama to the side for now and begin setting my sights on something else.

My Family. For no one, and I meant no one, would ever, ever separate me from my children ever again. Even if it was the last thing on earth I would continue to stand firm and fight to protect what was mine. Now and forever.

*Author’s Note: Finally, and without a doubt I can officially say that Our Luna, Our Mate has finally come to an end. Unfortunately this chapter does end the book 100% but do not fear, this chapter paves way for where Book 2 will eventually pick up in Our Luna, Our Mate: Rise of the White Wolf where Athena must now overcome all her past trauma and put an end to the Council that wishes to destroy her and her kind. We will also see Adrian’s parents in that book as well but do not worry Adrian isn’t going anywhere, not if our Luna has anything to say on the matter. But for now, I do hope everyone enjoyed this book, as this book was truly a journey to write. Coming up next shall be a quick Author’s Note from me just explaining where things are going and where my mind is currently at along with a couple of Bonus chapters to help finish off the year with a bang in which these chapters will be completely miscellaneous and just little random side pieces that couldn’t be placed within the story at the time of writing but hope you find enjoyable nonetheless. Until I write again, bye.*
