Chapter 155
**Alex's POV**
Upon stepping out onto the battlefield the first thing Elstan and I witness alongside Rick is the utter chaos that was happening all around us.
Warriors from the Mystic Shadow Pack, Blood Rose Pack, Silver Moon Pack, Midnight Pack, Nightshade Pack, Snow Moon Pack and of course the Dark Moon Pack were all battling it out amongst the wolves currently present.
The Witches that were present all too scared to physically fight while Keira currently tries to talk to them, to get them to leave so as not to deal with the blood shed that was currently going on all around them
‘We might actually win this,’ replies Elstan, our claws digging into the flesh of a Rogue as they attempt to attack us from the side.
‘Let’s hope you're right buddy. Because as much as I would like to avoid more unnecessary bloodshed, these Rogues brought it upon themselves when they chose to follow Lily and her little group of misfits.’
Scanning the field after handling the Rogue, I attempt to search for my niece. The need to know if she was okay rising as I had yet to see her anywhere else upon the field and didn’t want to assume the worst.
‘Relax. She’s here. I can sense her’ whispers Elstan, only for us to hear a loud scream. The scream drawing our attention towards the center of the battlefield only for us to spot a very naked body of Athena who looked like she was hiding beneath Ares. Her focus on Eros who was now laying on the ground bleeding out, Brian now standing over him as he did. A silver stake now high above his head as another stood out against Eros’s side.
‘NO!’ I roar to Elstan, the both of us moving to release a powerful howl. Rick joining alongside me as he too witnesses Eros being attacked by Brian.
‘That pup and his little group of friends shall pay for this. I thought that by sparing his life and demoting him he would see things more clearly but obviously it did nothing to help set him straight. He’s still causing harm to my family. Now he shall pay with his blood’ I growl, no longer playing Mr. Nice Wolf.
Howling once again, I manage to finally scare Brian. Fear now evident along his face as he witnesses Elstan’s large wolf frame. Our body similar to that of a wolf’s except we were much larger and we stood on 2 legs instead of 4 legs. Having received my Lycan Gene from our mother as she was the Lycan Queen at the time when she met our father, I was the lucky one of the group to inherit her Lycan DNA while Ryder and Rick inherited our father’s even though they too carried mother’s gene as well.
Stalking my prey, I move to advance over to him slowly, Rick close behind me as Brian slowly moves to back away. His hand dropping the silver stake within his hand as he instantly moves to run away. Shane and David both following his lead as the three of them run into the forest.
Smirking at the idea of a good chase, Elstan and I along with Rick and Arden move to give in. The need for vengeance rising, the need to make them pay for everything that they’ve done to my niece during her stay with the Moon Walker Pack rising once again.
‘This shall be fun’ purrs Elstan, almost too excited for this game of cat and mouse.
‘Easy now, don’t get too excited. We haven’t even caught them yet’ I move to say back to him, noticing the way Brian and his friends part in opposite directions once making it into the forest. A perfect opportunity for us as it gave us less eyes to witness their demise as we took pleasure in killing them.
Glancing over towards Rick, Rick moves to give us a knowing look. Arden clearly on board with whatever it was that we decided on as far as torture went. Perfect. With that in mind, we move to set out on our little game of cat and mouse.

**Brian's POV**
Fuck… Fuck… I can’t believe how stupid I was. Instead of trying to finish the job that I originally set out to do which was to kill Eros right in front of Athena, I didn’t take into the account that her stupid Uncles would be there too.
‘Forget stupid, you're an absolute idiot. Not only are you completely incompetent, you’ve completely put us on the radar for the Lycan King himself. I mean have you seen him? He’s massive. No way in hell will we walk away unharmed by him’ replies Dius, already seeing our plan falling to pieces.
‘Like you could do better’ I growl back at him in annoyance, my legs carrying us into the forest. Shane and David each separating from me in hopes of escaping with their lives.
‘Highly doubtful’
Annoyed with Dius and his total lack of concern, I move to ignore him. A part of me knowing that he would be of no use to me now, considering my massive fuck up. Angering the Lycan King was never the plan but it happened. Luckily though, I still had an ace up my sleeve. A dagger. A dagger that was not only silver but coated in poison as well. A dagger I should have used against Eros straight away for an instant kill but chose the spikes instead, the need to prolong his death far greater than instant.
Scanning the treeline in front of me, I move to hide behind the biggest tree I could find, remembering to keep my scent down wind just like my father had always taught me to when training me to become the next Beta. An element of surprise my father always said when training.
Spotting the biggest, thickest tree within the forest I move to hide behind it, making sure to mask my scent as I now sit there and wait, hoping to have the element of surprise like my father always mentioned. A piece of me knowing that the Lycan King was most likely toying with me just for good measure before deciding to end things. A scenario I was fully counting on as I sat there behind my big tree.

**Alex's POV**
When entering the forest, Rick and I quickly take pause. Both of us now scanning the area for our prey. Our eyes scanning everything within a 100 mile radius. Having given them the perfect head start. Hoping to make this an exciting game of cat and mouse before killing them for their crimes.
‘You take the left and I’ll take the right. Link me if you need anything’ I move to tell Rick through our family bond. A bond that every triplet and twin owned when born together. Unfortunately, our bond was never the same after Ryder. His death weakened our connection but not enough to cripple it.
‘Alright. Just please, be careful. Athena needs both of us alive, not just one of us’ was all Rick says before Arden moves off in the direction that I’ve suggested. My legs now leading me in the other direction.
Athena, my mind now wandering back to the battle and to how she looked when trying to save Eros. The way she tried to be brave as she attempted to use her powers to heal him. Powers that I knew she would some day learn to control even as time went on.
‘Our little munchkin’ murmurs Elstan, rather fond of Rick’s analogy of her. Athena, having always been small for a child has now grown into a fully grown woman who’s strong and caring just like her mother. Sighing, I wish Selene could have been there to see just how much her daughter had flourished into the woman she was today.
Humming in agreement, I can’t seem to think of any other name for her other than munchkin while Elstan and I continue our search amongst the vast sea of trees. Our huge body eventually walking past a tree big enough to block a person's body from view, unaware that we had just walked straight into a trap until suddenly it was too late.
A sharp searing pain now radiating all along my back as something cold and sharp plunges repeatedly into it, the object grazing my shoulder blade as we howl in pain. Elstan now thrashing at trying to reach behind us and to the person responsible for our pain only to be stabbed yet again this time closer to our spine.
“DIE” growls the voice we now recognize as Brian’s, having apparently hidden his scent down wind from us while leading us into a false sense of security that gave him the upper hand. Elstan moving to slam him back against a tree in order to shake him.
Brian now crying out in pain as his body continued to hit against the tree, eventually knocking him and whatever he was using against me to the ground. Using that moment of transgression, I quickly move to face him, spinning towards his direction as my hand moves to grab him by the throat, my teeth drawn as I move to speak directly to him.
“Never again will you threaten my family, never again will you be allowed to cause Athena any more unnecessary heart break or tears. From now on, you’ll be someone else’s memory”
Then, without further words, I move to thrust my claws into his chest, my hand wrapping around his heart as blood rises from his mouth, a smirk rising to greet me as he moves to speak once more.
“You may have killed me, your Majesty, but I can assure you, you will be dead soon too. Because that dagger that I used on you just now, wasn’t just made with silver, it was also laced in poison. You’ll die before the day ends.”
Growling at his words, I instantly move to rip out his heart before crushing it between my fingers, Brian’s body now a lifeless piece of garbage as I move to throw him away from me, my hands coming to rest against the base of the tree as the effects of the poison begin to take hold of me.
“Rosalyn, My love… I’m sorry… But this is where we part ways I’m afraid” I whisper, a piece of me knowing that I wouldn’t live long enough to make it back home and to her. My vision blurring as Elstan whines.
The darkness and poison quick to consume us as a faint howl echoes within the distance and the faint sound of running could be heard before finally I succumb to the darkness.
