Chapter 11 Chapter 11 The Diary's Truth
Angelina's POV
My expression turned cold as I spoke icily to Kai:
"Don't touch me. You're not worthy."
Just now when Kai nearly touched my shoulder, I'd only acted on reflex.
If this were my previous life, the moment I gripped the back of his neck, I would have already snapped it directly.
The reason I didn't take that final step was because I realized that now, I was just an ordinary female student.
A girl loved by her parents and protected by two brothers, not the Alpha King who killed without blinking from my past life.
I didn't want to lose this hard-won family affection.
No more wasting words.
I withdrew my hand from Kai's neck, grabbed Leo who looked frightened, and walked straight toward the Chinese restaurant.
Without looking back.
During this time, neither Kai nor Bella spoke again.
These people looked like they'd seen a ghost, unable to recover from their shock for a long time.
They could only watch helplessly as I left, ultimately unable to say a word.
I ordered Orange Chicken and Beijing Beef. Leo was still in shock.
"Holy shit, sis, where'd you learn those moves? You're almost as good as my buddy who's been learning martial arts since elementary school!" Leo asked, stunned.
Looking up, my flawless white face met Leo's gaze.
I showed a light smile and answered: "I learned it from self-defense videos on YouTube."
Of course I couldn't directly tell Leo that I was the Alpha of the world's strongest pack, and for some unknown reason had occupied his sister's body, which is why I'd suddenly become so capable.
If I actually confessed this to my second brother, he'd probably be scared into thinking I had mental problems, right?
"Huh?" Leo was initially stunned, but this carefree second brother truly believed without doubt:
"Hehe, looks like you've got my fighting talent, sis. Just follow some videos and you can immediately apply what you learned!"
We finished lunch in a relaxed atmosphere.
That afternoon Leo took me wandering around the mall until evening before heading home.
Perhaps because they'd already discussed how to handle Jayden and his gang of thugs. When I got home, I clearly felt that Grace, Nathan, and Ethan's tense emotions had calmed down.
The furniture that had been smashed up by Jayden's gang before we left had mostly been restored. Grace had cleaned up the house.
Only some vases, stools, and other furniture pieces were missing, probably broken beyond use, so Grace had already thrown them away.
"Aria, Leo, you're home?" Seeing us enter, Grace had just come out of the kitchen.
She quickly wiped her wet hands front and back on her apron, washing two big red apples for me and Leo. "Mom's started making dinner. You two have some apples to tide you over, we'll eat soon."
"Sounds good, Mom!" Leo responded.
I also took the apple, took a "crunch" bite, and headed upstairs.
The Sterling house was built twenty years ago. Twenty years ago, it was considered a very nice house in the area.
But after so many years, even the nicest house becomes outdated, so it looked old and tacky now.
The house was three stories high. My bedroom was on the second floor, facing the sun.
Opening the bedroom where the original owner had lived for over ten years, I walked inside.
Like most teenage girls, the original owner's bedroom was filled with cute stuffed animals, throw pillows, and such.
There was even a celebrity poster on the wall by the bed.
I walked to the desk opposite the bed, casually pulling open a drawer.
Sure enough, just as I'd expected.
A pink diary with a few anime stickers appeared before me.
This was the original owner's diary.
I took out the diary and opened it without hesitation.
The original owner didn't have a habit of writing daily entries, only occasionally writing down some girlish emotions.
I opened to the first page of the diary and saw a few lines of slightly messy handwriting:
'March 1st - Sunny. OMG he actually talked to me today!!! I'm literally dying rn 😭💕'
Without expression, I gently turned to the second page:
'April 5th - Cloudy. Kai asked me to help clean up the locker room after practice today (again). I wanted to say yes but got stuck in detention with Ms. Wilson for falling asleep in class.
'Emma said she saw him after and he looked annoyed. God, what if he never talks to me again?? 😢'
Flipping through several more pages:
'September 11th - Gloomy. Emma asked to borrow money again today. That's $30 this time. She's asked me like 5 times this month already.
'She hasn't paid me back any of the money from before either. I don't want to lend her more but I don't know how to ask for it back without seeming like a bitch. What should I do??'
In the diary, most entries were about the original owner's boring, uninteresting daily life.
But this was exactly what an ordinary girl at her most innocent age should worry about.
I flipped through several more pages, all filled with the original owner's most ordinary daily matters.
Until the last page, where the gloomy emotions caught my attention:
'September 15th - I want to die. What do I do? WHAT DO I DO?? Kai posted my letter on Instagram.
'He tagged like half the school. It's everywhere now - Instagram stories, Snapchat, TikTok. People are screenshotting it and making MEMES out of it. Everyone's laughing at me. I can't go back. I literally can't show my face at school anymore. Someone please help me... please...'
This was the last diary entry the original owner left.
Turning the page, everything after was blank.
I closed the diary, my eyes taking on a slight chill.
I'd originally thought that no matter how weak the original owner was, there had to be a limit.
Until I saw this diary.
My gaze involuntarily turned ice-cold to the extreme.
Just then, Grace's shout came from downstairs: "Aria, come down for dinner!"
Closing the diary, I put it back in its place and headed downstairs.
Perhaps once, the original owner had been bullied by everyone.
But now, the person controlling this body was me.
I'd killed countless people in my lifetime, the blood on my hands could flow into rivers.
Those who had once bullied the original owner—come at me with all you've got!
Those who deserve to die, I won't let a single one escape!
I stayed home for two days without incident.
Monday morning.
Before dawn, I jogged a lap around Central Park before heading home, grabbing my backpack and going to school.
Perfect timing.
I'd been jogging around the park every morning these past two days to train this body.
This body's strength was far too weak. Last time, just lifting a 160-pound guy had required so much effort.
In my previous life, even lifting a 200-pound barbell was a trivial matter I could easily complete with one hand.
Buying a McDonald's breakfast, I ate my Egg McMuffin and hash brown, walking through the school gates alongside many passing classmates.
At that moment, in the classroom.
The teacher hadn't arrived yet, morning reading hadn't started, and most of the early students were chatting with their friends.
I stepped through the classroom door.
The students in class all stared at me in surprise for a moment, seemingly amazed at how I'd suddenly become so beautiful today.
But they quickly looked away, not staring at me further.
"Ah ah, Aria, you're here!"
Just then, a girl rushed over from the front of the classroom.
The girl wore her hair in a high ponytail, looking full of energy, but her face was covered in acne and she wasn't particularly attractive.
After rushing over, she grabbed my wallet, preparing to open it, acting like a good friend.
"I thought you weren't coming to school today, especially since you jumped out the window last week... but thank God you came! Aria, did you bring money?
"We have to pay the lab fee today and I totally forgot to bring it. Can you lend me some? I swear I'll pay you back next week."
This girl was none other than the shameless Emma Rodriguez mentioned in the original owner's diary—the one who'd borrowed money from the original owner five times without paying it back!
Emma had never returned the money she'd borrowed before.
And this morning, she was asking to borrow money from me again!
