Chapter 375
Emily just smiled. "Zach, you look amazing too."
Zach was dressed in an extravagant gown today. The skirt bloomed like a flower, and lace trim delicately wrapped around the neckline and sleeves.
Even though Zach was a guy, he looked surprisingly elegant in the dress, exuding a unique, sophisticated beauty.
Emily noticed Armando.
He was talking to a girl.
The girl wasn't wearing a dress but was dressed in riding attire, looking spirited and confident.
Emily and Zach walked over to greet them.
"Hey, Armando."
Armando turned around, his eyes deepening when he saw Emily.
But his face remained expressionless.
He introduced Emily, "Emmy, this is my sister, Winter Gomez."
Emily knew Armando had a sister who had been living abroad.
When she met Winter today, she found her strikingly beautiful, with a hint of boldness in her demeanor.
Winter greeted Emily warmly, "Emmy, my boyfriend has mentioned you. Seeing you today, I must say, your beauty is even more impressive in person."
Emily was a bit surprised. "Boyfriend?"
Armando's expression darkened. "What boyfriend? You're too young to be dating."
Winter retorted, "I'm nineteen. I can make my own decisions."
She then turned to Emily with a bright smile, "My boyfriend will be here soon. Don't be too shocked when you meet him."
Armando's voice was cold, "If he dares to show up, I'll break his legs."
"Armando, if you break his legs, I'll never speak to you again."
Armando's face instantly turned grim.
Emily could tell he was genuinely angry.
But thinking about it from his perspective, anyone would be upset if their cherished sister was swept away at the age of nineteen.
Sensing the tension between the siblings, Emily quickly intervened, "Zach, didn't you have something to discuss with Armando?"
Zach caught on.
He knew Emily was trying to defuse the situation and give him an opportunity.
Zach, uncharacteristically shy, said, "Armando, I need to talk to you. Can we go somewhere private?"
Armando, not wanting to argue with Winter, took the excuse to leave. "Let's go to the balcony."
Armando and Zach headed to the balcony.
Winter clung to Emily's arm affectionately. "Emmy, you have to help me talk to Armando. He listens to you more than anyone else. You have no idea how much your words mean to him."
Emily had never thought she held such weight in Armando's heart.
But she knew Armando had always been good to her.
He helped her with everything.
Emily spoke, "Ms. Gomez."
"Just call me Winter."
Winter's name flashed through Emily's mind, bringing a strange sense of familiarity.
But Emily continued, "Winter, I'm a few years older than you. As your elder, I think Armando's concerns are valid. You're only nineteen, and it's easy to make impulsive decisions at your age. There are too many people with bad intentions in this world."
Winter suddenly said, "My boyfriend is here." Emily turned to look in Winter's direction.
She was stunned.
It was Preston.
Winter's boyfriend was Preston?
Preston, who was already nearby, had overheard their conversation.
"What are you talking about? Who has bad intentions?"
Winter laughed, "Emmy was telling me to be careful about dating, that there are too many people with bad intentions."
She then playfully raised an eyebrow at Preston, looking provocative.
Preston smiled warmly, "Emmy is right. Except for me, all other men are no good."
"You shameless thing. I'm going to tell Armando you said he's no good." Winter pretended to walk away.
Preston quickly grabbed her hand. "Don't. Aren't you afraid Armando will kill me?"
The two exchanged playful glances, clearly a couple in love.
Emily remembered Gerald mentioning that Preston had a girlfriend.
She couldn't help but smile.
Preston finally noticed Emily standing there.
"Emily." Preston was completely at ease.
Although Emily had accepted Milo and Azalea as her godparents, she wasn't very familiar with the Patterson family, except for Gerald.
But Preston was warm and friendly.
He made her feel comfortable.
Emily smiled. "Preston, I never thought I'd be calling someone much younger than me my sister-in-law."
Winter blushed a little.
Preston was delighted. "Winter is young. Please look after her."
Winter protested, "I'm strong. I don't need anyone to look after me."
"Alright, alright. You're the strongest, the best."
Emily watched them, feeling like they were two mice who had fallen into a vat of honey.
She quietly walked away, not wanting to be the third wheel.
Emily sat on a couch to rest and texted James about what had happened.
James sent back a surprised emoji.
Then he asked: [Anything else interesting?]
Not everything was interesting.
Meanwhile.
Zachary confessed to Armando.
"Armando, I've had a crush on you for a long time. Do I have a chance?"
Armando's face was expressionless. He didn't show any disgust or disdain.
He also didn't seem excited or shocked. He said coldly, "No chance."
"But you haven't dated anyone all these years. Why not give me a try?"
"I already like someone."
Zachary was taken aback. "Is it Shadow or someone else?"
Zachary had always known Armando would reject him.
But he was curious about Armando's thoughts.
He knew Armando wouldn't like men.
But he could only guess two people.
Armando's tone was icy, "That's none of your business."
With that, Armando walked away.
When Armando re-entered the hall, he saw Winter and Preston flirting.
Armando walked over, his face stern, his voice as cold as a knife, "Preston, I told you if you came, I'd break your legs."
Preston was a bit scared of Armando.
This man had an aura even colder than Cruz.
Preston quickly put on a smile, shamelessly saying, "Armando, Winter and I fell in love at first sight."
Before he could finish, Armando kicked him in the chest.
