Chapter 96 Five times bigger
Chapter 96 Five times bigger
Wrapping my arms around my chest, my face burning, I bite back tears, and on unsteady feet I quickly leave the restaurant heading straight for the taxi I ordered , Natte's mom has agreed to take care of her own grandchild until Natte finished his rehabilitation.
I left them arguing about it
It just occurred to me that Natte was fighting not to go for rehabilitation.
His own kid was looking up to him with great expectations but since Natte was fighting so much not to be responsible I couldn't stay and watch
I’m shopping with Terry today, she's about to leave for england with Dennis since Dennis is still a singer, travelling and touring. Well Terry’s shopping, and I’m just trailing around behind her.
Darla shows up unexpectedly too, I've missed her though, ive missed her sarcasm but I can't bring myself to argue with her today and I'm pretty much surprised too she's not fighting me today
Terry found out about my fight with Natte and ordered that we were going out this afternoon shopping. I didn't know she invited Darla too, I always get irritated when she does this but today I'm not just feel like we're still the best three childhood friends
Even though I wasn’t in the mood, and would have been quite happy to hide in my suite until I had to show my face at dinner with Natte's mom, I could tell Terry meant business. I’d pretty much lost any fight I had in me earlier from my fight with Natte just after he finished talking to his mom, so I yielded.
I’m still reeling from it to be honest.
He’s not going to let me go. He’s never going to give up on us.
Yeah, well good luck with that buddy, because the more you push the further I’m going to pull away.
I think.
I don’t know.
Crap.
Natte has this innate way of being able to pull and tie up my strings like no one before, and when I’m around him I just seem to lose all sense and focus. And maybe a teeny tiny part of me wants to go back. But a bigger part of me the humiliated, betrayed part of me doesn’t. And most part of me want him as my real Natte not a drug addict
And for now, humiliated Shia in control.
Terry is loaded up with clothes she potentially wants to buy. Darla is picking her share knowing Terry is going to swipe the card for her. I’m so far gone into my own wallowing I can’t even begin to appreciate the pretty things surrounding me.
“I’m going to try this stuff on. Keep me company?” Terry asks.
“Sure. ” It’s not like I’ve got anything better to do.
I follow Terry into the empty changing rooms and take a seat while she goes into the cubical to try clothes on. Darla follows going to the next changing room now I'm left to check them out give remarks
“What do you think?” Terry asks, coming out of the cubicle in a stunning, emerald green silk slip dress with a thigh-high slit a few minutes later.
My pretty-dress-spidey-sense finally shows up, and I’m instantly in love.
It’s minimalist, with delicate spaghetti straps and a draped cowl neckline that looks incredibly elegant and expensive.
“It’s gorgeous,” I murmur, wishing I’d been paying attention before now as I would have picked it up for myself. At least I know Terry will lend it to me if I want to wear it. Not that I feel like going out much nowadays.
“I’d team it with those strappy gold stilettos you’ve got there. ” I nod in the direction of the sparkly high-heeled shoes sitting on the floor.
“You think?” She pushes her brows together. “I brought them in to try on with the white jumpsuit. ”
“Trust me,” I say. “Put them on and you’ll see. ”
Shrugging, she slips her feet into the insanely high heels and looks at herself in the mirror.
“Wow! You’re right,” she grins. “They do work together. Only problem is this outfit is on the wrong girl. No way could I pull this off, I’m too pale. This has you written all over it. ”
“Nah, it suits you just right. ”
“Try it on,” she encourages.
Even though I love the outfit, I’m just not in the mood to play dress up. I can’t get my mood past Natte.
“I’m not in the mood to try clothes on. ” I start to chew on my thumbnail.
“So don’t try, just buy. We’re about the same size,” she says, assessing herself in the mirror again.
I snort. It’s not the most attractive sound.
“We are!” She sounds defensive.
“Yeah, except for that my ass is about five times as big as yours is. ”
“No it’s not. ” She gives me a disapproving look. “I guarantee this dress will fit you, so I’m telling you that you are getting this dress and shoes if I have to pay for them myself. And you’re wearing them to that dinner tonight as well. ”
“Like hell I am!” I say my head snapping up. “I’m going to the dinner in my jeans and a T-shirt, comfortable clothes. I’m going back to my apartment after everything rem
ember I had an appointment with Pine "
I'm excited that Pine is about to show up, I don't wanna think about Natte anymore.
He shows up and I can't put my hands to myself maybe it's because this man gives me Natte's sexy vibes.
When we reach the bed, he grabs hold of my waist and yanks me firmly against his body and kisses me hard.
Easing me out of my vest, he drops it to the floor.
I pull his T-shirt off over his head and run my fingers over his bare chest, touching his tattoos, tracing my fingers lightly over them.
He shudders under my touch and I love the feeling.
Pine lifts me up onto the bed, and I edge backwards as he climbs over me, then leans down and begins kissing my neck.
“I don’t like fighting with you,” he murmurs, tracing kisses over my skin.
“I don’t either, but the making up is pretty good, I've missed you too.”
Pine lifts his head, looking at me. “I’d say it’s awesome.”
He sits up and yanks my pyjama bottoms off, and grinning over at me, he takes hold of my panties and tears them in two.
I start giggling.
Then he’s cutting my laughter off when he dips his head low, using his mouth to turn my laughter into groans of his name, as he sets to work on our making up session.
"Let's stop talking for tonight,” I say, lifting my head up from his chest.
He pauses for a second. Then he looks at me differently. He's serious and immediately I see Natte’s version in his eyes.
“Shia…”
Something in his voice makes my stomach tighten.
“What?”
He exhales slowly, like he’s been holding this in for too long.
“My name isn’t Pine, I'm not your night guy Pine.”
I frown slightly. “What do you mean?”
His hand comes up, brushing my hair away from my face.
“I am Natte, Natte Johnson.”
I freeze on the bed despite his hot body pressing onto mine.
“I’m your Natte,” he says softly. “Your one and only Natte.”
My heart stops, and I feel like I'm on another planet. I thought that spending the night with my night guy would help me forget about Natte and maybe my life would go back to normal, but I was wrong.
“What are you talking about?”
“I saw you in Miami two years ago, you and your friend were drunk that day, you were talking about a night stand and I couldn't let anyone else touch you,” he continues, his voice low and careful. “I recognised you instantly. But I couldn’t, I couldn’t bring myself to tell you who I was because I had just started rehab.”
I just stare at him completely stunned.
“You looked happy. And I didn’t want to ruin that. So I went along with it. As Pine ever since that night stand.”
My chest tightens.
“I tried to stay away,” he admits, a faint, broken smile touching his lips. “But I couldn’t. I kept showing up at your house. Again and again. I couldn’t stop myself.”
“I wanted to do it right, to court you righteously,” he says. “Not as the rock star you knew. Not as the mess I was. I wanted to court you properly. Be someone you could actually choose, maybe as the guy you knew back then as a child, not someone you felt tied to.”
My eyes flicker down to his chest.
To the tattoos, no, to where his fake tattoos are always there.
He follows my gaze.
A quiet breath leaves him.
“They were never real,” he says. “All those tattoos you’ve seen on Natte, they’re fake.”
I look back up at him, completely stunned.
“You only ever knew the rock star version of me,” he murmurs. “Not this, not me, your real Pine.”
I can't really take this for a night.
And suddenly everything feels like it’s shifting all over again.
