Chapter 46

VIVIAN’S POV

It’s a wonderful day today and I know the blackwood mansion is a living hell now. Everyone doesn’t seem satisfied “I am in bigger danger” i said to myself with a wide smile on my face like I fear nothing.

Then I heard my phone ring, Kian’s name popped out on it, I wonder what he has to say .

“H... hi..” he stammered

“Hey Kian” I said my voice clear and cool.

“Well I called to ask if you home and I wanted to discuss to you about something” he said slowly his voice barely above a whisper.

I knew it was about the will.

“I am all ears Kian” i said.

“I knew my grandfather knows what he was doing when he wrote his will and I am satisfied with everything, but I just hope you have mercy on my mother and Mira, allow them stay in the mansion” he said, his voice slow and silent

I smiled “I have no intention of making anybody leave, well I think I should break down the surprise to you. I am coming back into the mansion tomorrow, I know I dont belong there but at this point there is nothing anybody can do not even I can defy Grandfather’s wishes”

Kian's voice was barely above a whisper as he asked, "Alright, how are you deep down?"  I could feel his genuine interest in my well-being.

I took a moment to collect my thoughts, sipping in my saliva before I could reply the silence between us was thick.

Finally, I broke the silence, my voice barely above a whisper. "I am okay," I said, the words feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

“Really?” he asked.

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me truly. "Yes, really," I replied, my voice a little stronger now.

"I'm glad," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "You deserve to be okay, Vivian. You deserve to be happy."

I smiled "Thanks, Kian," I said, my voice filled with emotion and I dropped the call immediately.

As I gazed out the window, the night wore on, casting a dark and lonely shadow over the world. The silence was deafening, punctuated only by the faint glow of lights in the distance. It was as if the world was mourning the loss of a great soul, a soul like Grandfather Edward's.

"Life is such a misery," I whispered to myself, feeling the weight of my grief bearing down on me. But even in death, Grandfather Edward's legacy lived on, and I was determined to honor his memory.

"I hope Grandfather will be very happy wherever he is," I said, my voice cracking with emotion. "And I will make sure I keep the Blackwood family strong. I will make the real man become the CEO, just like he wanted."

As I spoke, I felt a sense of resolve wash over me. I would not let Grandfather Edward's dreams die with him. I would carry on his legacy, no matter the cost.

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." I remembered Grandfather Edward's words, and they gave me the strength to carry on.

But the pain of his loss still lingered, a constant reminder of what I had lost. "Grief is the price we pay for love," I whispered, tears streaming down my face.

As I stood there, lost in my thoughts, I realized that life was precious, and every moment should be cherished. "The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams," Grandfather Edward had once said.

KIAN POV

Sighed...

I walked back to the main hall after my call with Vivian but to my surprise my mom and Mira  was still there on sit brooding while I was unbothered.

My mom’s eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing through me like a dagger “is this really how weak and calm you are or because you love her?” she spat, her voice dripping with venom and anger.

I felt a surge of anger at her tone but I tried to remain calm “ what do you mean mom?” I asked my voice even .

But she was beyond reason. "Vivian got what she wanted, now she's gone she got everything that belongs to us," she snarled, her lips curling into a sneer.

I took a deep breath, trying to explain. "She didn't get what she wanted, grandfather gave those to her, so it belongs to her."

But my mom was having none of it. "Shut your mouth!" she yelled, her face red with rage.

I felt a spark of anger ignite within me, and I gazed at her in surprise. "What do you want, mom? Defy grandfather's wishes? For goodness' sake, will you stop being overwhelmed with money and all that?" I yelled back, my voice echoing through the room.

My mom's eyes flashed with fury, and she took a step closer to me. "How dare you!" she spat. "You ungrateful child, you don't know the sacrifices I made for this family!"

I stood my ground, my heart pounding with anger. "Sacrifices? You call being greedy and manipulative sacrifices?" I shot back, my words spitting out like venom.

My mom's face twisted in rage, and she raised her hand to slap me. But I caught her wrist, holding it back. "Don't even think about it," I growled, my eyes blazing with anger.

The room was silent for a moment, the only sound our heavy breathing. Then my mom spoke, her voice low and deadly. "You'll regret this, son”.

“Focus on what’s real and stop chasing what’s not yours” I said and turned away.

As I turned away from my mom, Mira stood up, caressing her baby with her arms. Her voice was laced with malice and manipulation as she spoke.

"Vivian is the cause of all this, she made Kian change towards us. Kian changed towards you, mother. You are his mother, he should listen to you, but what did he do? He disobeyed every word you say to him."

My mom's face twisted in anger, her eyes flashing with fury. Mira's words were like fuel to the fire, stoking the flames of her rage.

"You're right, Mira," my mom spat, her voice venomous. "Vivian has been a thorn in our side since the beginning. She thinks she's so much better than us, with her perfect little life and her father's fortune."

Mira nodded, her eyes gleaming with agreement. "Yes, mother, we cant let Vivian have everything, she has to be left with nothing”.

I felt a surge of anger at Mira's words, but I knew better than to engage with her. She was a master manipulator, and she would stop at nothing to get what she wanted.
